BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am an assistant to the Memory Studies Association (MSA), one of the two partners (together with EuroClio) in this European Commission-funded project. Within the project, I am part of the Project Management team.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Lumux Video, and what were your goals?

Our project has a series of online sessions, after which we wanted to have a few clips with the highlights and summaries of the events. We hired Lumux Video to put together these clips.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for video editors online and Lumux Video popped up. Their response and availability to discuss our needs were very good, and so was the flexibility they displayed when coming up with an action plan.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

All our communication happened through email, and it took place both before the event(s) (to decide what we needed and what was possible, as well as the materials that Lumux Video would need afterwards to make it happen), and after the event(s) (to finally send the materials and our specific requirements and guidelines). Lumux Video produced the respective clips within a few days after each session, and they were very open to the 2 or 3 rounds of feedback and changes that we needed.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with Kira, and the communication with him was always clear and fast. He adapted very well to our needs (also relating to the storage and communication software that we were using).

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The videos are currently being used for social media promotion and for reporting about the impact of our project, and they have been very successful so far. They will continue to be hosted on our project's website for greater outreach.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Communication took place through email, and it was always swift and to the point. Kira was proactive when it was needed, to make sure that the videos were up to date and related to each other, and his timeliness was much appreciated.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were extremely flexible and attuned to our needs. They weren't always completely clear to ourselves from the get-go.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It could have been useful to see some of their previous work, or templates or suggestions that they themselves may have for a project of our kind, before having to provide them with specific guidelines as to what we wanted them to do. Nonetheless, Kira was fortunately very responsive so there was always good communication as to which options, out of all our ideas, were possible and/or advisable from the video editing perspective.
