What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We now have more than 25 country stores in 16 languages, all run from one backend by the same team we had when we only sold in one country. We have a catalog of several hundred thousand product pages kept up to date by the AI pipeline. Updating content for a new language used to take weeks of manual work; now, it runs overnight.Our stock is synced automatically with our suppliers several times a day, so overselling and manual stock checks have basically disappeared. Opening a new country store now goes from being a project to being a matter of days. We’ve launched two new markets recently with zero extra staff.Our deployments have zero downtime, and our store has stayed fast and stable while the catalog and the number of stores have kept growing. The AI chatbot is the newest piece. From day one, it answers product, shipping, and order questions on its own in every language. We can review every conversation and its cost from the admin.We track the following numbers:Comparing January–July 2023 against the same period in 2022, completed and shipped orders are up more than 8x. A year ago, orders came from five of our stores; today, they come from 15 different country stores, three times as many markets, including places like Finland or Norway, where selling anything was simply unthinkable for us before. Revenue for the same period grew almost 6x.We don’t have clean funnel data to quote on conversion, but retention-wise, the pattern we like is that new markets start producing orders within weeks of going live, which tells us the localized stores are doing their job.

How did Kiwop perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project management is straightforward and refreshingly light on ceremony. We don’t have endless meetings. We explain what we need in plain language, Kiwop comes back with a plan and a date, and the date holds. Communication is direct and fast. They understand the business side, so we never have to translate our problems into technical language.On deadlines, they don’t just deliver on time; they regularly deliver early. Things we expect to take weeks have landed in days. The AI chatbot went from idea to live on all our stores in a couple of days. Honestly, sometimes we joke that we don’t know what they’re running behind the scenes to move this fast. Part of the answer is that they work AI-first in their own workflow too, and it shows in the pace without hurting the quality.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Three things. First, how far ahead they are with AI — not as a buzzword but wired into real operations, from product content to stock, support, and even our profit reporting. Every time we think, “This probably cannot be automated,” they automate it.Second, their technical depth. The same small team handles Magento internals, servers, caching, SEO, and AI integrations, so nothing ever falls between two vendors, and nobody says, “That’s not our part.”Third, they’re proactive. Half of the best things on our store were their idea, not ours. They come to us with, “We could do this, and it would save you X,” before we even know we need it. They also warn us honestly when something we ask for isn’t worth the money. For a small business, having a partner that thinks about your margins like their own is the most valuable part.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Honestly, very little. If we had to pick something, they sometimes move faster than our ability to keep up. There have been times when we’ve discovered a new improvement was already live before we had fully digested the previous one. As non-technical people, we’d benefit from a short, plain-language summary of what changed each month and why it matters. We’ve mentioned it, and they’ve been getting better at it. It’s a comfortable complaint to have, but it’s the honest one.
