Školska knjiga d.d. is a leading publishing house in Croatia and with the region. The company's focus is on the expertise within the field of education. With such focus, the company leads the shaping of the cultural life of the society in Croatia and beyond its borders. As a Marketing Manager, I was responsible for managing both brands together with promotional activities and communication.

For what projects/services did your company hire Mediacor?

As social networks played an essential role within marketing communication strategy and therefore a vital pillar of communication, we have decided to allocate more resources by bringing more expertise focused on social media channels, particularly in campaign management.

As a Marketing team, we have introduced a KPI definition and tracking performance to measure ROI with more precision. Mediacor agency worked closely with the company's marketing team to maintain a clear focus on awareness for new editions and drive engagement from our audience to build readers' community around our brands.

Agency was our inevitable partner in content definition, production, and social media campaign management.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to increase our followers' baseline and bring more clarity to our target base by focusing on customers who have a clear interest in books and reading non-dependable on seasonalities or offers. By building a more relevant baseline, we enabled higher reach and engagement and brought more optimization in advertising spendings.

How did you select Mediacor?

My team selected recommendations and set up a shortlist of agencies. We have organized a pitch, and within the pitch process, a task was given to the agencies as a major part of the pitch.

Mediacor was the first choice by all stakeholders involved in front of the company within the pitch process since they showed a clear understanding of the company and its business environment, and demonstrate and applied creativity and know-how in the content definition and high-quality production.

Once we selected the agency, we establish our common workflow on an operational level and introduce a team dedicated to social media management on a daily basis. I am convinced that close and constant cooperation, also with the Management team from the Mediacor agency, helped to overreach goals so quickly.

We have defined a strategic plan aligned with the plans from the publishing and sales departments'. The agency was responding accordingly to develop a detailed plan of content communication and activities to support it.

The results were monitored continuously, and reports were structured by the Mediacor on a monthly level - providing deep insights into content performance, engagements, and allocated spendings.

What was the team composition?

We had a dedicated team that supported both of our brands on an operational level, and we worked closely with the agency's management to enable constant and transparent assessments.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We set up one of the main pillars of our strategy - to build up our client base, increase it in numbers, and establish more quality in base overall.

From the year when the company deployed social media until Mediacor cooperation was established, the followers' baseline within five years counted 17k members. In less than one year working with Mediacor, we have elevated this number by 37 percent.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager responsible for our brands provided a detailed content and campaign plan in advance for the upcoming week. The plan was based on the main areas and editions that we address for the upcoming week. The plan was once more aligned with the Company's publishing, and the sales department revised and approved.

If some additional activities and special projects, a proposal was given in front of the agency in advance to ensure content definition and production as well as IT support in case the project was linked with the infrastructure from the Company. By maintaining such workflows, I would determine cooperation with Mediacor quite efficient.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The Agency had a much broader knowledge and team competencies besides supporting us as a client for social media content and campaign management. Such a broader knowledge was one of the significant enablers once we, as a company, launched our own webshop. Management was also open to dedicate team members and modify the team if needed, aiming to establish a team of knowledgeable members with an understanding of the literature that brought more efficiency on the operational level. As a client, I personally found it very respectful knowing that you are working with an Agency that understands your brand and client's needs.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There are always areas for improvement, mainly when working in such an agile environment as social media is. The more important fact in our experience working with Mediacor is that improvements if required, were proactively communicated between the Agency and the Client as a prerequisite to address areas of improvement and provide solutions immediately.

I am the CEO of Total Croatia News, the largest English-language news portal for Croatia.

For what projects/services did your company hire Mediacor?

We worked together to create the Total Croatia Travel Info Viber community to inform tourists about travel during the corona era, then added a chatbot of the same name

What were your goals for this project?

To provide regular and transparent information for tourists, as there was little official information. We wanted to make the community two-way so that we could learn about the areas of confusion for tourists, as well as using their feedback to paint a more accurate picture of the situation on the ground.

SOLUTION

How did you select Mediacor?

The official Viber community Koronavirus.hr did an excellent job informing the public about the coronavirus news. It had over 500,000 subscribers in the first week. We want to create something similar for tourism news and travel info, and it made sense to use the same platform.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

There was lots of advice in helping us get started, as well as moderating help. A wonderful set of Croatia tourism Viber stickers were created, which brought a lot of visibility to the community. The creation of the chatbot helped to reduce our workload tremendously.

What was the team composition?

From our side, myself and a PR expert as the key players, supported by a couple of our interns. From Mediacor, Aleksandra from Viber Croatia and Jelena from 4app.hr - both were outstanding and responsive.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We helped hundreds, if not thousands, of tourists to come to Croatia this year and became known nationally and internationally as the most reliable and current info source. CNN linked to our daily update, ABC News contacted us, resulting in 6 prime time reports, including Good Morning America, which was watched by 12.5 million viewers.

We even helped arrange two weddings within the community. The feedback from community members meant I was able to publish news article on current changes that nobody else knew about, and the auto translate function made the community available to anyone in the world.

Creativity, willingness to think out of the box, responsiveness.

Actually no. If all companies in Croatia were this good, what a country it would be...

Mediacor works on identifying and following up on new partner leads and closing 360 projects with them where the partner utilizes Viber’s full product toolkit. In addition the agency looks after new opportunities and trends in the market so we are always one step ahead with our campaigns.

Their responsibilities also include partner account management. On the PR side Mediacor looks after own and third party coverage in both tier 1 and niche media depending on the brief.

Mediacor always goes the extra mile and the team is extremely determined to come up with fresh ideas every time, always working hard on shared projects with a vision. Always staying one step ahead of the competition.

The workflow is very effective , done almost completely remote via weekly , biweekly , and monthly calls to plan the periods ahead and exchange feedback on past performance

Mediacor is very professional, innovative and dedicated, full of new ideas !

Are there any areas for improvement?

Understanding the limitations of the market we would always like to see a broader partnership ecosystem including partners especially from utility verticals. on the PR side we are always happy with broader coverage for our Viber releases.

I am the Business Development Manager for Viber in Central and Eastern Europe and my focus is primarily on media, sports and entertainment partnerships. At the time of the campaign, I was the country manager for Croatia on Viber's side and worked hand in hand with Mediacor to bring this partnership to life.

For what projects/services did your company hire Mediacor?

The range is quite wide - they are our business development and public relations partner in Croatia, but their know-how is quite exhaustive beyond the two primary directions I mentioned. They've performed all sorts of duties in the BD area, starting from lead gen to preparing strategies for partners and clients and executing them with the utmost attention to detail.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to break the record for downloads of a sticker pack in Croatia (which were somewhere around the 350,000 mark). Needless to say, we did break the record and we won 2 of the most prestigious awards for this campaign in the CEE region - a Somo borac and a SEMPL award for best digital marketing campaign.

Literally every single project I've worked on with Mediacor has been a success, both from the client's side, managed by Mediacor and on our side.

Clear communication and punctuality are 2 aspects that have always been present. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Top-down approach in the sense of task ownership, progressiveness and responsibility. Their creativity, relevance, and data-based decision making were impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing comes to mind in terms of long-standing issues to address. Any hiccups have been addressed and polished immediately after, which is another impressive aspect to our collaboration with Mediacor.
