I’m the chief of staff at SetSchedule. We’re in the real estate industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Interdependence?

We wanted to get more of a foothold in the marketing industry and increase our brand recognition.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Interdependence focused on media. They were involved in all of our press releases and helped with marketing campaigns and collateral. To establish our company as knowledgeable in the industry, Interdependence also helped us in our efforts to contribute to articles within our industry and to write original pieces.

What is the team composition?

We worked with four people from Interdependence. Our main point of contact was Laura (VP of Client Services, Interdependence), and she oversaw the entire team. Another team member wrote content pieces, and a few other people contributed as well.  

How did you come to work with Interdependence?

One of our founders came across Interdependence when someone recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

My company spent around $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement lasted from June 2018–March 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Interdependence helped us gain more brand recognition within the industry. We also had a lot more publications when we were working with them, averaging about three original published pieces a month.

How did Interdependence perform from a project management standpoint?

Interdependence performed and communicated very well. They made sure to connect with us regarding any opportunities that came up, and they were constantly relaying what was going on in the real world. For instance, the government shutdown affected our industry, so they tried to create relevant content while it was happening. 

Our teams had weekly meetings, during which we went over the traction Interdependence had gotten and any new pitch ideas that they had for media. They provided regular updates about when content pieces would be released. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They pushed to get all of the content pieces that we wanted. The fact that they could turnaround three original pieces each month was impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not necessarily. The only thing is that we’re based in California and they’re in Chicago, so there were time and location differences, but that wasn’t something they could control.

Any advice for potential customers?

Communicate with them and make sure that everyone’s on the same page. Have a clear understanding of what you want to do so that they can drive results in that area.

I'm the marketing manager for AeroGo, a 50-year-old manufacturing company based out of Seattle that sells globally.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Interdependence?

We needed to get placements in European publications. We wanted to create educational awareness in the industrial market about our products.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The process was pretty simple. Interdependence held an overview call to learn about our technology. Then they assigned a writer to us. He conducted a couple of interviews to get additional background on the specific manufacturing sectors we focused on. He wrote some short pitches specific to our targets. Once they got some placements, we did expanded interviews to finish off the stories. Each story was around 1,000–1,500 words.

What is the team composition?

We had an overall account manager, and we worked with 2–3 other people.

How did you come to work with Interdependence?

I might have found them on Thumbtack, but I'm not sure. I contacted several firms I found online that focus on Europe. They called me back quickly, which was amazing because I needed to move fast.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $4,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June–September 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had a specific goal of the number of articles we wanted to publish per month. They absolutely 100% met that goal. The way they did research on us ahead of time helped make the whole process very streamlined. They totally delivered, which made it an excellent interaction from my perspective.

How did Interdependence perform from a project management standpoint?

They provided good, clean project management. They were very efficient. They didn't waste time by giving us weekly updates. They told us what the track was going to be, and then they ensured the project stayed on track. We mostly communicated by email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by their focus on my needs. They met my goals, objectives, and budget without any extra fluff or sales pitches. I don't have time to go through multiple emails just to be told the project is on track. Other people would perhaps feel they didn't communicate enough, but to me, they communicated the right amount. They told me exactly what I needed to know and not a lot of vendors do that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think so. I'm definitely going to use them again on a new project.

I'm an Executive of From Ordinary to Extraordinary, an education company that empowers survivors of abuse by providing access to skilled trades training, career opportunities, and supportive resources that foster self-sufficiency.

What challenge were you trying to address with Interdependence?

We hired Interdependence to help increase public awareness of our company and expand our reach to individuals, organizations, and communities that can benefit from or support our mission. As a nonprofit dedicated to empowering survivors of abuse through skilled trades training and pathways to self-sufficiency, we needed strategic PR support to amplify our message, build credibility, and connect with a broader audience.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Interdependence has developed and distributed press releases, secured media opportunities, crafted compelling messaging about our mission and impact, identified strategic media outlets and journalists, and helped tell the stories of the survivors and families we serve. The team has also provided guidance on positioning our organization within the nonprofit and social impact sectors, helping us communicate our work in a way that resonates with the public, potential donors, community partners, and advocates.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the most significant outcomes of our engagement with Interdependence has been the development of community partnerships that have created real opportunities for our program participants. As a direct result of increased visibility and networking efforts, we've established connections with 64 clinics that are willing to provide employment opportunities for our students after they complete their training. This represents a major step toward our goal of helping survivors of abuse achieve economic independence and long-term self-sufficiency.For us, the greatest measure of success is the increased number of opportunities available to the survivors and families we serve, and Interdependence has played a significant role in helping us expand those opportunities. While we don't have specific numbers or percentages to quantify growth in program participation as it relates to hiring Interdependence, our mission has always been focused on impact over volume. We believe that if even one survivor or one family is empowered to break the cycle of abuse, achieve self-sufficiency, and create a better future, then we've succeeded.

How did Interdependence perform from a project management standpoint?

Interdependence's project management has been outstanding. The team is organized, responsive, and consistent in following up on opportunities and making valuable connections for our organization. I always feel that our goals are a priority and that the team is committed to helping us succeed.My primary point of contact, Kelly (PR Director), has been exceptional throughout the process. She genuinely believes in our mission and has shown a level of compassion and dedication that goes beyond what I expected. Kelly truly wants the best for our organization and the survivors we serve. She has matched me with an incredible team that understands our mission and goals. What stands out most is that she doesn't simply pass me along to others and step away; she remains actively engaged throughout the process, checking in regularly, offering support, and ensuring our needs are being met every step of the way.From my experience, Interdependence delivers on time, remains engaged throughout the project, and consistently works to create opportunities that help expand our impact and reach within the community. Their professionalism, commitment, and genuine investment in our success make them feel like a true partner in our mission.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What impresses me most about working with Interdependence is their ability to move quickly and deliver results, even under challenging circumstances. There have been times when opportunities or scheduling changes happen almost overnight, and what seems impossible, such as securing media connections and interview opportunities within just a few days, somehow becomes possible because of their team's dedication and responsiveness.Their time management and sense of urgency are remarkable. Instead of focusing on obstacles, they focus on solutions. Whenever a deadline is tight or plans change unexpectedly, they adapt quickly and work tirelessly to make things happen.I'm also impressed by how personally invested they are in our success. The team doesn't treat us like just another client; they genuinely care about our mission and work hard to help us share our message with a larger audience. Their combination of professionalism, persistence, strong relationships, and commitment to our cause makes them a truly unique partner for our company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Interdependence deserves to take a break and celebrate their successes. Maybe a cup of coffee together, but knowing their work ethic, I doubt they'll have the time. They're always focused on finding opportunities, making connections, and helping us move forward. Maybe one day, we can celebrate over a cup of coffee.

We needed to spread the word about our services outside Charleston, SC, and beyond. We wanted to show up in major publications related to our industry.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of work done?

Interdependence seeks out and identifies news outlets and publications that could use commentary from me on subject matter. They also learn about our team and process to create more opportunities for future growth.

We work with five teammates from Interdependence.

We found Interdependence through a referral and online research. We liked their team presentation and depth of the organization. They also had prior experience with businesses of a similar size.

We started working together in April 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Interdependence has helped us publish three bylines in Scotsman Guide (two) and Inman, a big real estate-focused industry magazine. We've also been featured on the cover of National Mortgage Professional, which has helped us land new national partners and re-establish our existing accounts with more recognition.

We've found placements in every important industry publication and, in some cases, a feature. We have significant growth, but it's difficult to identify a specific metric because we utilize many platforms. This has been more of a holistic approach in all phases.

How did Interdependence perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through Zoom meetings, emails, and scheduled follow-up calls as needed. I'm pleased with the professionalism and consistency of the Interdependence team. They get the job done, and I've extended our existing contract.
