BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

KJ Yard Cards is a locally owned and operated yard greeting rental service in Lake County, FL. Our Mission is to provide affordable and trendy celebrations to your yard for every occasion. I own the company and started it in November of 2020.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Lake County Computers, and what were your goals?

I needed a website where my customers could choose what party rental they like, book for the date needed and pay online, all while controlling inventory. Lake County Computers had begun a subsidiary that focused on my business specifically.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I chose the LCC team because they had working examples of what they were building and selling. They're system let me design my products in a way that I could SEO the pages directly. All the other "booking" systems were out of the box in a sense and could not be customized to the extent I needed.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Lake County Computers designed and developed KJ Yard Card’s web-based application with ease of use in mind for end users. Integrated booking module, Point of sale commerce and custom programming were used to bring all the pieces together for a functional, industry-specific application. Before inception, the web development team mapped out the data flow to ensure customers and owners could navigate pages easily, find products, book for a certain date and pay. After the initial storyboarding, they put together an alpha test and we were more than happy! A few tweaks here, a few there, and the team had a solid application that my testers loved.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I believe there three individuals involved... Owner/operator who was hands on, programmer and web / SEO manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After our site launch, we began selling that night... and have not stopped! Proof enough for me.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Not sure how to measure their style compared to others in the industry as I have never hired a web team before... but everything they said they would do, they did. Everything they said would happen, happened! Professional guidance and honesty. Much appreciated.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I liked that they were knowledgeable about my business and industry. They offered ideas and solutions, not fast talk and empty promises, like so many others I read about.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

NO. They nailed it.
