This project entails creating java applications that would be deployed to our both our GCP environment and on prem servers. Setting up the DevOps pipelines for maintaining quality and deployment. Then also adding functionality to the applications using agile methodologies.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Firstly our dev environment is now setup in a way that can easily replicated for multiple QA and Production environments. We have already added most of the required features to the product and are now updating based on internal feedback.

We have been working together closely since the start of the project. We tend to have daily startup meetings to discuss objectives and track progress via GitLab's issue tracking.

Their knowledge of cloud services and processes has been most valuable. Also their security standards are first rate.

I'm the CTO and Co-Founder of Skylight IPV, a provider of consensus based pricing for major financial and commodities derivatives markets.

For what projects/services did your company hire iScaleIT Solutions?

We wanted to improve the security and efficiency of our infrastructure and development cycle by reorganising our infrastructure and implementing it with Terraform in a Continuous integration Environment.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We shortlisted three vendors based on recommendations from sister aquired companies, and selected iScaleIT based on the strength of their experience working on Terraform.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

At the start we outlined the project scope (infrastructure supporting core business, security, and development) and objectives (improved visibility, security and efficiency) and agreed objectives for each month to migrate components of our cloud-based infrastructure to one managed by Terraform:

• Multi AWS account split following best practices to isolate ares of concern
• Active Directory-integrated
• Single Sign On Continuous integration with self-hosted
• Gitlab (an appropriate roles) Inter-operation with our existing systems SonarQube code scanning

A major constraint was maintaining commitments to our clients not to allow access to their data except by properly authorised Skylight employees. iScaleIT, in communication with Skylight designed, developed, implemented and tested each agreed components during the project.

Functional areas are separated across AWS accounts, updating our infrastructure is a matter of updating code, and automated (static analysis and regression / integration) tests confirm features will work as expected.

IScaleIT's engineers were coordinated over Slack and email, and were able to accommodate changes in our timelines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was most impressed by the depth of knowledge and well-supported recommendations

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We could have spent more time up front considering the impact of our security and confidentiality constraints.

iScaleIT staff were unable to access any client data, and working around security constraints not present at other companies often took longer than it would normally, though ultimately provided a more robust solution.

I am a Software Development manager at a leading financial services technology company.

For what projects/services did your company hire iScaleIT Solutions, and what were your goals?

We hired iScaleIT to help us take forward our new parallel computing platform, which was a key component of our growth strategy. The project was delayed amidst technical difficulties so we needed it to get back on track.

At the time we engaged iScaleIT we had migrated 10% of our workload to the new platform and the goal was to migrate the entire workload so we could decommission the legacy platform and also give ourselves headroom to increase volumes.

After their successes with the project above we decided to also involve them in another project implementing a SAML authentication solution for a new tool.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had worked with the iScaleIT CTO in the past and were familiar with his abilities. They convinced us that they were able to add top level talent to the team.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

This included analysing functional, performance and stability issues on the platform; identifying bottlenecks and architectural issues; re-architecting components; prioritising where we’d see the best benefits. Although iScaleIT had no prior experience with our platform they were soon our go-to experts on the technology.

Two people in total, a project architect and one senior developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to migrate our full workload to the new platform, which was also capable of supporting 5x the volumes of the old platform.

They were very professional and showed excellent communication. iScaleIT integrated with our team to the point we felt they were really part of our team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Some of the very best technologists we have worked with. Deep technical expertise, exceptional problem solving and a commitment to our project goals. Also really great people to have around, a pleasure to work with. A key thing to mention is that even when they didn't have prior expertise in technologies utilised they picked them up very quickly and ran with them.

So you're not hiring experts in technology X or technology Y, you're hiring engineers who can pick anything up and deliver to a high level.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really! Would be delighted to work with them again in the future.

We did a review of several providers in east and south europe. We focused on SMEs to offer reliable and trustful developments and continue growing with our partner.

The main project is divided in many subproject with the common goal to create a huge data platform within the GCP stack. We used the colleagues in different subprojects based on the clients needs.

We have worked with 5-6 developers from junior to expert level.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Most of the projects are still ongoing. The feedback from client side is pretty good and the quality is still high.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

From provider side the workflow has been good and really effective. On the other side the recruitment processes from client side have been a showstopper.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I really enjoy the flexibility and the reliability. I can totally trust my partner in acquiring the right guys with the needed skills.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We need some time to accept, that the client has been slow with the feedback in our common recruitment process.
