The project was to help me create the designs and complete development work on the first production version of a video tool for recruiters. The deliverable was a well-designed, tested, production ready first version of the software tool including account creation and payments.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As standard for Itexus projects, it started with an in-depth estimation of work for each feature. This was laid out very clearly in an Excel spreadsheet. From there, we refined all the business logic for the software with approvals and documentation taking place in Confluence. Concurrent with this, the team designed the software with my input in Figma. 

From there, the team delivered on building the final product in accordance with the approved designs and system logic. At the end, we reviewed the final build together, made some final small changes, and launched the first version of the tool.

Itexus team was very timely with updates, a regular meeting cadence, and ad-hoc questions and answers via Slack. The team was very responsive and still is.

We talked with the team and showed them the current designs and guided them how we wanted the screen in terms of the colours and the style. Afterwards their team made some suggestions on which we also we some suggestions and we kept the communication going on, however sometimes there were some struggles but we were able to overcome it.

Finally when they finished the designs, we had the chance to go through it and leave comments about certain changes or things we would have liked and they made the changes which suited the user friendliness of the APP.

At the start it was only 1 designer but later on we set a deadlines so the project manager decided to assign 3 to 4 designers to take care of everything.

We were happy with the designs and how the team followed specific instructions to make the designs we wanted and now our in-house developers will take the designs and develop them.

The project manager replied fast and always available for meetings when needed, however it was a bit harder to communicate with the designers which lead to some misunderstanding but in general the communication was good.

Yes, I would say if the designers communicated a bit more and wrote down some notes when we were explaining to them what were our needs.

They have done an amazing job in our case, and I don't see much to suggest right now. Maybe on a bigger project we will have ideas for improvements, but for now everything has gone as expected.

We would have like to have progressed more quickly through the project, but sometimes that is no one's fault. If we were to do it over again I would ask for more detailed reporting on progress in order to better understand what is being worked on and what the roadblocks are.

Team completed numerous data integrations, implemented a dynamic UX, deployed it on the latest cloud infrastructure, and successfully launched the first version of the app with our users. The venture is expected to raise another round of funding off of this initial release.

The management team at Itexus is top notch and very proficient. Itexus project management also places a lot of emphasis on following a formal development process based on best practices which really helped improve stability and reliability.

The Itexus team leverages a modern technical product management stack including Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Github.

The people at Itexus are delightful to work with. I have been incredibly impressed by the team's willingness to adapt their process based on the needs of the project. We were a very particular client in terms of our technology, process, and communication preferences.

The team was always helpful and readily adapted. I also appreciated their focus on process improvement. If ever issues came up, Itexus treated us fairly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

For intensive consumer-facing applications, the team's process for generating technical requirements could have benefitted from a collaborative UX-first approach.

Working together to nail the UX and allowing the design to drive core requirements would have resulted in a mutual increase in efficiency during development. The team adapted as we learned.
