- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Dec 16, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: With Krative’s help, the dispensary became the first in the state to offer online ordering, a feature that helped them earn $10,000,000 in sales over the course of five years. Along the way, the team was professional, nimble, and talented, encouraging a consistent and successful partnership.
""Krative’s foresight and quality of work was remarkable."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the former owner of The Healing Corner, a medical marijuana dispensary.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Krative?

Krative helped me start up and launch the company.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Once I was granted a license by the state of Connecticut, Krative helped me with branding and PR. They helped with everything from the logo, tagline, and brochures, so that patients would know how to use the website. The team also designed my website and got it up and running, set up with online ordering.

What is the team composition?

I worked with about three members of their team.

How did you come to work with Krative?

I was doing my own investigation into marketing companies. I wanted to stay local so I could work with them personally, and I came across Krative. At first, I thought they were going to be too small for us, but they assured me they were the right choice.

How much have you invested with them?

We probably spent around $400,000 over the course of the engagement. I paid them in monthly installments.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2014, and launched in September of that year. We continued to work together until the company was bought and I left, and Krative is still working with the new ownership.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

During the time Krative helped us grow, we went from opening our doors with zero sales to over $10,000,000 in sales over five years. The team was able to handle our growth every step of the way. Even though we got out of the gate so quickly, they kept our platform growing along with it. We were also the first medical marijuana dispensary to have a website with online ordering set up.

How did Krative perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great. Krative was always there when we needed them. Our online ordering system was up 24 hours a day, and if we had any issues with it, they would take care of it, no matter what time of the day it was.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with the quality of their work. I was always blown away by everything they did, from video production to the website work. The logo turned out to be wonderful. Krative’s foresight and quality of work was remarkable. Everything was beautifully and professionally done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work with them. They have the minds and the capabilities to make your business successful. I put my trust in them, and I was successful as a result of it. Krative was an integral part of our growth.

**The Review** — Nov 9, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The updated branding elements have been warmly received by website visitors and helped the client triple their revenue. With Krative communicating clearly and always meeting deadlines, the partnership has proceeded swimmingly for more than seven years. Their deliverables are unique to company needs.
"“They understand our problems and genuinely invest in our company goals.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president and CEO of a company that provides consulting services for small businesses and municipal governments around the United States. We focus on the retirement space, helping clients design retirement plans for their employees.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Krative?

We initially hired them for branding work, needing to better define our ideal clients.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They worked with us on branding exercises, logos, and our overall look and feel across the entire brand. Initially, we used their branding exercises to get clarity around what our brand should be around our audience. We developed a new name and created a logo and color scheme based on that.

From there, they poured all of our new brand assets into a new website. In that process, they made sure they were targeting the right personas and left us with branding guidelines so that all of our future design work aligns with our new brand image.

Since then, they provide ongoing marketing support wherever needed. If we have brochures, website landing pages, or outreach needs, we can reach out to them.

What is the team composition?

There were three people working on the project, including Rick (Founder). Rick guided us through much of the creative process, helping us through brand exercises.

How did you come to work with Krative?

I interviewed various types of branding firms to find the best fit for our team. They were proactive and appeared to be able to produce unique work that would differentiate us in the market.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $100,000 with them over the years.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since February 2013.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our revenue has tripled since they started working with us. Additionally, our clients always remark on how much they enjoy the look and feel of the product. That’s part of why continue working together.

How did Krative perform from a project management standpoint?

If either of our teams set a deadline, it’s always met on their end. We’ve never had a problem with communication or project management. They lay out clear plans for projects, and the only delays are on our end.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their level of service and ability to deliver unique products impresses me the most. When they complete marketing materials, they feel true to our brand and company. They understand our problems and genuinely invest in our company goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be nice if they had Salesforce resources. We currently handle Salesforce with in-house resources, but it would be great if we could leverage their services for those needs.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about your goals and define your desired outcome. If you’re clear on that, they can definitely deliver for you.

**The Review** — Nov 9, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Since beginning the partnership with the Krative team, the company has noticed more engagement with their website as well as an increase in the number of marketing materials that they can use to become more memorable to potential clients. The team took the time to understand the company's market.
""I am most impressed with the research Rick's team did to understand who we are and who our residents are."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Chief Community Officer for Franklin Communities. We own and manage 1253 apartment homes in the Greater New Haven region of CT. Franklin Communities is a family-owned business.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Krative?

We owned several apartment communities in the Greater New Haven region but did not have a brand that tied them all together. We hired Krative to help us understand what our customers valued, what we valued, and what direction our brand should go.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a brand for 7 different apartment communities. This included understanding our values and our residents' values before we could move forward. Krative held a resident event where they spoke directly with our residents to find out why they lived with us and why they kept renewing their leases year to year.

After this event, Krative was able to design an appropriate logo, font, and color scheme for our brand. We also needed them to create a new website and all new marketing collateral for us to give to prospects.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select Krative?

Krative was recommended to us by the former marketing company AdTaxi. Once we met Rick Callahan, we knew it would be a great fit.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

Brand, logos, tagline, website, brochures, referral cards, accordion brochures, property specific sheets

What was the team composition?

We worked directly with Rick and Samantha.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since working with Krative, we have more people engaging our website than before. We also have marketing products to hand out to prospects so they can remember our application policies, referral program, and community features.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We met with Rick and Samantha at our property and theirs. In the beginning, we met in person, then we were able to work on finishing touches over email and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I am most impressed with the research Rick's team did to understand who we are and who our residents are. They didn't want to tell us who we were, they wanted to hear it straight from our customers. They made a long survey for our residents and rated features of our business that were most important to them.

After this, they were able to create a brand logo, tagline, an easy to navigate website, and additional marketing collateral.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The team did a great job. They were transparent with timelines and goals. If there was ever an issue we wanted to be changed, Krative quickly resolved it.
