- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Jun 14, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: After writing excellent code and fixing bugs, MaybeWorks delivered a performant website. The team outstandingly communicated on Google Meet and Slack, immediately addressing concerns at any time. They provided exactly what the client needed, making them reliable partners in this field.
""Everyone at MaybeWorks was caring and always strived to please their customer.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm starting a SaaS Product, which thousands of people in Germany will use in web as well as on mobile devices.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire MaybeWorks, and what were your goals?

We provided MaybeWorks a design of our web app and the goal was to build the front end as well as the backend and a stripe checkout for customers. Everyone at MaybeWorks was caring and always strived to please their customer.  So they were patient with me when screens needed to be (re)designed after project start.

At the end I saw the our pricing models being not a fit for my customers, so we decided to drop that task. I am thankful for that, because MaybeWorks also had my budget in mind.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was looking for a professional React and full stack developer with 5 years of experience, who would also have experience with our architecture. I found MaybeWorks on a hiring platform and contacted them. Afterwards they presented me the best fit of a developer in their company. In deed, it was a perfect fit.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

I needed MaybeWorks for the web app to deliver authentication, and features like event & contact management, filters and a collaboration feature for our customers, who are working together on their project in our product. It needed to be done with NodeJS, React, TypeScript, MongoDB, Jest for unit tests, i18next for translations, SendGrid for E-Mails, GitHub for version control and a few more.

After kickstart, the developer of MaybeWorks introduced some great resources and libraries, which are a huge benefit to our project.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

After having contact with the sales department, the whole project was managed by a project manager and a full stack developer.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The communication on the go was brilliant. The app works great. The code is understandable.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We used Slack for quick communications between our Google Meet calls every Monday and Thursday. With any question regarding the project on management level, I was free to contact the project manager and always got a kind and immediate answer. The same applied to the development level.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

MaybeWorks delivered what they were hired for. Also bugs were fixed in minutes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At project start I got a very detailed overview of how long the project would take and what the estimations were. I liked it but we all knew that my budget was not big enough for their estimation. The encouragement then was that we would be quicker than the estimation. Now we came out a few weeks later and some grands over budget.

In my situation with a small budget, it hurts a little. But! I got a professional, who knew what to do. The communication was great and I have a product that works and will be loved by thousands.

**The Review** — Apr 2, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: MaybeWorks successfully delivered the project. They used Jira for project management and Slack for communication during the development. Overall, the client was impressed with the team's productivity and integrity throughout.
""I was surprised at how productive the developers were without having meetings.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Chief Technical Officer, CTO at PitchHub. I am responsible for all of the product design and development

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire MaybeWorks, and what were your goals?

We hired two developers for the purpose of developing a React front end and a PHP backend. The goals were ongoing in the sense that this is a venture funded company with a long product roadmap.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I looked at examples of previous front end implementation and was attracted to the clean implementation & work history of one of the developers. Finding a competitive price was also a significant consideration.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Over 2 years:

We first created a prototype of the web site based on a React theme package--we were essentially going to build the app from scratch -
I brought in a UX/UI designer to design the screens -- lists, detail screens, dashboard, login, etc
MaybeWorks implemented the front end design at first.
Later in 2020 I also added an engineer to work on the full stack with an emphasis on the backend - We used Jira to organize our work and communicated daily on Slack - Front end was React - Backed is PHP - Cloud services on AWS
The more challenging parts of our product involved creating a web-app teleprompter + audio & video recording & cloud upload
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had:

two engineers
	one front end
one full stack with an emphasis on the back end

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

None at this time. We built the product from scratch so there was not a "relative performance" measurement.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

- All work was handled in Jira, design documents, and Slack--we did not need to have any periodic conference calls - Work was always done in a timely & high quality manner. I emphasized quality over a deterministic scheduled - The developers who I worked with had great talent and interest in crafting a high quality product

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I came from a high-meeting corporate company before. I was surprised at how productive the developers were without having meetings.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

For myself, the main drawback was working from 9 timezones away, so we only had 1 hour of overlap in the morning, in case something needed to be communicated in real time.

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a project manager of a trading platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with MaybeWorks?

Our old site was originally built by another provider, but the quality wasn’t good. So, we needed someone to rebuild it.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We handed MaybeWorks the code, which had a lot of issues. They had to learn it, refractor it, and then create new features for our custom website. They’re using Angular 9 for the frontend and Node.js and MySQL for the backend.

What is the team composition?

Team includes — two QA specialists, three frontend developers, one backend developer, an HTML person, a designer, and a DevOps person.

How did you come to work with MaybeWorks?

We looked at a lot of candidates, but it was important to me to have someone who follows my requests, participates in discussions, and could provide ideas. After I interviewed MaybeWorks, I found that they were the best fit for our project.

We started working together in August 2021, and our engagement is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

So far, everything looks good — they’ve built some pretty complicated features for our website, and I really enjoy working with their team. It’s really hard to find reliable developers these days, but I’m glad we found them and decided to work with them; I think we can work together successfully for a long time.

How did MaybeWorks perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve met most of the set deadlines. Whenever something happens, they update me and we discuss the new changes. We use Asana for tracking tasks and Skype and email for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I work closely with one person from their team — he’s a great and reliable developer and has good potential for big projects. We need more time to see how he does on complicated tasks, but so far, he’s doing a good job of following my requests and providing helpful ideas.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like to see people be more involved into process of generating ideas, solutions and improvements.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don’t have any advice.

#### CRM System for CRM Systems Company
**The Project**
- Services: Web Development
- Project size: $10,000 to $49,999
- Project length: Mar. - Dec. 2020

**Project Summary**: MaybeWorks created a CRM System for a CRM systems company. This involved setting up a database on MongoDB, using a MERN stack, and customizing an adaptive lead ranking system.

Founder & Owner, CRM Systems Company

- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Jan 6, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: The CRM System was able to index 16,000 files and import and organize 1 million objects. The CRM system company encountered no issues with Maybeworks's communication, problem solving, and project handling.
""They are no doubt very competent people and reliable company to work with."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We are a data-driven company that delivers CRM systems for startups with a large quantity of data to process.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire MaybeWorks, and what were your goals?

Build a CRM system from scratch and building a database in mongo. The system had to be able to rank " leads and files' based on scores that could change any minute by multiple users simultaneously. The platform had to be stable so up to 20 users could use it on a daily basis. Security and user roles were important business recruitments.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select MaybeWorks and what were the deciding factors?

The level of IT knowledge and the easy way of communicating made us go for maybework. Also, the people that work there are highly punctual and take a lot of ownership of solving problems.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We used the MERN stack, the project is divided into several core functionalities. A relational database with the ability to make complex queries and also displaying them within the CRM system. A lead ranking system that changes numerous times during the day based on the input of the users.

The system had to have an almost flawless uptime during business hours because we need to develop features on the fly. Also, need the flexibility to solve problems when the business units ran into blockades so lots of last-minute adjustments.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had Vlad for business matters very nice and communicative guy that never failed to have an open mindset. We had Sergey as our project manager. Every day he sends us a summary of the work done and what they will work on the next day.

And Alice, our developer, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is one of the few developers we worked with within our companies history that always approached a problem with business logic in mind. On numerous occasions, she solved a problem and explained what she did!

It is also very refreshing that the organization is honest about one developer's limitation and always told us that if something got complicated, they need to set up an internal meeting with senior developers to solve the problem.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Over 16.000 files were indexed. More than 1 million objects were imported and organized. 12 users are currently working in a stable CRM on a daily basis.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We worked in slack and asana to manage all coms. We used facetime, slack call en skype to set up calls. They are not native English speakers but fluent. We had NO major miscommunication which in my experience on a large project happens all the time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The number of times they reassured us when the project ran into complications. They took over an existing codebase within 2 weeks. Code quality is good.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing I can come up with is that there was no daily summary of work done during the beginning of the project. Sergey was quick to change this and made sure we had a daily summary ever since.

**The Review** — May 21, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: MaybeWorks proved capable of jumping into an established codebase and building from there. As a result, the team launched the project successfully within the schedule, staying in touch throughout the entire process. They're tech-savvy, responsive, and quick.
""The dedicated project manager was brilliant. As I’ve previously mentioned, he was working closely with the client."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

CBDM at Qream Design Agency

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire MaybeWorks?

One of our clients needed to have his web application renovated and some parts redeveloped. We were to craft designs and branding. Still, we needed a reliable Full-Stack Web Development team to help our client launch the platform.

What were your goals for this project?

To implement a number of features and the design into a comprehensive web development solution.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We made research on Web Development Agencies in Ukraine, experienced in JavaScript full-stack development and have a successful SaaS experience. After the first conversation, we understood that we are on the same page with the vendor.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

MaybeWorks provided us with a well-seasoned Project Manager, who took his time talking to the client and created a detailed specification together with him. Afterwards, they spent little time finding a suitable team within their in-house developers and jumped on board pretty fast.

What was the team composition?

We were given a team of two Full-Stack developers and a Project Manager, who impacted the project a lot. Their outstanding CTO Serhii was taking part in all the technical discussions and paid close attention to our project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

It is obvious. Our client needed development come-up. It was tough to find a team that can quickly jump on an existing codebase and brings a difference. The project was successfully launched within timeframes given by MaybeWorks.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The dedicated project manager was brilliant. As I’ve previously mentioned, he was working closely with the client. Moreover, he had stunning English, so nothing slipped out from him. His way to manage the team was very productive and he successfully delivered his piece of work.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I would mention several things that impressed me a lot:

Technical expertise and savviness of the whole team
	Project Manager, Developers, CTO
Staying in touch. They were always answering quickly, giving updates on time. It seems to be a regular thing, still, it is rare nowadays.
The team skill to jump into an existing codebase and work fast, being productive in refactoring existing code and implementing new features.
Incredible!

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always some space for improvement, still, MaybeWorks is going towards it. They are on the right way I am sure. I highly recommend MaybeWorks if you are looking for a reliable Web Development provider.

We wanted to create a hosted version of our webinar platform that allows users to host webinars using our servers instead of relying on third-party providers.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

I renewed several potential agencies, but it was obvious that Evgeny (Full Stack Developer, MaybeWorks) had great communication skills and understood what I was trying to achieve.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They designed and developed the front- and backend of our hosted platform using React Redux and Node.js respectively. The frontend features commutation components to interact with the backend, while the backend handles everything from authentication and real-time chat to re-distributing media streams to webinar attendees.

What was the team composition?

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We are a group of independent business owners, working together on various projects.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire MaybeWorks?

We're working on a digital prototype (virtual classroom service) and needed MaybeWorks to add some complex features.

What were your goals for this project?

To make the prototype applicable for user testing ASAP.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Recommended by another vendor.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The prototype needed a main feature that makes our product unique from others. We hired several development teams before, to try to fix this, but nonetheless nobody seemed to manage it.

MaybeWorks came in with transparent communication and expectation management through multiple chats and calls and a trello board setup by them to show what they have been working on and to prevent communication mistakes.

What was the team composition?

The team consisted of a few Full-Stack developers and a Project manager. The guys were extremely helpful in all the stages. We mostly talked to the project manager which was efficient and effective. He was the first of the team that got to hear our idea for this new service and he understood it immediately and made a breakdown structure, which positively affected on our collaboration.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We've been working with several development teams before we hired MaybeWorks. It's quite difficult and time consuming to find a good team. Not just the code quality but mostly, the struggle in communicating your ideas and expectations.

We had several bad experiences which had a major impact on our timeline. But MaybeWorks has shown that there are good development teams out there that have both the developing quality as for communication skills. We're back on track now with our time line, and can now finally start testing. Thanks MaybeWorks!

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Perfect. Alexander, one of their project managers has given us transparency in what they were going to work on, as what they we're working on, from the beginning to the end.

He managed our expectations effortlessly by setting up a trello board where all the features were listed and an indication of progress per feature. Furthermore, he closed off every day and week with a list of progress and plans for the next days. What a wonderful experience this has been.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The streamlined communication and its transparency and expectation management. As well as the rapid pace of high quality work. Also, they took an engaged, proactive approach to sharing ideas and suggestions.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing here.

This goal was successfully reached and in thus we were able to deliver the 2nd version of the game. ### Event Application
The European market has not had an app similar to Sparkbase yet. The goal of our client was to create MVP for christian organizations, namely for churches, to provide with information about upcoming or planned events. The project was ongoing, and being unsatisfied with progress of a developer, our Client addressed us. First of all, the web app had to be refactored, furthermore, we were to take care of new features development. Among them are: authentication, features like event & contact management, filters and a collaboration feature for the customers.
As a result of tight cooperation with Client, we achieved all goals in a timely manner. Currently the app is used by thousands of people in Germany in web, and soon they will have it on mobile devices.

### Platform for Easy Communication through Videos
The idea of our Client was to create a platform for easy communication through videos. You may ask yourself: Why type it when you can show it? Vormats is the best solution to do that because everything you need is to click and go. Believing that nowadays everyone should be able to manifest themselves with a video, the project mission is to make video accessible, so that everyone can make an impact with their story, in a world that is more visual than ever.
The product can amplify your communication with the team like nothing else by saving hundreds of hours that you would spend on creating long emails.

Our Client was looking for an experienced Front End developer to:

refactor the existing code;
implement page layout based on a provided design;
embed Vormats extension to Chrome.

As a result of tight cooperation with our Client, now we have a convenient web application with a user-friendly interface in which a user can record and upload videos and manage them (trim, add new parts, overlay music, share with other users).
