We needed some help marketing because we operate in such a small niche but are more in demand than ever and wanted to help as many people find out about us as possible.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a very minimal baseline understanding of what we needed to accomplish for our website, but JSL really brought more of the background and information on the process to help us understand what that really meant.
They gave us a robust proposition of services and let us decide what we wanted to do, and we ended up extending the project into a rebranding and refresh of our logo. From there, we went to website reorganization, SEO, and social media marketing.

I worked with a few different members of their team over the course of the work. My main point of contact was the principal of their company, but he would pull in other people for various questions and tasks that they had the specific expertise to handle.

I reached out to three companies about an initial website redesign, and JSL responded within hours and gave by far the most detailed and attentive response, so we decided that we wanted to give their services a try.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Initially, when we launched the website with the new brand standards, the first layer of feedback we got was from our own employees. They were all very impressed and like that it’s a much more clean, modern site. We’ve gotten some compliments from other companies as well who really like the way it looks and flows.
We’ve also seen an upward trend in our likes and engagement on social media, which is really good for the length of time we’ve been active there. A big part of our business requirement is visibility, so we’re very happy that we are seeing that already.

We communicate primarily through web conferencing or emails, and they actually help to keep our team on task more than anything. I’ve had some issues with scheduling, but they’ve been extremely patient, and I never once felt like I was asking stupid questions because they always make a point of answering you quickly and thoroughly no matter what your request.

Their responsiveness, both in answering questions and in addressing any feedback that you provide to them, has been really helpful. It seems like on some issues they are able to take care of things instantaneously.
Not only that, but if the feedback has some sort of potential implications down the road, they are always quick to explain why they were doing things a certain way and how we could potentially address our concern in a different way.

How did you select this vendor?
We requested quotes from several companies. JSL was competitive and extremely informative. The JSL team and mission was most aligned with our company structure and values.

We had an initial conversations to review our business with their team. To make sure all parties were together on the process and goals for the whole project. We provided our literature and collateral materials. Initially, we started with the rebranding process.
They provided 3 options for new logos - one that was most similar to our previous, one that was drastically different and one in between the two. We provided feedback from our team and narrowed down the options to 2. Then were provided 2 options based on feedback. We then settled on one, with some edits on overall look and color schemes.
The process was surprisingly quick, just a few weeks (and could have been quicker had it not been during the holiday season and us providing feedback sooner). Once we finalized and approved, we were provided logos and new brand standards within a few days. And it was on to the website rebranding process.
They provided a basic framework/template of the website and then applied the new brand standards to the framework. I then worked with the team on content. We already had the content, which we just need to make edits and make current.
JSL provided guidelines for the content to ensure that it would be optimized for SEO, based on keywords that we established based on research and analytics that JSL provided. Overall, the websites design was relatively painless process. The team was extremely patient with me and would quickly respond to all questions and helped me better understand the back end process and logic that is involved.
I came out of the process so much more knowledgeable about the work and process. So grateful that they didn't just do the work but took the time to explain the why, how and various logistics to ensure that I understood the full scope. The website was done simultaneously with the social media marketing services to ensure that both worked together.
As mentioned earlier, the keywords were established early on and provided the base for moving forward with SEO and social media. We continue to work with JSL on SEO and social media. They provide weekly proposed social media posts for approval. They have been pretty spot on every week. We also get a monthly content calendar for blog posts.
What was the team composition?
I worked with the principals and other leads in the various areas. I have 2 primary contacts, but everyone has been very willing to answer questions and guide me through the process. Never once get passed off to someone. JSL is genuinely a team effort and I always feel comfortable to ask to weird question, and they are happy to answer and give me the knowledge or background to fully understand the process.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have received numerous compliments for our employees and others outside of the organization on the new look of the logo and website. We are seeing significant increases in views and engagement on our social media pages. It has only been about 6-7 weeks, but we fully expect to see these trends to increase.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The team was an absolute delight to work with. Again, indulged me and my questions and never made me feel as if I was wasting their time. Really wanted to make sure that I understood the whole scope of what they were doing and why it was important for it to be done.

Their responsiveness is always quick. Never had to wait days for a response or update. I was very nervous about the whole process in the beginning because of my lack of knowledge. JSL quickly was able to reassure me, which primarily for me is knowledge and understanding.

We had an outdated website in an unusable WordPress template. We wanted to redesign our website in a new WordPress format.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We discussed the scope of work with them, and we made sure they were clear on everything we wanted. After a few weeks of planning, we got to work. We provided all the content, and they focused on creating an updated design and easier backend use for our staff. They also added WooCommerce functionality to the site. Because of the way we sell our products, we needed some pages to look one way, and our quoting pages to look another way.
We shared all our content via Dropbox, and all our images migrated over from our old site. They moved everything to a staging site, and we worked through three revisions. I sent itemized lists for changes and feedback, and they helped us launch once we were happy with everything.

We worked primarily with two people.

We did an RFP, and we sent that document to about ten companies. They were one of our top candidates from the start. I liked the websites they'd done previously, and they're local to us. The project started around April 2019, and the site was completely finished by July or August 2019. We were happy with their progress.

We've had good internal and external feedback for the site. Right now, we're just starting our e-commerce process with a few products, and we're integrating a new ERP this year. We've already had some success, and the look and feel of the site is very nice. It's much easier to use and manage than the previous site.

During the busiest portion, we communicated multiple times a day. We were in touch once a day in the bigger parts of the move, and we spoke once a week when we were working on edits. We were really happy with their communication, and they always answered our questions within 24 hours. Most of our interactions were over email or by phone.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They met all our needs, and they went above and beyond. They were always willing to help and answer questions. I'm so excited by how user-friendly the administrative tools are. The difference is night and day.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of any areas of improvement for them. It might be helpful to have a project management tool, but that might not make the process any easier. I was very pleased with my whole experience with them.

Make sure your content sounds, looks, and feels right before you get started. If we were to do this again, we would have spent more time working on our content, or we would have hired them to help us build new content during the project.

JSL Marketing & Web Design was tasked with rebranding every aspect of our community. During the first phase, they designed a new logo and incorporated the theme into the city’s bills, statements, business cards, letterheads, employee signatures, and official seal. Since defining our new look, they have moved on to building our new website per state requirements. Residents will be able to view utility statements and pay bills securely through the site. They will also produce, write, and distribute six-page newsletters every quarter for the next five quarters. We’re currently working on hosting arrangements to maintain our backend infrastructure. We also plan to use them to manage our media contacts and create artwork for our new facilities.

There are typically eight individuals working on our account. Their two business owners serve as our primary contacts, along with their brand coordinator and graphic design artist and their web site consultant.

They came on board in September 2018. The branding work is complete, and the website and newsletter are scheduled to launch in January 2019.

The workflow communication has been great. We always get a response to our emails and questions within 24 hours as there are multiple team members who are capable of assisting with any issues.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The most impressive thing is their honesty. If there was something I wanted, but it was not something they were capable of, or comfortable doing, they would tell me.
In the past, we’ve had a number of issues with other companies claiming they could do something they weren’t actually capable of, which resulted in a sub-par product and wasted money.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Everything we've asked of them has been done in a timely and professional manner. We’re looking forward to seeing what kind of results we’ll get from the SEO and PPC.

I’m the manager at VIP Finance of Texas, Inc. We’re a small and family-owned title loan company. I manage and help with all the marketing and IT.

What challenge were you trying to address with JSL Marketing & Web Design?
We relied very heavily on a PPC strategy for attracting customers, but Google blocked any type of loan companies from doing it. Since we weren’t very focused on our website, we were way down in a very competitive market.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We had an introductory call and discussed what we were looking for, after which they did some keyword research and we showed them the ones we were using for our PPC. They began working on our SEO strategy to try to bring us up in organic search results. They also added some content to our website and started building us Facebook and Twitter accounts.
We started seeing really good results. At that point, we decided to redesign the webpage because the person in charge of it was with us no longer and it was eight or nine years old, which didn’t contribute to SEO results. They’ve been on that for about two weeks now and also handle some content marketing.
What is the team composition?
I’ve had contact with James (CEO & SEO Director, JSL Marketing & Web Design) as well as with their creative director/president. Their social media marketing manager ran our SEO campaign along with their web designer.
How did you come to work with JSL Marketing & Web Design?
We did an online search and checked reviews. We wanted someone local that could attend in-person meetings if needed. We looked at a couple of larger companies around here but they didn’t listen to us when we told them what we wanted. James’ proposal really pinpointed what we talked about, and you could tell he listened to us, whereas the larger companies just sent us a generic proposal.

We started working together in April 2018 and the collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve seen a sizeable increase in our rankings, and first page results are up. We’re looking at 72 keywords and most of them have moved up in ranking. Some of them moved up and dropped back down because our competitors have really stepped up too. We’ve seen a drastic increase in our search result rankings, our phones are ringing more, and our business has picked up. The website redesign will help even more with conversions.
How did JSL Marketing & Web Design perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve done great. I was expecting really slow results and about a year to really see a difference. We started seeing increased rankings and phone calls within a month to six weeks. We are in contact daily, or as few times as twice a week. We’ve mainly discussed things over the phone, but I have met James in person once.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The speed at which we’ve seen results really shocked me. We started out with a three-month contract and we renewed it because we’ve been very happy with the results we’re receiving. James might not have the whole salesman side to him as the large companies do, but he knows his stuff and is more technical and results-oriented.
