I’m the founder and CTO of Crisfood, an on-demand delivery platform in Bali. We partner with over 1,000 restaurants to provide fast, reliable food delivery and logistics services across multiple cities with a tech-driven approach.

What challenge were you trying to address with Madafu Designs?

We needed to completely transform our app’s UI/UX into a modern, intuitive, visually appealing, and conversion-focused experience while maintaining all existing business functionality.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Madafu Designs handled the end-to-end design of the Crisfood customer-facing food delivery experience. Their work included UX research and information architecture, reviewing the existing app experience, and restructuring navigation and user flows. They also did a complete UI redesign, establishing a modern visual language for Crisfood, including typography, colors, icons, spacing, cards, buttons, forms, and other UI components.Moreover, Madafu Designs redesigned the customer ordering journey, including the complete flow from discovering food and restaurants through cart, checkout, payment, and order confirmation. They also redesigned the restaurant discovery experience, including the home screen, categories, restaurant listings, search, filters, offers, and restaurant discovery experiences.In addition, the team redesigned the restaurant and menu experience, including restaurant profiles, menus, food-item details, customizations/add-ons, pricing, offers, and availability states. They also redesigned the cart and checkout experience, including the cart, coupons/promocodes, delivery address, payment selection, order summary, and order placement.Furthermore, Madafu Designs redesigned the order tracking experience, including order status, live delivery tracking, delivery-partner information, and post-order experience. They also redesigned the membership/subscription experience, including UI/UX for Crisfood membership/free-delivery subscription and its benefits.Additionally, the team redesigned the offers and promotional experiences, including promotional banners, discounts, coupons, referral-related experiences, and other conversion-focused surfaces. They also redesigned the account and supporting flows, including profile, addresses, order history, favorites, notifications, wallet/payment-related screens, settings, and other supporting journeys.Moreover, Madafu Designs redesigned the UX states, including empty states, loading states, errors, unavailable restaurants/items, payment failures, cancellation states, and other edge cases. They also ensured the designs could be adapted across different mobile screen sizes. Finally, they created a design system with reusable UI components and consistent design patterns to support implementation and future expansion.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The primary measurable outcome was the successful completion of a full customer-facing redesign of the Crisfood app, covering 100% of the customer experience and establishing a modern, consistent, scalable UI/UX system. The project improved the structure and usability of core customer journeys and provided a production-ready design foundation for continued development.Moreover, qualitative feedback from internal stakeholders indicated that the redesign was a significant improvement over the previous Crisfood experience. The new interface was perceived as more modern, consistent, intuitive, and visually polished, while the redesigned end-to-end customer journeys provided a clearer foundation for the product and development teams.

They understood the complexities of an on-demand food-delivery platform and translated them into a cohesive, modern, and intuitive product experience. Their attention to both visual quality and usability, combined with the consistency of the design system across the entire app, was particularly impressive.

Madafu managed the project well and delivered on schedule. They communicated clearly throughout, kept us updated on progress, and were responsive whenever we had feedback or requests. Items were delivered on time and they addressed any issues quickly without needing a lot of follow-up. Overall it was a smooth, well-organized engagement.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was how well they translated our brand into the product. A lot of dev shops build something functional but generic — Madafu Designs understood that we're a premium hospitality brand and made sure the app felt that way, not just worked. That design sensibility combined with reliable delivery is what set them apart.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Madafu Designs could have done differently?

Nothing major. If anything, we could have been given a bit more upfront guidance on the ongoing maintenance and update process post-launch, but it wasn't a real issue during the project. Overall we were very happy with the work.

On the branding and marketing side, key deliverables included a complete brand manual, our school prospectus, marketing creatives, event-related visuals, and all brand stationery. This support extended beyond DPS Panvel to our affiliated brands, YesChef and Credo World School, with consistent branding and campaign support across both. Beyond branding, Madafu Designs also designed the UX/UI for our school app and supported us in the software development process — making them a genuine long-term technology and design partner rather than a one-off vendor. Rizwan has been our primary point of contact throughout, which has given us continuity and a strong understanding of our requirements across every project over the years.

Madafu Designs has consistently managed our projects well, delivering on agreed timelines across the various initiatives we've worked on together. Communication has always been clear and responsive — Rizwan, our primary point of contact, has been easy to reach and quick to understand our requirements, which made coordination across multiple brands (DPS Panvel, YesChef, and Credo World School) far smoother than it would otherwise have been. Whenever we've needed revisions or had last-minute requests, particularly around events, the team has been accommodating and responsive rather than treating it as a rigid, one-way process. That responsiveness, combined with the continuity of working with the same point of contact since 2016, is a big part of why the relationship has lasted this long.

What stands out most about Madafu Designs is the continuity and depth of the relationship — we've worked with them since 2016 across branding, marketing, events, and even UX/UI design and software development for our school app. That range is unusual for a design consultancy; most vendors specialize narrowly, but Madafu Designs has been able to support us across very different kinds of work while maintaining the same point of contact throughout, Rizwan. That continuity has meant they genuinely understand our institution — not just our visual identity, but how we operate, what our different brands (DPS Panvel, YesChef, Credo World School) each need, and how to translate that into consistent, professional output every time. That's the kind of understanding that's hard to get from a vendor you rotate through project to project, and it's what has kept us coming back to them for nearly a decade.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Madafu Designs could have done differently?

At this point, we honestly can't point to anything significant. The relationship has evolved naturally over the years, and communication has remained consistent throughout. If anything, as our needs have grown more complex — moving from branding into UX/UI and software support — we'd just say we're looking forward to continuing to grow that scope together.
