A modern learning platform has been developed, offering multi-level courses of varying complexity, allowing users to gradually master the material according to their level of proficiency. The platform provides access to different types of lessons through an intuitive main menu and an interactive learning map. Users can engage with a variety of lesson formats, including scenario-based exercises, cards definition, theoretical materials, video lessons, perfect match activities and more. Additionally, the platform includes an offline mode, enabling users to save content and continue learning without an internet connection.

To enhance knowledge retention in IHL, a specialized application with a game-based map has been created. This app allows students to navigate through the map based on their progress, unlocking new scenarios and challenges as they advance. The application presents theoretical scenarios that depict various conditions and situations that may arise, helping users understand how to act appropriately in different circumstances. By combining structured learning with interactive elements, the platform and app create an engaging and effective educational experience.

1. UX/UI Design Development
ITjet undertook the task of developing a completely new UX/UI design for our platform. This included creating intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that enhance user experience. The design process involved wireframing, prototyping, and user testing to ensure the final product was both functional and user-friendly. Key deliverables in this phase included detailed design mockups, style guides, and interactive prototypes.

2. Sustainable and Scalable Database Development
To accommodate our growing data needs, ITjet designed and implemented a sustainable and scalable database. This database was built to handle large quantities of data efficiently, ensuring robust performance even as our data volume increased. Key deliverables included database architecture documentation, optimized database schemas, and implementation of data management best practices.

3. Advanced Functionalities Implementation

It is the ultimate software platform for HR management for both small and large enterprises - creating, sharing, and executing leadership improvement plans. It is being used to store employees and evaluate them by customisable assessment framework, manage teams, set strategic objectives, compare, analyse and see aggregated data of a single or multiple departments. 
It also has strict users permission scheme and role management functions to make sure that data is protected and available only to respective people. We have been developing the system for more than 4 years and itjet resources - front-end developer - was a great temporary asset to our company to deliver yet another release. Front-end developer provided by itjet was working on:

• data export functionality implementation for completed reviews (period selection, types, etc.); 
• reviewing code of another front-end developer;
• refactoring offers and implementation to speed up the building time, deployment process and have more effective requests handling; 
• dashboard improvements (analytics after evaluation - new parameters, tables, etc.);

We added the developer to our Slack channel. They demonstrated easy communication—always reachable during working hours. They did nothing blindly or superficially - if anything is not clear, they immediately consult and clarify. If anything takes longer than agreed, they inform in advance and share the reasons. They did not only did assigned tasks, but also suggested improvements seeing the code around. Participated in daily stand-up and demo calls.

The app was an idea in my head, written in a narrative, hand drawn diagrams, excel spreadsheet user flow - scrappy and early to say the least! The outcome was precisely what I need at this time. A tool I can use to move my project forward. I was pleased with Andrey's suggestion to create the no code prototype before heading into development work. Of all the teams I interviewed for this project he was the first to offer this. And it really was the right move for my project. Grateful for the honest and solid advice, rather than pressure to build too soon.

I'm the co-founder of a nonprofit tech startup. We build tools to help high school students get engaged in voting.

We hired itjet to build out a voter registration drive app that we had previously wireframed. We wanted to use this app to pilot our program in a variety of high schools to learn whether teachers could administer the program without any support from our organization.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected this vendor on the recommendation of one of our board members who had worked with them before. We were looking for high-polish products at an affordable cost.

We had a kickoff meeting to discuss our project goals. Next, we developed a written spec for itjet to execute on. After clarifying elements of the spec, itjet went to work developing the product. We reviewed progress on a weekly basis until the product was to our liking.

To my understanding, both of the itjet team members that worked with us were full stack engineers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

While the product did not ultimately appeal to our users the way we hoped it would, we were thrilled with itjet's work. The product was highly polished and professional and lent significant credibility to our organization.

To save money, we met with the team on an as-needed basis. Itjet was proactive in providing us with updates and sought out meetings when they needed clarification on an element of the project. We corresponded on slack regularly. Their deliverables were on time.

They were able to give us a high-quality product on a lean budget. What we were able to accomplish with them would have been impossible with most other development companies.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At one point, we had a miscommunication resulting in itjet overrunning our contract maximum. Fault was shared between us and them and we were able to resolve the disagreement thanks to their grace and professionalism.

For what projects/services did your company hire itjet, and what were your goals?

Itjet built our mobile app from scratch and did a PHENOMENAL job. Our platform is functionality rich, as it allows users to match, create group chats, host events and classes, and meetups that are native through the platform. Our goal was to launch with a product that is high quality and has all the functionalities we need to distinguish ourselves from competitors. Itjet exceeded all expectations.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We spoke with many dev teams, and were impressed by Uptech's portfolio of companies (Unilever, Dollar Shave Club, etc). Itjet is Uptech's React Native subsidiary, which we chose as it was more cost effective and we wanted to launch on both Android and iOS.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We first spoke with two members of the Itjet team, who estimated our scope of work and cost. The app was built with Node.js on the backend and React Native on the front end. The team worked in two-week sprints, and set detailed goals for each sprint.

We were able to work dynamically with the team when the scope of work changed, and they went above and beyond to meet our expectations and accommodate all the additional functionalities we needed. On our end, we periodically conducted code reviews through which developers found the code and architecture to be of high quality. Itjet delivered on all our functionalities and did a phenomenal job.

Our app is currently live on the App Store and will be officially launched in NYC in October 2021. We continue to work with them to refine functionality and maintain the product.

A project manager was assigned to our project, who coordinated communication via us and the team. We worked with two full stack developers, and one front end engineer. We were also able to work with a designer when we needed new frames designed. We were very happy with the team and how they went above and beyond to deliver an amazing product.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our app just launched last week, and we have already received 30+ 5 star reviews. Around 300 beta testers interacted with the product and were blown away by the quality. Many could not believe that this was a beta version as it looked and felt like apps like Instagram/Tinder/ etc.

Project management was very good. We communicated with the team via Slack, and they are extremely responsive and communicative (developers would even respond at 12/1 AM Ukraine time when we had any questions or concerns). They tracked projects and milestones using Jira. We met bi-weekly with the team and they would send us a build to interact with while they presented the build live and walked us through what was accomplished for the week.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The developers were incredibly intelligent. Our most senior developer had worked on he development of Wink, which is an extremely popular platform (200k+ app store reviews) and so he brought a lot of experience to the development process. We were most impressed by how the team did not just execute based on what we told them, but ideated with us as well on how to improve or streamline certain functionalities. This was incredibly helpful as we are not tech founders.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

More transparency about the testing process could have been helpful, but once we expressed this to the team they looped us in on exactly how our product was being tested internally.

Scale Development is a Norwegian company that provides e-commerce platform development. I’m the CEO.

What challenge were you trying to address with itjet?

My goal was to develop the world’s easiest online store platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

itjet developed the Supporter.no platform. It allows users to create their own web shop with a maximum of three clicks.

We built the code from scratch in Node.js and React. It’s not built on third-party platforms like WooCommerce or Magento, which makes the platform a lot more customizable. itjet consulted me initially on what code to build the platform on, based on my scaling vision. 

My goal was to make the platform as simple to use as possible, and to make it free for users. I did the initial UX design myself, and itjet consulted me on how to improve it.

What is the team composition?

I’m currently working with a QA tester and three full-time developers from itjet. I’m finishing a funding round, and I plan to double up itjet’s team after that.

How did you come to work with itjet?

I initially made an agreement with another Ukrainian company. Anton (Co-Founder) and Max (Co-Founder) were working there, and worked on my platform from day one. We had a six-month pause in development because of the previous funding round. I got back to that company to continue development, but I asked to pick my own team. 

They had different developers working on it, some of which had quit or become unavailable during my break. I asked for Max and Anton, and I was told they’d started their own company. I followed them to itjet because they’re amazing.

How much have you invested with them?

We’re up to $200,000–$300,000 so far, and our budget for the rest of the year is $100,000 more.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with itjet in June 2018, and I plan to continue the collaboration for a few more years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re now offering the platform to sports teams in Scandinavia, and we’re moving internationally during 2020. We’re also scaling this platform to charities, artists and bands, influencers, and other markets.

The valuation of Supporter.no is around $4 million, and the new Charity.shop and MusicMerch.shop sites, which are built on the same platform, are valued at $1 million altogether. Value-wise, my companies are worth $5 million after one year plus. It’s all based on the code of the platform, and its potential to scale up to other markets.

Their advice regarding how to build the platform was the best I could get at the time.

How did itjet perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve probably been the best team I’ve worked with in terms of project management. itjet documents and discusses everything, which was extremely important to me. Going into the project, I wanted to be able to go through the project every two weeks, and keep good documentation. 

We communicate almost all the time during the day. We share ideas and questions. It’s not a 9–5 collaboration; it’s all day. If they have a question, they can call me or write me on Slack. 

They have backlogs, and I can watch all development live, if I want to. I can go to Slack, Jira, and other places to track what’s ready for QA, for production, and so on. I feel I have 100% control on how they work, even though they’re not sitting here. I think that that’s very impressive. I didn’t ask for it; it’s just how they work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve never told me they didn’t know how to do something I asked for.  Their attitude is to always find a way to do it. If they see that what I’m asking for isn’t good for my company, if it wasn’t necessary for my users to have that option, itjet tells me about it, and consults me on what I should be focusing on. They took ownership of the platform and of the business idea, and that’s very impressive. I feel as though they’re my own team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wish they would come to Norway and work from my office. I go to Kiev four times a year to visit them, because I feel that’s very important. I think it was their first time having a client visit just to stop in and see how things were going. Now, we’ve already planned out what to do for my next trip, both in terms of workshops, but also what we can do together as a team to bond.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

The way this team connected my idea with functionalities, plans, and execution was very impressive. I couldn’t say no. If I was going to sell them to someone, I’d tell them that if they want a team that truly cares about their vision, but, at the same time, is willing to actually tell the client when they’re wrong and give them better ideas, that’s itjet.

As project manager, I oversee the development of the app that provides an athletic training platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with itjet?

I had been looking for app developers to take the idea from a concept to a reality. A different dev team had previously worked on the project, but the finished product did not encompass the concept nor was it functional and I could not introduce the delivered product into the market.  With itjet, they worked on implementing the concept into a functional product. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

itjet analyzed some of the previous issues and essentially had to scrap the entire database and recreate the app from scratch. We were able to salvage some of the database, but they did 85% of it from scratch in order to have the foundation for features that would be implemented later. itjet was responsible for all of the features from communication between account users to account creations; everything was completed by itjet. The finished product is compatible with both iOS and Android, as well as web based.

itjet brainstormed what was needed for an MVP, how to get it done within budget, and addressed the concerns on multiple platforms. 

How did you come to work with itjet?

I was referred by another developer. From the get-go, itjet recognized our concerns and addressed them when we originally met.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working together since July 2019 and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We aren’t in the market yet, but we’re really happy with them. It sounds simple, but they care and are personally invested to ensure the product works properly.

How did itjet perform from a project management standpoint?

itjet has been very good at communicating, always asking any questions that come up; we primarily communicate through Slack. If there are issues, they take time to hammer down details in order to develop it once rather than missing the proper vision and having to redo it.

They achieve our goals and stay within the budget while still being able to build on it in later versions. The dialog and communication are fluid, which is unique. They take time to learn and understand the project and are able to teach it to anyone new who joins their team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication and problem-solving skills are impressive. I’ve worked with other developers and a lot of them do not communicate with a client, which can be frustrating when contracting a development team. itjet excels in that regard and remains invested throughout the project. They truly care about our success.

A few times work estimates were more than anticipated, but they took accountability for it and worked to figure out options and solutions. They don’t rush through projects; its success equals their success. A personal connection is something that you want to see when contracting.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Ideally, we’d like to get all the bugs in one fell swoop, but obviously that doesn’t always happen. Even though it may take a few iterations of testing, I can’t really complain, when they put out a product, it works.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate with them. They like to communicate with a company and really understand the project. If you communicate with them, you’ll get your vision to materialize.
