I’m the director of a public policy center that focuses on young people’s education.

What challenge were you trying to address with Leslie Haines Design?

Our goal was to take fairly complex principles of American government and convey them to the public in an accessible and understandable way. 

Young people were finding traditional governmental principles to be very dated and unappealing. They were unlikely to engage with our materials unless we could fire up their imagination. We were looking for someone to help us with design. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Leslie Haines Design is responsible for the overall appearance of the content we share with the public. They’ve designed our logos, brochures, and pamphlets, and they’ve also worked on our ad and marketing materials featuring celebrities and prominent Americans. 

Notably, we create public service ads that require the support of various organizations to disseminate. Leslie Haines Design is responsible for the look and feel of everything we do. 

The way we work is we’ll explain our end goal to Leslie Haines Design, and they will provide design and marketing input on the appropriate path to success. Our team will then implement based on her recommendations. At the end of the project, we’ll assess the quality of our work, and we’ll finetune our approach for the next project.

How did you come to work with Leslie Haines Design?

The work we were doing involved engaging with local universities, and through that, we became aware of Leslie’s expertise. We approached her about working with us, and we were delighted when she agreed.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent approximately $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since November 2019, and our partnership is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

One series of Leslie Haines Design’s ads have been seen by more than a million viewers monthly, and they have been well received and effective. They’ve consistently designed materials that capture young people’s attention, provide a sense of excitement, and encourage engagement. They’ve achieved our goals and met our expectations. 

How did Leslie Haines Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Leslie Haines Design has never missed a deadline, and they consistently communicate with me about the progress of their work. I can give a verbal description of what we’re looking for, and they mostly deliver what I’ve envisioned. They listen carefully and understand our goals — they deliver. We communicate through emails and phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Leslie is extremely enthusiastic, and she believes and takes great satisfaction in our work. We see her as a partner and not a contractor. She’s very easy to work with; she takes criticism well, although it’s rare that we have to convey any. She is resilient and flexible. 

In addition, Leslie has a gift for simplifying visual presentations so they become eye-catching and clear. Everything she’s done for us is easy to understand because she makes it clear and bold. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Placing your trust in Leslie will be returned multiple times. If you’re counting on her, she’ll work hard to live up to your expectations.
