Shared Services Center of one of the biggest agri companies in the world. We cover areas such as business process analysis, data preparation, creation of interactive reports, as well as development and maintenance of key applications day-to-day company operations depend on. I am responsible for staffing as well as daily support for the teams in my Scrum Master's role.

ISOLUTION provides us experts in Java/Java EE development and QA. They are involved in multiple projects for various departments. All projects are run in Scrum with JIRA and Confluence support. The lead technologies are Java and Java EE. The landscape comprises WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle, MongoDB, EMS and APIGW.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Up to 11 people. Java/Jave EE developers and QEs.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

ISOLUTION is our partner since 2014 and we are very happy about the services they provide. Application we deliver and support are crucial for daily company operations therefore a high quality of services is of the key importance for us.

ISOLUTION employees became an integral part of our self-organizing Scrum teams. Communication tools are provided by our company.

An excellent customer service, professionalism and constant work toward establishing a true partnership.

I think it would be helpful if the developers could put a little bit more emphasis on better understanding of business and processes applications fits in.

Our core information system is supplied with batch files. When the frequency of such files inreased company decided to lunch web portal for communication and file exchange with data suppliers. This exchange had to be high secured. What was more, Company didn't have any web solution for communicating with B2B customers - most communication was conducted via email or help desk team.

We sent RFP to a group of BIK IT suppliers. Isolution designed most iteresting soultion and declared that the core functionallity will be delivered to customers in a 3 months. They also made a mock application during RFP process.

We had kick-off worhshop to discuss key objectives and to identify requirements. Than team delivered delivered application with core feature for first realase. After lunching core functionnality we have been working worked iteratively on next modules for Customers with new functionalities, each took about 3 months.

5-8 people. A project manager, application architect, ux designer and analyst, application developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After lunching our solution 90% of our Customers started to upoload their batch files throuht the new channel. Each day Customers uload to BIK up to 500 files (max size 2 GB).

Customer where very happy because of simplyfing batch files passing process. They love the new communication channel where they can monitor processung status of their batch files or can get notification about status change.

We had weekly status meetings with the project manager, daily workshops if necessary. Dev team had 2 week sprints with daily status. We used JIRA and emails.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have unique ogranization culture with fast feedback to the leaders and managers. Team architect quickly come up with solutions for our requirements. Application was designer with good patterns.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Work estimation should include product wariants i.e. simplest, more complicated etc.

What were your goals for this project?

Preparation and implementation an application enabling the registration and processing customer data, offering, premium calculation, handling underwriting processes, policy and portfolio management in the field of group insurance.

ISOLUTION as our proven business partner proposed solutions that solved our problems with solution delivered by other vendor at the time. This approach turned out to be the most advantageous for us.

Describe the project in detail.

The project was carried out according to the Waterfall methodology in several stages. The solution was implemented in the form of a web application based on JSF technology that integrates with our database systems created in the ORACLE technology stack. Cooperation on the project was successful, the application is still being developed and maintained by the Isolution team. Within a few years, the application has been adapted many times to the current business requirements.

The team was lead by Project Manager and consisted of Architect, Analyst, Tester and 3 to 5 members of developer team

The system architecture was redesigned and finally we got an effective and flexible tool that meets current challenges and business needs.

It would be beneficial to strengthen the area of functional analysis in terms of its form and complexity. This would improve the process of verification of requirements and final acceptance.

  • This module enables the creation and assignment of competencies and responsibilities to all employee files defined in the system. You can freely create categories and new competencies. Thanks to generic solutions used this is done without the need for system changes.
• Training
  • Allows you to create and conduct a training (PA) along with noting the results of the exams and the scope of the entire training.
• Partner companies
  • A module that enables the process of registering new intermediaries in the organization with their representatives and all their binding contracts
• Warehouse
  • A module that allows you to register purchased fixed assets such as computers, printers and laptops. It works with the application module in terms of their handling and acceptance/rejection.
• Tools

The Isolution team consisted of 27 people. The team was led by a PM and consisted of an architect, analysts, testers, a development team and DevOps.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The system allows for effective management of the entire organization. Implementing the solution provided by Isolution allowed for optimizing the processes throughout the entire organization.

The whole project was realized with Agile Method. Isolution addressed our needs on an ongoing basis. Thanks to the use of the Kanban board, we were able to evaluate the progress and results of our work on an ongoing basis. An agile approach allowed us to react to changes in the organization. The cooperation with Isolution was based on partnership and professionalism. This resulted in transparency, openness and high quality of the delivered work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

With a big team and even bigger tasks it is important to deliver work incrementally. Large modules will sometimes mean that once a part of the system is finished, you already have to consider changes in the law or organization that occurred in the meantime.

The BI system covers the following areas: Data Warehouse The data warehouse is a central place on the map of mFinanse internal systems, where data from all internal and external sources are prepared and then stored. OLAP cubes OLAP cubes is a solution that allows you to analyze data collected in a data warehouse using MS Excel spreadsheets Online Reports (Power BI) Predefined report sets available online and downloadable in "".xlsx"" format for further handling in MS Excel.

Vendor was selected in the tender process, the ISOLUTION offer appeared to be the most advantageous.

The project was driven using Scrum methodology. App was created in Web Application form which, thanks to PWA (Progressive Web Application) technology, can be installed also from Google Play Store. The project did not finish once the app creation was completed, the app is still maintained. For now the app can be used only in Warsaw, however there are plans to introduce other cities.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thanks to the implementation of the mobile application awareness of energy efficiency for buildings significant rises. In the International Group it was the first implementation of such approach for open communication of the services. It was digital implementation of the year countrywide and in the CEE Zone of the Group. Time to accomplish all the project taks was met and it was extremely short for such complicated implementation.

Strong Database Architect and competences to integrate systems are impressive. ISOLUTION's opening for the support of a local IT team is significant.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive during the project was their flexible approach and high responsiveness to customer needs.

Reporting of the AGILE project might be performed better, implementation of the dedicated system for this purpose is needed.

Isolution was selected based on previous cooperation history - smaller projects delivered successfully. Quality vs. cots was another factor.

The first milestone was to set-up the environment allowing to run new business streams, which was done on time with expected quality. The next was to enable new CRM implementation with new BackOffices supportive processes ready - on time as well.
