The scope of the security tests was to evaluate vulnerabilities in Crespect OÜ's web application through a manual, grey-box approach conducted in October 2024, followed by a retesting phase to confirm remediation efforts. The primary objective was to identify threats to the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of data and ensure business continuity. The final report lists all identified vulnerabilities, categorized by risk and certainty, to help prioritize corrective actions.

For what projects/services did your company hire LogicalTrust.net?

We hired LogicalTrust to perform periodic penetration tests of our service (both APIs and the user-facing apps), but also to assess our most recent code changes related to multi-factor authentication and SAML-based authentication mechanisms.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to pin-point all possible weak spots in our service when it comes to cyber security, but also data integrity within our multi-tenant infrastructure.

How did you select LogicalTrust.net?

We've been using other providers in the past, but with each such audit we would grow less and less enthusiastic about their quality and commitment. We've found LogicalTrust through Google search, and pre-verified their skills and capabilities through some LinkedIn background checks and other references.

An all-round cyber security audit of our APIs and web apps, covering all endpoints and application "screens", including an extensive series of tests related to authentication / authorization (incl. voucherify role management) / registration / 2FA / password resets / tenants' data integrity / AWS S3 bucket access / session expiry.

What was the team composition?

The team was pretty much a one-man army, who proved to have great skills in security testing, but also was able to understand our product quickly and was flexible and willing to go the extra mile if needed. On top of that, he was able to rely on their company knowledge and discuss some of the more tricky scenarios.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Passing a security audit is not something that will give you an easily measurable outcome. LogicalTrust proved to be highly skilled, and clearly outperformed the other providers that we had used before. The result of their work brings us a high level of confidence when it comes to the security of our platform.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication was alright, precise and timely. Even though theoretically they could just send us the final report after the audit was done, they would report their findings on the fly, which was great as it allowed us to discuss their findings and take action right away if needed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are highly committed and they provide a high quality of work.

Not really. Maybe their audit certificate could have been "nicer", better-executed in terms of wording, presentation and conciseness.

We had two goals : - Find anything that may be used by an attacker to penetrate the system or vote for another user - Produce a document to prove we performed penetration tests and our system is robust enough

How did you select this vendor?

We work with the LogicalTrust company since a few years now... They performed penetration tests on other software we develop or co-develop. We needed a trusted company for that sensible job so the choice was quite obvious to work again with LogicalTrust.

We sent an access to the LogicalTrust team so they can evaluate the project and send us a quote. Once the quote accepted, they performed both automatic and manual tests on the platform and even proposed to enlarge their mission to cover something that was not planned (with no extra charge). They produces a report of all elements we could improve with clear explanations for each point. Our team could then modify a bit the platform and LogicalTrust tested again these modifications to confirm the modifications were valid.

What was the team composition?

Ania took care of the contract/quote aspect. Radek, tech load of the project, handled the penetration tests and sent us the technical reports. Mateusz made sure everybody had all elements to perform their tasks properly.

We queried several leading pen-testing companies in Poland. LogicalTrust's offer was the most comprehensive and they were available to work with us sooner then their competitors. As they come from Wroclaw, our home town, arguably there was some local patriotism involved as well ;)

They analysed and tested our key internal IT networks and services. They examined our corporate website and e-mail system. They also staged a phishing attack on our employees. At the end they produced a detailed report with the results of the tests and their recommendations.

I was the person responsible for the project on InsERT's side. Other people involved were our systems administrators and web application programmers. On LogicalTrust's side there were a couple of pen-testers whom we contacted directly.
