I needed a marketing agency to help me create a more professional brand.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we had a big video meeting, before which I filled out a form that Lane Digital sent me. During the meeting, I explained my brand, goal, and ideas. LANE Digital had prepared an analysis of my brand ahead of time, and they made a few initial proposals for the color scheme and logo so that I could give them my input.

After the meeting, LANE Digital sent me new proposals for the logo and colors, and I was very happy with one of them. Additionally, they designed my email signature, which was very pretty. They also offered content production, but I didn’t have the budget for it.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with one person, but two people were involved in my project. Both were present at the video conference.

How did you come to work with LANE Digital Consulting?

I posted an announcement on my Instagram account, looking for a partner in digital marketing. A friend of mine sent my request to a few agencies, and LANE Digital responded and presented what they did.

They told me that they had worked with health practitioners, which was really good for me. The person who contacted me was really nice, and we had good communication from the beginning. I explained my needs, and LANE Digital sent me a proposal with their services and price. It sounded perfect to me, so I went forward with them.

I spent around $1,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Ours was a one-month project in December 2021. We’re still in contact because I have questions about my website. They’re really nice to be still answering my questions, even after all this time.

LANE Digital helped me have a more professional brand, and I’m getting more clients as a result. My brand has been expanding quite well since the project, and in addition to more clients, I have more presence on social media and the internet in general.

How did LANE Digital Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

LANE Digital explained everything clearly, and their management was perfect. The meeting lasted for more than an hour; they were very good listeners. They seemed enthusiastic to satisfy my needs and create something close to my vision of the brand.

LANE Digital’s turnaround time was very quick, too. I needed their services rapidly, and that’s what happened, which was great. We used a videoconferencing platform, although I can’t remember which one. Additionally, we communicated by email and WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

LANE Digital offers a very human approach; they don’t hesitate to put in the time and effort for their clients. They listened carefully to my needs, and although they were very professional, they were also very friendly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so. I was really happy with their work, which was why I accepted leaving a review for them. I’d recommend LANE Digital to any business.

Explain your needs, and not hesitate to go deep into details. LANE Digital listens very well to create what their clients need.

Amazing. We felt very confident the whole way through and now we have a brand with a strong website and social presence. Our branding colours and logo are all reflective out of unique brand story which Lane took time to really understand. We want to work with them again in the future to keep growing.

They were always their to support us and answer emails. They strategy was very productive and I always felt that we were making the most of our time

It's not their fault but it's Christmas break so the project is on hold. Looking forward to continuing in 2022 !

1. Audit of our website and identified all the problems that it contained -> LANE fixed and updated the website and boosted our SEO as well, as well as fixing technical problems.
2. LANE defined a new digital strategy for us, as it wasn't our domain nor our medium of delivery at the time. They created an action plan for us.
3. LANE implemented all the tools and reporting dashboards that we needed in order to understand better our online performances. They also took total ownership of some aspects of our business, as they exceed in the specific softwares and methods they use.
4. Monthly follow-up to our business, reporting and ongoing maintenance (both on our website, social media and lead generation campaigns).

My personal LinkedIn network has been multiplied by 10, which lead to dozens of new leads and contracts. All those newly acquired contacts and prospects enabled us to double our yearly revenue in 2021.

We had weekly meetings (Google Meet)with Céline and Théo, a lot of emails (they were very responsive), Google Drive sync all the time. The effectiveness was optimal as we organized ourselves with a very strict regularity, which enabled us to develop our business as if it was a routine.

The diversity of tools they are able to use, every time, in the best scenario possible. Every time we have a problem or issue, LANE Digital Consulting has the perfect digital solution to provide to us.

The social media content has become a little redundant lately as most of the focus has been on lead generation campaigns. We would have liked to create a bit more content rather than sharing existing content on our social media platforms.

We have been working for almost 2 years with LANE. We started with defining an omnichannel digital marketing strategy. They have started by working on the branding, then the website (design, content & SEO) and finally on social media and acquisition of new clients. They redesigned our wordpress website that now looks more modern, then implemented Hubspot as a CRM and created automations with Zapier.

To be honest, we come back from a long way in terms of marketing. We had nothing, and now we are ranked on the first page of Google for portage entrepreneurial. We also have an audience of more than 2000 people subscribed on social media and our newsletter. In terms of sales, we have doubled the number of clients and get more leads.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Pretty smooth, the weekly updates makes it easy to track the progress made. Sometimes deadlines were a bit pushed but nothing that impacted the overall flow of projects.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They're a one-stop-shop for all our digital needs, not only marketing. They have a good understanding of all our apps ecosystem.

Overall it took a lot of time to get the recognition and visibility that we now have. But I guess everything takes time to build.

We were struggling with our internal processes and noticed a poor organization within the team in comparison to the very high demand we had this summer. We needed help to improve our internal communication and organization. We hired them to review our current processes and offer solutions or tools which would enable us to be more efficient in terms of customer management, internal communication, and project planning.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

One of our instructors for the season was from Switzerland and had heard of Lane's CEO through a friend. He contacted her in order to organize a call with the managers of the school. After hearing Lane's presentation, we were convinced by their dynamism, affordability for a Swiss company and the diversity of clients they work with on a daily basis.

Lane started by organizing two online meetings with us in order to determine the problems that we faced pre-implementation. The goal was to identify potential areas of improvement which would make our kite season easier to handle with such a high demand.

After those discussions, we determined that the focus should be put on improving the tools and processes that we had at the time, and not to focus too much on the digital marketing and website side of things (our website being already optimized and well referenced and our social media too). The 2 main problems identified were the latter: - Lack of coordination within the team when it comes to clients' database and daily tasks within the school.

Everything we organized was via a WhatsApp group, and any instructor who would register a new client would write it on paper. That was obviously not optimized and resulted in a poor organization, stress and lost clients. - Customer loyalty and followup: Because of our poorly organize and mostly paper written database of clients, we struggled to stay in touch with them in order to see them come back the following year.

Lane identified a sollution for this problem as well. Once the offer was signed, Lane started by initiating our team to ClickUp, a project management tool they partner up with which they feel was the perfect fit for our 1st problem. It would enable us to create different projects and lists (tasks) in order to simplify the delegation of chores to do in the school as well as keep track of our clients digitally.

They coached us for a month, once a week, through videoconferences and quizzes they created. They initially setup our first workspace for us, with 3 different projects: School tasks, Clients and Marketing. The first one would contain all of the tasks that needed to be done in the school, from cleaning the windsurf area to fixing kites. Lane taught us how to assign certain people to certain tasks, fix deadlines, setup priority tasks, ...

Two months and a half after we started, our team felt confident enough with ClickUp for the limited use that we used it for in to carry on without Lane. In the meantime, Lane was also setting up automations which would be linked to the newly created database within ClickUp to automate emails to potential clients or existing customers. Everytime a client would finish his lesson pack, his status in ClickUp would change from "In progress" to "Finished", which would trigger an email thanking him for taking classes with us.

The 2 main people who worked with us from Lane were Céline Arethens, the founder and CEO of Lane, as well as Amrita, a project manager who we were in contact with a lot through emails.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There were Various positive results we observed after having worked with Lane: - Radical increase in the amount of work done to better the school: new shower was setup, all the painting was renewed, more than 30 kites were fixed, new gear was bought, daily cleaning of the club before opening was always checked. - More than twice as many positive Google reviews as the 2020 summer season: 23 in 2020 vs 48 in 2021. 

Only 7 clients lost due to tight schedules or cancellations, vs more than 20 last summer. - Less stress or arguments within the team thanks to better overview and clarity with ClickUp.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We always had two people from our side in the online meetings, myself (school manager and instructor) and the receptionist/co-founder of the school. We met through Google Meet invitations which Lane sent each week in advance, with a summary of what was to be achieved during the meeting/coaching.

We mainly discussed with them through email the rest of the time, as well as a few calls here and there. The workflow was very good overall, despite the tight schedule on our side (kite classes finish at 6pm). The deadlines were always met and communicated well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The ability for such a young team to identify the areas of improvement where results could really be obtained quickly. Many digital marketing or consulting companies could have tried to sell us services for content creation, social media management or website maintenance/improvement. Instead, Lane decided to focus on areas which would lead to long term improvement. Their reactivity and flexibility were highly appreciated, as they had adapted to our working schedules.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

One thing that we recently realize we still need to adopt is an internal communication tool. With such a big team, we'd rather separate professional and personal communication. They could have identified that earlier, but we were not very vocal about it.

Via the WIX Marketiplace. Initially it was only for our website but in the end we realized that this company had the necessary skills to develop our online presence.

First of all, we went through a discovery phase to share our goal and our material resources. They then developed a two-part digital strategy, focusing on writing email and social media ads. They ensured that we could have clear visibility into our click-through rates. and also that our social media ads have clear CTAs with quantifiable results.

The email campaigns have been very successful. We had an 80% open rate, the highest we have ever seen, and a 73% click-through rate. The combined emails and ads generated a great conversion rate.
