Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a CTO at MailPoet, a company selling email newsletter software and providing email delivery services to small businesses internationally.

For what projects/services did your company hire LogicalTrust.net?

We hired them to do a security audit of our primary software product, “MailPoet Newsletters”, which is a WordPress plugin. We also needed an audit of our company's website.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to discover as many undiscovered security issues in our products as possible.

How did you select this vendor?

Our past CTO found them for a previous project. We were happy with the results then, so they were a clear choice for this project as well.

Describe the project in detail.

They audited our WordPress plugin and website code along with penetration testing of the products.

What was the team composition?

Our primary focal point was one of the penetration testers, but overall seven security analysts worked on the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They found several dozen security issues of varying severity, which our internal engineering team had missed. These results helped make our customers safer and provided peace of mind for our engineering team once the issues were fixed.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was effective. Their team knew what they were doing and what to look for and they updated us along the way. From our side, only answers to logistical questions were necessary.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Every time we use their services, LogicalTrust.net is able to identify non-trivial security issues that we would otherwise miss, and present such issues in an educational way to help our team spot similar issues in the future.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, we’re completely satisfied.
