What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?

For our rental business we were using a lot of different apps and manual processes. That makes it difficult to scale, is error prone and doesn't give the best user experience. Lizard Global will help consolidate our rental process in one main app ready to scale and at the same time make it easier to retain and improve the quality of our rental business.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Lizard Global was responsible for designing and developing based on our requirements and needs. They are also responsible for project management.

What is the team composition? 

The team was comprised of a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developers and Designers.

We found Lizard Global on Clutch and based on their reviews and case studies we reached out. After reaching out we found out that we share the same values and outlook on doing business. That is very important for use to build long term and long lasting partnerships. It was also very obvious they use the best technology stacks to build applications.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our current project is still ongoing. We plan to go live end of 2022. We have plans for extending our partnership beyond the current scope.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When the project is finished we will have consolidated our rental business in one custom build app, that will make our business much more scalable and provide an easier user experience for our rental customers to book vehicles and our operations teams.

How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is solid and they make sure the project keeps moving along. They really stay on top of things. Even when we had to change user stories, because of third party api's not working out.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really show that they are partners that you can build on. Every day the project progresses, they are thinking more and more like us about our rental business (it is more complex than regular rental businesses) and their value for us becomes more and more.

Are there any areas they could improve?

A small note of improvement. Our application is relatively complex and a lot of new concepts are frequently introduced based on functionalities. To keep everybody on the same page during communication about those concepts, it is good to emphasize and enforce the use of the same names of those concepts (with description) to minimize confusion. In 98% of the cases that went well, but improving it, will make Lizard Global even better to work on it!

I am the Co-owner of The Better Gaming Co, an e-commerce and gaming company based in Singapore.

What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?

We saw an opportunity in the market to create a Sudoku game and needed to find the right developer to work with for the project.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Lizard Global was in charge of developing both the mobile application (iOS and Android) and the web backend for The Better Sudoku.

What is the team composition? 

During the project, we worked together with different departments, including the UI/UX design team, the assigned developers, and a project manager who made sure the development process ran smoothly.

How did you come to work with the vendor?

While looking for the right developer for the project we reviewed about 5 different proposals from different developers in Malaysia for the project. Lizard Global had the most compelling proposal and experience in the field.

What is the status of this engagement?

The Better Sudoku app has been developed and is now available for use in the App Store and Play Store. Currently, we are waiting for user feedback before going into Phase 2 of the project to improve the app and add new features.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Initially, the app was supposed to launch in December 2021 but due to complications in the development and issues with the App and Play stores, it looked like we would miss our December deadline. However, the team managed to pull the resources together to get the launch out in December rather than waiting until January. We really appreciated the efforts that they put in getting the work done on time.

How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

They managed the project well in terms of providing an overview of where we were in the development process at all times. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Having worked with other developers in the past, when they gave us the first app to test, we were expecting a lot of errors. However, we were pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. Their ability to look into the details of a project and ensure the quality of work is what I find most impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

While the project went well, it wasn't without the usual hiccups of a development project of this scale. One area of improvement would be in the precision of the scoping of the project to ensure the project remains within budget. There were some features that we had to cut out of the original scope due to budgeting constraints.

We are an important marine & cargo insurance broker and overall the largest in Belgium. I am heading the service & compliance department within Vanbreda Marine which includes sanctions screening, compliance with regulations, review of policies before issuing and providing general, nautical, technical and insurance practice advice to clients and colleagues.

What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?

Tracking of vessels we insure including a warning system when vessels are on a voyage to and are proceeding into risk areas of which insurers must be informed in advance and additional premium (AP) paid under the policy. At the same time a voyage overview including the AP charged should be generated.

How did you come to work with the vendor?

We were in search of a digital solution to assist us in tracking vessels and providing an early warning system when vessels threatened to enter risk zones, after one of the vessels we insured was hijacked by pirates in a high risk area without a proper notification having been received. We got in contact with Lizard Apps to develop such a solution which resulted in the creation of WAPA (worldwide additional premium application).

The WAPA platform is almost ready. It is already being used internally but the fleet owner environment remains to be finalised and the whole application security tested (pentest). It is anticipated that this can be rolled out in the course of February 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The risk of vessels proceeding into risk zones without detection/notification to insurers has virtually been eliminated in full. Once the fleet owner environment has been implemented, clients can request quotes for voyages, input the relevant data of the voyage concerned directly in the platform and consult an overview of all voyages into risk areas performed by the vessels of their fleet as well as the corresponding premiums.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Excellent cooperation, professional advice and proper suggestions to deal with issues along the way during the development which resulted in achieving the tool we wished to develop.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have gone through the whole process of developing the new platform from scratch in a joint effort by Lizard and Proteus/Vanbreda. We thereby basically accomplished all we wanted to achieve. Having said this, there will no doubt be certain aspects which will require amendment or refinement during the future use of the platform, in particular when linked to our other internal applications.

I am the founder of FeetClinic. We are a startup that functions as an intermediate platform between patients, pedologists, feet products, suppliers, health agencies, and insurance companies.

The team hasn’t only helped me but also challenged me to develop my idea further to reach the best outcome. They started by thinking along with me to define what the problem is in order to provide the best solution for my target audience. How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

I believe this is the best part of working with Lizard. I felt  I’m part of the team directly. I was capable of reaching any team member at any time through WhatsApp. You also get constant updates on what is going. Communication was always a problem for me when I worked with freelancers in the past but at Lizard it was totally the opposite . In addition, we have sprint meetings every now and then where they give me detailed updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their guidance and leadership have been vital in developing the application. I felt their desire and commitment to give me the best result possible.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In the beginning of the project there were a few technical hiccups that we encountered, but they were able to stay on top of things and resolve those quickly.

We were trying to find ways to engage consumers directly and to determine whether a subscription model for oral care is feasible in Malaysia.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Lizard Global guided our team at Jordan through an iterative and agile process in determining the best possible approach to achieve the desired objectives and to address the challenges described above.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Based on the challenges presented, Lizard has worked with Jordan to craft out the likely targeted consumer audience, develop personas, and go through several remote workshops to develop a probable solution that addresses the objectives of the project.

How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

Very well. UI/UX designers Eric and Gwenn were the main architect and facilitators of the remote workshop, supported by Terence. Workshop preparations were excellent and we were well informed on the objectives of each workshop, as well as how all of it ties together to formulate a prototype as part of the Phase 1 deliverables.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The facilitation and tools used for the remote workshops were excellent. Jordan team members were highly skeptical about the effectiveness of having remote workshops but were pleasantly surprised by the process and the productive outcome of each workshop. They were focused on high engagement. The way the workshop was structured has been highly effective, in terms of duration, expected deliverables, etc.

Nothing comes to mind. and I look forward to continuing the journey onto Phase 2

We are a company that automates service- and sales processes in order to help companies optimize their customer experience and satisfaction. I work as a provider advisor.

For what projects/services did your company hire Lizard Global, and what were your goals?

I realized that current order management systems are not offering an optimal user experience and are difficult to customize. Users of order management systems usually require the software to be quite adapted to their business processes.

Above that, these same users need a platform that offers more than just static data. Together with Lizard Global, (previously Lizard Apps) we aimed to create a highly customizable and user-friendly order management system.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Together with the team of Lizard Apps, we started working on an order management software. A custom software solution that provides resellers, providers and consumers order management in an accurate, honest and efficient way.

Lizard Apps provided UI/UX research and design as well as custom software development. They implemented customizable parameters for flexibility, real-time data insights for all users, and simplified business processes.

What is the team composition?

The team consisted of Kaz, who fulfilled the role of project owner, Eric, who provided the designs and Daniel, who took care of the technical software development. Daniel even recently flew to Rotterdam, all the way from the Lizard Global office in Kuala Lumpur, to have a closer look at our call centers in order to find out how we can use software to improve our customer services. It was great for Daniel to have met the end-users of the project.

I fell into conversation with Lizard’s CEO Jeremy during CIC’s Venture Café, which is a breeding ground for startups and scaleups. During my talk with Jeremy I told him I was looking for a digital solution for a team to help me develop an order management system. That’s where our adventure started.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project is ongoing, since there are always elements to improve with continuously advancing technologies. From the beginning of my partnership with the Lizard team I understood that developing software is not just a short-term process. It’s an ongoing project that entails continuous innovation by implementing new features. We even started another project with Lizard Global, which also already proved to be successful.

The Order Management System is up and running, and proves to be a well-functioning and successful solution for our target users. We strive to continuously update and improve the system, which is why our partnership is an ongoing project.

The development workflow went smoothly and we have regular moments of communication to discuss the current status of the project. One of the things in our collaboration that I enjoy a lot is that they always have their door open for a visit from me.

After the BETA launch, together with Lizard Global we prioritized the feedback of the first users and were able to adjust the most important issues users experienced.

Issues like, going back quickly to the main menu after a job of candidate search. More clear notifications for users at the dashboard which speedup the overall experience.
Next to that Lizard Global coded coded our admin panel, thanks to this functionality we were able to customize our commercial business offers.

Lizard also coded a Content Management System on our site which enables us to put content faster, by our selves on our website.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Thanks to the learnings out of the software development process till the BETA launch and how constructive they dealt with the feedback, we were able to improve the expectation management. Also the functionality need interview processes in the development cycles were better. This resulted in the fact that we developed faster while the delivered software functionality quality remained at the expected high level within the foreseen time schedules and budgets.

The Lizard global team reacted constructive on our feedback and improved their expectation management and functionality need interview processes in the the development cycles.

One of the most important aspects for us as a start up is, that we do not exceed the budgets and still received the foreseen functionalities. Thanks to the cooperation we were able to achieve this goal after the BETA launch. This convinced us again that we are working with a great strategic software team. We also got time and budget space left for fix the unforeseen bugs, with are an inescapable part of software development processes.

How did you select this vendor?

We had an experience with other coders, but at a point we realized that it did not match enough with our ambition. After sum up our minimum viable needs, in order to enter the market with our idea. We checked our networks, in combination with desk and phone research we came to a list with 15 possible strategic programming partners. One of them was Lizard Apps, in those days. We made a shortlist with three possible coding companies and we were moving towards one of them.

As Lizard Global was proactive towards us in combination with the fact that we had direct contact with the CEO’s made us think ... .these are pretty short lines, we had a good feeling with the team and they reacted as one of the most detailed towards our requirements. Also because they were willing to give us guarantees about what would be delivered in the time and money we had for the process, we decide to go for this company in Rotterdam.

Because of a former code traject and our business vision we were able to describe why we wanted certain features. In the Netherlands we have a saying “de koe in de kont kijken”. If we apply this, we lost to much time in the beginning of the project, because we already knew what and why we needed, what the solution needed in order to satisfy the users and solve the short term matchmakers problem. Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

A few weeks ago we launched and tested our platform with 150 users. The reactions were astonishing, in a co thinking way we only could have dreamed of. It confirmed, validated our business hypothesis, the need for our solution. Thanks to the “straight forward in depth ” feedback we were able to slightly pivot and mostly persevere our strategy and seduce the need launching partners. We became also aware of the “spoiled” level of users on other platform. Not particular on other classical vacancy platform, but more on other social media platforms e.g. At one side the comparison makes us very happy on the other side it gave us an insight on how high the features expectations of our users are. So speed and quality is required more than we expected before to be honest.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Projectmanagement was OK, they are also working on inprovement, that is also why we still cooperate. I am sure that we (dev and customer) will inprove this in the coming years with new diatributed orgtech (web3) such as blockchain. Transprancy in the value project chain is key, blockchain wil reduce the admin friction of most projects significanr, mark this words/ feel free The human connection is great. The professional input is very much appreciated. Major decisions can be made very fast Since we decided to see our Lizard team by ourselves and visited Liard in Kuala Lumpur, we even get into a more productive flow together ,We communicate via WhatsApp, a project platform, bi weekly sprint reports, skype and every possible (digital) way which is needed, Lizard Global is a very young, relatively experienced, flexible team, with eye for details.

Most impressive about Lizard Global is how their team spirit come to live every single day. Like unlocQed is build for, they hire with an open global mind. The diversity within the teams makes us happy and we think that a few of coding companies we met in the past 5 years, could learn a lot of this global mindset. Planning and feature expectation management can be improved. This is off course a mutual responsibility. Our initiative to visit and human relation building via Kuala Lumpur made our communication more smooth and the speed up the production of the aimed problem solving features. If you ask us , would you recommend Lizard , we would say : YES Especially because when we really needed them, they were there for unlocQed and proved to be flexible, constructive building minds.

I realized that there’s no app on the market that allows you to see real pictures of real food at restaurants while at the same time get recommendations from your real-life friends for where to go and eat. Too many apps focus on large groups of reviews by people who do not know your interests or tastes, as opposed to obtaining recommendations and reviews from your closest friends, who know you better than anyone.

From the beginning onward, Lizard's product owner has been on top of the project. It's always good to see that there is someone dedicated to a project who feels the same sense of ownership as I do myself. Because of their experience with working online, they have made it easy to communicate efficiently through Whatsapp and video calls; especially at the times of the pandemic.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What I found most impressive is that Lizard was able to finalise all the features that we prioritised in the product backlog. When the low-priority features could not be implemented due to a lack of time, they were able to communicate this very well and re-schedule accordingly. What I find most important about an app developer is that they are able to meet my overall budget and planning. As long as they are transparent about their ways of working, I am more than happy to stay a partner.

What challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?

There are a lot of recruitment apps. We realized very early we needed a disruptive solution to stand out and give this concept the chance it deserves. 

Lizard understood this from the start of our collaboration and really partnered up in identifying a disruptive and distinctive solution for the job market.

Next to that our challenge was to find a partner that works as agile as we do ourselves.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lizard got involved with a full app development team: a product owner, designer, tester, and developer. 

As noted earlier though, Lizard also got involved in strategy. Lizard helps us identify the proposition and overall business model where we can stand out and leverage.

What is the team composition?

Product owner: Kaz, Designer: Eric/YoYo, Tester: A/B & test-group and Development: Nourhakim.

How did you come to work with the vendor?

I did a lot of research into potential parties to work together with. For this, I talked to a bunch of other business owners that had worked with Lizard. All were very content about their collaboration with Lizard. Also, I researched the work (applications) that different vendors made, Lizard in my opinion stood out.

What is the status of this engagement?

We launched a closed beta version of the web- and mobile application. We’re continually improving the product and working towards going live on app stores.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have a working product! Closed beta still, but we’re very content with the product that stands right now. 

How did the vendor perform from a project management standpoint?

Kaz did an amazing job in chopping up all the work into manageable sprints of two weeks. Most deadlines were, as a result, met in time. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

At Lizard, you won’t just find a bunch of executors. Lizard thinks along with you strategically like a co-founder of the concept would do: on a very strategic level. 

To add on that, I have to mention their exceptional execution. Lizard brings over 10 years of app development skills to the table which means they’ve encountered many of the challenges you’ll encounter before. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, I feel like they might try to take on a little too much work in sprints. However, so far they have managed most of the time to do the work they planned to do.

All in all, I very much recommend Lizard as a partner for your project. Lizard is as experienced as it gets in this field and delivers a great product. Working with them will feel like you gained a partner with a common goal: making your project succeed.
