I’m the owner of H COM, an IT outsourcing company that works with computers and servers.

What challenge were you trying to address with JAVI solutions?

We needed help in developing an invoicing system.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Using PHP, JAVI solutions created the web app that now serves as our internal invoicing system.  They worked off of our specifications. They’ve also maintained the site throughout the years, implementing additional functionalities when needed.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with two people from their team, and I’m in touch with both of them.

How did you come to work with JAVI solutions?

They were recommended to me by a friend, who said good things about their team and products. To gauge their work, I hired them to develop a couple of smaller items. Since I was satisfied with their work, I decided to engage them for the invoicing system.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent between $10,000–$25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in October 2015, and the work is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve been very satisfied with their work; they took our requirements and successfully created the system we needed. They were quick to resolve any issues that came up. There were occasional delays at some checkpoints, but in the end, they developed a great product that we’re happy with. We’ve been using it for several years to do all of our invoicing work, and it’s worked really well.

How did JAVI solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Although we use Jira internally, we don’t use a project management tool with them. We made a plan and modules at the beginning and went from there.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a dedicated, responsible team. They’ve consistently shown commitment to the project’s success. While they weren’t always able to deliver on schedule, these delays had various causes. We managed them and were able to find a solution every time.

They’ve become a long-term partner of ours, who now does work for our own clients. Although some companies work through our company, we’ve encouraged our clients to work directly with them. They’re proven to be on top of project responsibility.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were times that I thought their time management could have been better. Most delays, though, weren’t entirely their fault. The work became increasingly complex, so they had a lot on their plate a lot of the time. Recently, they’ve completed all tasks on time, so it’s been great.

Let them know what you need, and they’ll find the best solution for you.

Please describe your company and your position there.

We provide training in these areas: health and safety at work, fire safety and health services. We also outsource staff to administrative work. We were founded in 2010, have single location in Bratislava - Slovakia. I am the company executive.

For what projects/services did your company hire JAVI solutions?

We did not have any way of tracking our contracts with our customers. Our contracts expired without our knowledge. Besides it was really hard to maintain our billing cycle, because everything was kept in paper form. We devoted a lot of energy to processes that should be simple.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal for this project was to introduce digital records of our documents with the ability to browse and filter them by selected search criteria. We also needed a way to get notified about various contract dates and deadlines. It was also required to simplify billing.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found them trough our business partner who recommended them to us. They introduced their pre-prepared solution for businesses like ours and described possible modifications and upgrades.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They developed, configured and launched a new backend business management solution. They used their pre-prepared solution, which they modified extensively to match our needs. They also helped us with development of our own working processes, that we were missing at that time.

What was the team composition?

We were in contact with single project manager and did not really know or care about other team members. We were really happy with this way of communication, because they did not overload us with communication outside of the scope of their project manager.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project really lowered the workload on every administrative employee in our company. The solution made tracking of our contract terms possible. Our employees get notified about approaching deadline in advance. Also billing has been simplified, so we know when and how much to bill our clients.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Progress was made regularly. There were few delays in feature development, but they were properly communicated by the project manager way ahead. Overall we were satisfied by their approach.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We appreciated their approach when the project started. Their analysis was thorough. Their solution draft gave us many options to customize the desired functionality.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Their area of expertise is really extensive considering that they are a small team of developers. I believe that if they grow to a bigger team, their range of technologies and solutions will widen accordingly.

I’m the managing director at ME-Inspection, a measuring and inspection service company.

What challenge were you trying to address with JAVI solutions?

We needed help with custom ERP development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provide development and maintenance service for our internal ERP software, working on our requirements, processes, and needs its timing, costs, and communication with our customers and suppliers.

Initially, we had a very small part of the ERP system developed in-house, but no time to continue with it, so JAVI solutions took over. It's now quite huge in comparison to what we started with and was built from scratch. It runs based on a website application, and is reachable over Firefox or Explorer, as well as accessible from iPhones.

What is the team composition?

There’s one person who is in direct contact with me and my team, with a few additional people working in the background.

How did you come to work with JAVI solutions?

I already knew the owners as very serious and professional people, so I started working with them when they established JAVI solutions.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2013 and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They produce solutions based on our needs. The ERP system is mostly automated, especially around checking the time people start on the project. It also automatically checks what kind of paperwork or invoices are needed, if the requested papers are uploaded, and the customer has provided everything and has been contacted. The logic behind it was described and defined by us, then JAVI solutions implemented it very well. It's helped improve and speed up our business processes.

How did JAVI solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They provide minutes from each of meeting we have with them, then we check the paper and make comments regarding their tasks. They ask us for the implementation and testing times we need and I'm very satisfied with their project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're very responsive. If something isn’t working properly, they solve the problem in an hour or two.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could find more resources, but that's a problem we have too.

We have a fair cooperation and they work in the timeline.
