I’m the product owner of Turris. We develop, produce, and sell modular network devices.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with the maykin?

We needed help with market research. We had never done anything like that before, so we hired the maykin to help us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did market research and some demographic structures for the new devices that we planned for next year. We wanted to gain an understanding of the price limits for our possible target audience. We wanted to see how that differed between the US, UK, and Czechia.

The first deliverable was a design of a questionnaire that we used in Pollfish, a platform where you can gather responses from respondents across the globe. They also made suggestions on the selection criteria for respondents. The final deliverable was a presentation of how different countries and demographic groups looked at the criteria that we consider important.

We worked with one person from their team.

A friend recommended them to us. We chose them because they had the experience we were looking for.

How much have you invested with them?

Their work came at about $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April–June 2021. We’ll continue working with them on a similar project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It was a pleasant cooperation.

How did the maykin perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via Zoom, chat tools, and email. It was a fairly short project. If there were any delays, it was because we had some issues on our end. Their impeccable timing complemented their great project management skills.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have expertise in market research and active marketing on social networks.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I’d have them improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear upfront about the results you want, and they’ll push you in the right direction to accomplish them.

We needed a professional oversight over our social media campaigns and a help executing our strategy.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

After an initial meeting, we identified priorities and a weekly rhythm of reporting and collaboration. We communicated frequently, shared assets and plenty of feedback.

One account manager and one content manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to outsource a large part of our social media activities and had them in good hands. As a part of our overall marketing strategies we identified CPA levels that we were able to reach with Matej and the team.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The comms was smooth and professional.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was impressed with their personal approach and genuine interest in our product.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not sure. At times I've felt that the work is more report-driven than result-driven.
