We started with a few discover calls and sent over our iOS codebase for the team to review in detail. We worked with Maybeworks on scope, timeline and rough cost of the project based on our expectation of a v1 release. Throughout the development process we had weekly calls to review progress and communicate feedback.

The Maybeworks team was able to achieve an identical version of many of the iOS core features using a completely different language and OS environment.

Diaceutics is a Healthcare, we approached Maybeworks with key objective. Maybeworks worked with us to develop a clickable web dashboard that we could share with our actual users. Allowing our users to click through thedashboard and provide feedback made it very easy to iterate our design and develop a product that the Senior Living industry would easily use. They reviewed this information with us in a few different phases and have continued to make updates when requested in a timely fashion.

Through several iterations of our web dashboard with direct user feedback has allowed us to receive unanimous feedback on the dashboard workflow. With an updated and professional pitch deck we have successfully raised capital.

We needed to create some complex, bespoke functionality for a mobile-optimised web app, using the Angular Javascript framework and PHP/MySQL. This also required knowledge around TLS, Unix and server side configuration.

We used many platforms to find the right candidate and reviewed prior work. This was a very large and detailed work effort

The scope of work is too large to cover in a couple of sentences but includes dynamic multilevel menus, forms with validation, interactive displays and graphs with dynamic scaling drawing from dynamic data coming from the captured TSD and Events from various sensors connected to the network.

Full Stack developers were used and they were quickly able to understand our detailed specification documents. For reference the specification document exceeds 500 pages.

I'm starting a SaaS Product, which thousands of people in Germany will use in web as well as on mobile devices.

We provided MaybeWorks a design of our web app and the goal was to build the front end as well as the backend and a stripe checkout for customers. Everyone at MaybeWorks was caring and always strived to please their customer.  So they were patient with me when screens needed to be (re)designed after project start.

At the end I saw the our pricing models being not a fit for my customers, so we decided to drop that task. I am thankful for that, because MaybeWorks also had my budget in mind.

I was looking for a professional React and full stack developer with 5 years of experience, who would also have experience with our architecture. I found MaybeWorks on a hiring platform and contacted them. Afterwards they presented me the best fit of a developer in their company. In deed, it was a perfect fit.

I needed MaybeWorks for the web app to deliver authentication, and features like event & contact management, filters and a collaboration feature for our customers, who are working together on their project in our product. It needed to be done with NodeJS, React, TypeScript, MongoDB, Jest for unit tests, i18next for translations, SendGrid for E-Mails, GitHub for version control and a few more.

After kickstart, the developer of MaybeWorks introduced some great resources and libraries, which are a huge benefit to our project.

After having contact with the sales department, the whole project was managed by a project manager and a full stack developer.

The communication on the go was brilliant. The app works great. The code is understandable.

We used Slack for quick communications between our Google Meet calls every Monday and Thursday. With any question regarding the project on management level, I was free to contact the project manager and always got a kind and immediate answer. The same applied to the development level.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

MaybeWorks delivered what they were hired for. Also bugs were fixed in minutes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At project start I got a very detailed overview of how long the project would take and what the estimations were. I liked it but we all knew that my budget was not big enough for their estimation. The encouragement then was that we would be quicker than the estimation. Now we came out a few weeks later and some grands over budget.

In my situation with a small budget, it hurts a little. But! I got a professional, who knew what to do. The communication was great and I have a product that works and will be loved by thousands.

We hired two developers for the purpose of developing a React front end and a PHP backend. The goals were ongoing in the sense that this is a venture funded company with a long product roadmap.

I looked at examples of previous front end implementation and was attracted to the clean implementation & work history of one of the developers. Finding a competitive price was also a significant consideration.

1. We first created a prototype of the web site based on a React theme package--we were essentially going to build the app from scratch -
2. I brought in a UX/UI designer to design the screens -- lists, detail screens, dashboard, login, etc
3. MaybeWorks implemented the front end design at first.
4. Later in 2020 I also added an engineer to work on the full stack with an emphasis on the backend - We used Jira to organize our work and communicated daily on Slack - Front end was React - Backed is PHP - Cloud services on AWS
5. The more challenging parts of our product involved creating a web-app teleprompter + audio & video recording & cloud upload

None at this time. We built the product from scratch so there was not a "relative performance" measurement.

- All work was handled in Jira, design documents, and Slack--we did not need to have any periodic conference calls - Work was always done in a timely & high quality manner. I emphasized quality over a deterministic scheduled - The developers who I worked with had great talent and interest in crafting a high quality product

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I came from a high-meeting corporate company before. I was surprised at how productive the developers were without having meetings.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

For myself, the main drawback was working from 9 timezones away, so we only had 1 hour of overlap in the morning, in case something needed to be communicated in real time.

Our old site was originally built by another provider, but the quality wasn’t good. So, we needed someone to rebuild it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We handed MaybeWorks the code, which had a lot of issues. They had to learn it, refractor it, and then create new features for our custom website. They’re using Angular 9 for the frontend and Node.js and MySQL for the backend.

What is the team composition?

Team includes — two QA specialists, three frontend developers, one backend developer, an HTML person, a designer, and a DevOps person.

How did you come to work with MaybeWorks?

We looked at a lot of candidates, but it was important to me to have someone who follows my requests, participates in discussions, and could provide ideas. After I interviewed MaybeWorks, I found that they were the best fit for our project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2021, and our engagement is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

So far, everything looks good — they’ve built some pretty complicated features for our website, and I really enjoy working with their team. It’s really hard to find reliable developers these days, but I’m glad we found them and decided to work with them; I think we can work together successfully for a long time.

How did MaybeWorks perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve met most of the set deadlines. Whenever something happens, they update me and we discuss the new changes. We use Asana for tracking tasks and Skype and email for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I work closely with one person from their team — he’s a great and reliable developer and has good potential for big projects. We need more time to see how he does on complicated tasks, but so far, he’s doing a good job of following my requests and providing helpful ideas.

I would like to see people be more involved into process of generating ideas, solutions and improvements.

We are a data-driven company that delivers CRM systems for startups with a large quantity of data to process.

Build a CRM system from scratch and building a database in mongo. The system had to be able to rank " leads and files' based on scores that could change any minute by multiple users simultaneously. The platform had to be stable so up to 20 users could use it on a daily basis. Security and user roles were important business recruitments.

SOLUTION

How did you select MaybeWorks and what were the deciding factors?

The level of IT knowledge and the easy way of communicating made us go for maybework. Also, the people that work there are highly punctual and take a lot of ownership of solving problems.

We used the MERN stack, the project is divided into several core functionalities. A relational database with the ability to make complex queries and also displaying them within the CRM system. A lead ranking system that changes numerous times during the day based on the input of the users.

The system had to have an almost flawless uptime during business hours because we need to develop features on the fly. Also, need the flexibility to solve problems when the business units ran into blockades so lots of last-minute adjustments.

We had Vlad for business matters very nice and communicative guy that never failed to have an open mindset. We had Sergey as our project manager. Every day he sends us a summary of the work done and what they will work on the next day.

And Alice, our developer, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is one of the few developers we worked with within our companies history that always approached a problem with business logic in mind. On numerous occasions, she solved a problem and explained what she did!

It is also very refreshing that the organization is honest about one developer's limitation and always told us that if something got complicated, they need to set up an internal meeting with senior developers to solve the problem.

Over 16.000 files were indexed. More than 1 million objects were imported and organized. 12 users are currently working in a stable CRM on a daily basis.

We worked in slack and asana to manage all coms. We used facetime, slack call en skype to set up calls. They are not native English speakers but fluent. We had NO major miscommunication which in my experience on a large project happens all the time.

The number of times they reassured us when the project ran into complications. They took over an existing codebase within 2 weeks. Code quality is good.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing I can come up with is that there was no daily summary of work done during the beginning of the project. Sergey was quick to change this and made sure we had a daily summary ever since.

It is obvious. Our client needed development come-up. It was tough to find a team that can quickly jump on an existing codebase and brings a difference. The project was successfully launched within timeframes given by MaybeWorks.

The dedicated project manager was brilliant. As I’ve previously mentioned, he was working closely with the client. Moreover, he had stunning English, so nothing slipped out from him. His way to manage the team was very productive and he successfully delivered his piece of work.

I would mention several things that impressed me a lot:

• Technical expertise and savviness of the whole team

• Staying in touch. They were always answering quickly, giving updates on time. It seems to be a regular thing, still, it is rare nowadays.
• The team skill to jump into an existing codebase and work fast, being productive in refactoring existing code and implementing new features.
