Our goal was to create a presentation to help a nonprofit raise money for a special project called GIFT (Green Industry Funded Training).

KingFish + Partners was engaged to develop a persuasive, entertaining, and professionally designed investor presentation on behalf of Alchemy League to support fundraising efforts for GIFT. GIFT was established as an educational platform dedicated to preparing the next generation of cannabis entrepreneurs and industry professionals. The program was designed to provide comprehensive, real-world training across all facets of the legal cannabis industry, including cultivation, manufacturing, retail operations, compliance, marketing, business development, and entrepreneurship.KingFish + Partners' role extended beyond presentation design. The team worked to distill Alchemy League's vision into a compelling narrative that clearly communicated the organization's mission, market opportunity, social impact, and long-term sustainability. The presentation was crafted to resonate with potential investors, strategic partners, and community stakeholders by balancing business fundamentals with the broader goal of creating pathways to success within the rapidly growing cannabis sector.The resulting presentation highlighted GIFT's unique position as both a workforce development initiative and an entrepreneurial training program. It demonstrated how the organization could help address industry talent shortages, create economic opportunities in underserved communities, and foster a new generation of responsible cannabis business leaders. Alchemy League was delivered a spectacular investor presentation. Exactly what they asked for and exactly what KingFish + Partners promised. Funds were raised. The presentation was the engine of the project. It brought the project to life, made it real, and people took Alchemy League seriously.

When I joined the company, we needed to both overhaul how we talked about ourselves and physically we needed to overhaul an aging website in 2020 on old infrastructure. While not rebranding, we also needed to develop new brand messaging while improving the scaffolding underneath. It has since been completely overhauled again, but served us well during the pandemic and beyond.

One of the strategic initiatives is to onboard and develop newer registered reps within the New York Life Agency channel. The core goal is to establish relationships early and deliver value through structured training, education, and ongoing support.

Deliverables:

• Welcome Kit & Touchpoints — A structured cadence of outreach to introduce new reps to New York Life Investments, nurture relationships through milestone recognition and maintain "always-on" marketing engagement. 

• Training & Education — Early access to foundational resources, including educational flyers, e-books and Boot Camp training modules on investment concepts like asset allocation and value-added concepts so reps can have client conversations and incorporate investments into their practice. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Collectively, the initiatives increased Reg Rep awareness and engagement, strengthened relationships with our sales team and drove greater adoption of our funds. We also introduced the "Circle of Success" video series featuring top producers and an effort that was highly praised in the field. Kingfish played a key role in shaping the strategy and execution. In addition, we developed the Boot Camp "Foundations of Investments" training series, which remains in use today as a valuable resource and effective entry point for our sales team to engage with advisors in general offices. Our first project "Keep Building" Welcome Kit campaign received a Silver Davey Award in 2018 for creative which says a lot working that Kingfish.

They are highly responsive and consistently met tight deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail. Their disciplined project management approach ensured clear prioritization and seamless execution of tasks. We maintained regular virtual check ins and ongoing email communication which helped quickly resolve questions and keep projects moving forward efficiently.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stands out most with Kingfish is their ability to pair strong execution with a highly collaborative approach. Also, the team is personable, proactive and a genuine pleasure to work with.

I believe our design team had issues with the native files provided by Kingfish. The files were not created in a way that could easily be updated and had to recreate some of the files. It seemed as if their designer was piecing items together in Illustrator rather than building them correctly in InDesign.

Kingfish partnered with FKO on a full organizational rebrand and website redesign project. At the time, our logo and branding was outdated and did not reflect the energy, professionalism, and heart of our organization. From the very beginning, the Kingfish team took the time to truly get to know FKO, including our mission, our values, the children and families we serve, and the vision we had for our future.

The scope of work initially focused on redesigning our logo and creating a comprehensive brand identity and style guide. However, the project evolved into much more than a traditional rebrand. Through thoughtful conversations and deep listening, Kingfish helped us articulate who we are as an organization in a way we had never fully done before. One of the most meaningful outcomes of the process was the creation of the phrase “What’s Your Heartprint?” This message has since become deeply embedded in FKO’s culture and mission and continues to guide our work with children, families, and staff every day. 

Following the rebrand, Kingfish designed and developed a new website for FKO using WordPress. The website was intentionally built to be visually engaging, easy to navigate, and manageable for our internal team to maintain and update independently.

Key deliverables included a redesigned logo, brand standards guide, messaging support, custom website design, WordPress development, and training/support to ensure long-term usability for our organization. The final product was not only beautiful and professional, but deeply personal to who we are as an organization. Kingfish gave us more than a new logo and website. They helped us find the language and identity that continues to shape our organization years later.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

From an external perspective, FKO experienced increased website traffic, stronger community visibility, and greater overall brand recognition. The updated website provided a much more professional and engaging online presence for families, school partners, funders, and community members, while also making it easier for prospective families and employees to learn about our programs and connect with our organization.

Internally, the impact was even more significant. The new branding gave FKO a clearer and more unified identity that our staff, children, and families genuinely connected with. In particular, the phrase “What’s Your Heartprint?” became far more than a marketing message. It evolved into a meaningful part of our organizational culture and is now regularly incorporated into staff training, program activities, family engagement, and organizational messaging. It gave us language that reflects the heart behind our work and created a stronger sense of belonging and shared purpose across the organization.

Kingfish’s project management was exceptional from start to finish. They utilized Basecamp throughout the project, which made communication, timelines, feedback, and deliverables incredibly organized and easy to manage. At every stage of the process, the Kingfish team was responsive, proactive, and transparent about next steps and deadlines.

The King Fish team consistently went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met. What stood out most was how thoughtful and collaborative they were throughout the entire experience. They listened carefully, welcomed feedback, and made us feel like true partners in the process rather than just clients. 

Beyond their professionalism, the entire team was genuinely a joy to work with. They brought creativity, positivity, patience, and kindness to every interaction. We always felt supported, understood, and valued by their team.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

It was literally a 2.0 reboot of our company. The project completed, we were able to solve problems for future customers that  we would never have met without KingFish's debut of our final sculpural quality digitial represenation.

It was like an internal race between the two teams and a competition to generate the highest quality output. I confessed that I felt bad about the "design not chosen" but I remain in contact with the designer of the non-chosen output.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I'm looking for a way that Clutch can allow me to upload a photo or video. Instead I'll describe  one of many of the creative outputs that had a startling effect on me: we are proud of our hand-created logo (a seaplane buzzing by a cliff-side mansion). Dylan thought to capture the image and turn it into an opaque watermark that crosses our digitial output in floating manner; ironic becuase a seaplane is also referred to as a float plane. This was just one of many over-the-top accessories created in the project.

I'll intro KingFish whenever I see someone isn't shopping for the lowest price but is instead seeking a partner to achieve goals that in other cases may be unobtainable, at any cost.

Are there any areas for improvement or something KingFish + Partners could have done differently?

Sure.

I could have met them 10 years earlier.

If I had done so, the resulting revenue from the work they did for my company would have arrived sooner and allowed me to pay for my kids college with less loans and for me to retire earlier.
