We The Collective is a digital marketing agency specializing in youth entertainment marketing. My position, as Director of Technology, is to steer the technical approach of the company and to ensure that the technical implementation of all jobs is of a sufficiently high quality.

For what projects/services did your company hire Masterpoint?

We were migrating a web application to AWS. This process required rethinking how large parts of the application were architecture and we also took the opportunity to migrate the project to an infrastructure-as-code (IaC) paradigm. Matt helped us design, implement, and roll out these updates.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had worked with Matt on a number of previous projects and we were confident that he would deliver on this with the care, speed and excellence we had come to expect from him. Matt has always delivered very high-quality work on-time and on-budget.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The project took place in four general stages: discovery, design, implementation and rollout. Matt researched the existing application in great detail to ensure that he understood not only the way it was architectured, but also why the decisions that had been made had been made. During this stage, Matt put together recommendations for how the application could be updated as well as working with our developer to ensure that all of the decisions that he had to make were well understood.

Matt then put together detailed plans for the design of the system, from architectural graphs to full explanations of the requirements and redundancies necessary. Matt made implementation easy for us by providing fully documented code and processes, from this stage we received a fully working deployment and IAC setup. Rollout, after all of the work that Matt had put in, was as easy as pushing a button. He ensured that everything launched smoothly and without issue.

Very. Matt was communicative and provided exactly the right amount of detail to stakeholders at all steps along the way.

Beyond his very high-quality work, Matt is one of the best synthesizers I've ever met. They were able to gather disparate ideas and requirements and quickly came to the correct and appropriate conclusions.

None that I can think of.

I was the Principal Solutions architect of a management consulting firm that developed real-time feedback solutions for Fortune 500 clients.

For what projects/services did your company hire Masterpoint?

We were tasked with ideating and then building a highly-availability cross-platform web and mobile platform from an automotive client. Masterpoint was hired to augment our team with a focus on designing and implementing our cloud architecture solution.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

High-performing members of our team had prior experience working with Masterpoint. After our initial conversations, it was abundantly clear that Masterpoint was going to be an excellent partner.

Unfortunately, I am not at liberty to disclose many details. That said, the project included designing, implementing, and then managing a highly-available cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services. The Masterpoint team was responsible for every aspect of the infrastructure, including but not limited to technical analysis, infrastructure design, documentation, security, maintenance and patching, training, and ongoing monitoring.

We had 3 senior cloud consultants engaged throughout the project depending on the stage. Each was responsible for a different part of the infrastructure architecture and development.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The entire project was an overwhelming success and is still being used in production by the client as of today.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication is key and Masterpoint was ALWAYS available to us. Picking a partner that was reliable was key to our success and Masterpoint did not disappoint.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Masterpoint took absolute ownership and pride in the delivery of their work. They acted as true partners to us throughout the process, always putting the best interests of our client first.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They were excellent. I only wish they could provide this level of service across all aspects of the software development lifecycle. However, that is what makes them so good at what they do – they are laser-focused on cloud infrastructure.
