The project for my company was to develop a Mobile App for the consumers. I am a CEO of this company.

To develop IPhone IOS app which would include admin panel and static web site.

What were your goals for this project?

The contract was signed and the work on project started in Feb 2018. The innofied consented in the contract that this project would be completed within 11 to 12 weeks. The completion date would have been in May 2018 . The launch date of the app in apple store was suppose to be August 2018.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I explored online and came across this company on Clutch. At the time I found this vendor, the reviews were 5 stars. I contacted them through their web site and the co-founder called me.

Describe the project in detail.

I started working with this company in December 2017. After discussing the project with them for couple of months which included requirement gathering with their sales person, the SOW was prepared and eventually contract was signed in February 2018.

When the development started, it was not in accordance with SOW. As innofied was interpreting SOW for their own convenience. The development had many build which were send to me for testing. However with each new build, anomalies from previous build were not corrected in the new build. This was a Repetitive issue.

Due to this challenge, we are still stuck in the development phase and innofied refuse to make corrections and refuse to release source code to us.

What was the team composition?

To my knowledge, there is one project manager which is a point of contact for us . There are 2 additional resources for backend and 2 for the front end. Also, there are 2 resources for backend API.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There is no outcome. As the project is on hold by Innofied. Innofied is not completing this project. The main functionalities of the app still has many errors. I have asked to wrap up the incomplete project and deliver me with the source code, since 80% of the payments are made.

Currently, innofied has stopped responding to my communications. There is no cooperation from their end at all as they are not willing to share any work product they have completed till date.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Starting from Phase 1, the workflow was ineffective. As innofied started to interpret SOW in accordance with their convenience. Which was inaccurate. The delivery of their build was on their own schedule ( usually weeks or months), however they wanted complete feedback and approvals from me within days.

The defects were always repetitive in each build. All of defects from previous build would be in the new build as well in addition to new defects. To provide an example: there were 180 defects I submitted to them, From total of 180, they declared 40 of them would be change request even though they were mentioned in the SOW.

Prior to sending new build, they would close the defects that were not even fixed in the bitbucket.In the basecamp, they would claim with a statement that "build is ready for review" and ask for approval. I had to check each defect individually to verify if it is still not fixed. This was to trick me for my approval.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I regret to inform you that I was absolutely disappointed starting from Phase 1. I tried to be optimistic and cooperative with them, but their inefficiencies, inaccuracies, unprofessionalism continued to grow. They continued to prolong the app development without any regard for my launch date.

I also regret making payments to them via bank transfer. I should have utilized a third party company to make payments which would have added some accountability on innofied's part. I am unable to reverse my payments made to them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The improvement needs to be made at every level. Their integrity, management and accountability. I would recommend staying miles away from this company.

Please describe your company and your position there.

My company's name is Communal Helping Hands Services and I am their CEO. We are working to build a business platform that interconnects multiple services from vehicles for hire to professional services to professional contractors.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Innofied Solution?

We contracted with Innofied in August of 2018 to build a scheduled Professional Service oriented Vehicle for Hire application. This would give the power of choice back to the Rider as to whom their Chauffeur would be along with the option to request a specific vehicle type. We started with the Discovery phase which led to a ProtoType. After a few months for us to acquire Investment funds we started the production build in May of 2019.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to build a first of its kind Vehicle for Hire app that allowed the Rider to truly schedule their Chauffeur and/or vehicle type. We wished to include embedded viral marketing to help grow our application organically.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We initially targeted Innofied after doing an exhaustive Google search for vendors who had prior success in building a Vehicle for Hire app along with great reviews by their customers. We selected Innofied after 2 rounds of phone calls. Initially we were a bit trepidatious. Reason being I had been in IT for 15+ years. Had had multiple dealings with India based companies. Usually extremely difficult for them to comprehend and understand our objective and big picture. From the 1st phone call it was a pleasant surprise. Innofied was able to listen to our somewhat disjointed conversation, as we had an idea but not a solid structure in place, and provided valuable feedback and advice. After that they suggested a 2nd phone call to discuss their Discovery phase project, which helped solidfy their role and how they could be of assistance in designing/developing our app.

Describe the project in detail.

The project, as noted above, started with a Discovery phase. It was an amazing and pleasant experience of multiple 1 hour phone calls over a couple month period. They were extremely thorough in asking their questions along with providing suggestions/feedback on ways they thought the application could/would function better. After these discussions they then put the words into a visual wireframe/prototype that we were then able to work with and adjust to our specifications. We were then able to use this ProtoType to show/market to Investors to drum up interest in our Company, our Vision and our Project.

What was the team composition?

Initially there were 2 individuals who assisted with the Discovery phase. On kickoff of the actual development of the app Innofied built a dedicated team for both the Android and IOS side. They included a dedicated Project Manager and Team Lead. They built a scope of the Project via Base Camp to make communication efficient and expeditious.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Again we have been pleasantly surprised and extremely grateful with Innofied as they have consistently bent over backward to work with us as this app is a 1st of its kind in the industry. We are saying this not only from our perspective after multiple conversations with Riders/Chauffeurs during our 2 year market research/feedback phase but also from Innofied's perspective of never building an app such as this. They constantly are saying how excited their Developers are in developing something that is a bit outside the box and different from previous cookie cutter apps for the Vehicle for Hire/Ride Share industry.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was extremely effective via the use of BaseCamp. Even though we didn't always meet our obligation for their Milestones they always exceeded and went above and beyond on their side. There was rarely any issue caused by either their accent or time difference. Usually it was on our side not fully painting the picture of what we were attempting to accomplish. Extremely thankful for their always pleasant demeanor and their willingness to go the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Most impressive is their ability to communicate along with the team they have managed to build in 2 different areas in India. They consistently meet and exceed every milestone. They're always open to suggestions and tweaks to the app.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Honestly I can not think of 1. The delay in this project was always on our side not theirs.

What challenge were you trying to address with Innofied Solution?

We’re in the process of developing a car sharing platform with Innofied Solution. We’ve worked with them to build the initial MVP, which includes our management platform, an iOS/Android app, and a shared backend.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Innofied Solution has developed our car sharing software/mobile app solution, from the client-facing mobile apps to the internal management platform. They’ve also developed a Node.js backend to process all user transactions.

Starting with our general idea, they worked with us to create the UI and built out the wireframes. Once we finalized a detailed design, we moved on to the actual development and testing periods before our first launch. The app has continued to evolve as we’ve gone along, and we’re now working on the third iteration of the software. 

What is the team composition? 

We work with about six people on a regular basis as well as 1–2 occasional resources.

How did you come to work with Innofied Solution?

We condensed our requirements into a specs doc and sent it to three development teams. Our goal was to evaluate how each party interacted with us, their planning capabilities, and their financial proposition.

Out of the candidates, Innofied Solution was by far the best option. It wasn’t just a marginal win; they were massively better than the competition. They interacted in a professional, clear way that really showcased their understanding of our requirements. If there were any uncertainties, they would ask for clarification. Besides quality, their price point offered the most value.

So far, we've spent about $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked with them since April 2018 and intend to keep our project going for quite some time.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their most important achievement was delivering the initial MVP within our time and budget constraints. That alone is already a huge deal for a software company. We were so happy with their work that we made it a point to continue working with them.

How did Innofied Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve been in IT for a long time and have worked with vendors that weren’t upfront about their capabilities or efforts. They would typically say yes to all of my requirements but never deliver. 

In contrast, Innofied Solution really manages their projects well. We’re clear and concise about our requirements for them, and then plan all of the next steps to realize our vision. This helps clarify expectations for all involved, and then they just deliver it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I wish every software developer were like them. The team is open and honest, and I absolutely trust them. I actually visited their offices back in November 2018, and they spoke to us exactly as they do online. So, not only are they technically strong, but they’re good professionals communication-wise. That might not seem unique to some, but many organizations out there provide far poorer quality of service.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

It could be worthwhile for them to expand their offerings to support our intelligence and data pipelines, but I understand that that isn’t their ambition. They’re a very good software company, and it’s better to focus on your specialties rather than being mediocre in too many services.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’ve developed hundreds of mobile apps over the years, and it shows. So, if you provide very strict requirements and don’t let them explore, they might end up delivering a product that isn’t as good as it could’ve been. Give them some space—they’ll be sure to come up with optimal solutions that meet your requirements.

We were very satisfied with the quality of their work and the time it took for them to complete the project. So far we have received positive user feedback.

How did Innofied Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very well organized and professional. We communicated mostly over Basecamp, but also held frequent video conferences when necessary. Even though they are located overseas, we never experienced any issues with time delays or language barriers.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I have dealt with a lot of companies over the years and Innofied is the only vendor that has actually delivered on time. We hired a different firm in 2016 to build a beta version of the app and it took them twice as long to come up with a vastly inferior product. We are extremely happy with what Innofied built and how long it took to complete.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, it has been a very pleasant experience from the beginning.

Any advice for potential customers?

It is important to be as detailed about the project as possible from the very beginning. We spent several months working on wireframes and solidifying all the details of the project and I think that it really paid off. You always have changes or delays along the way, but the more detailed you can be up front, the more the team knows exactly what work they need to do.

They developed our iOS and Android app. The app is not only mobile, but it’s also the website, the business website, and the backend. We had them create a lot of very difficult features using Google Maps. A parent can be aware of where their child is at all times.

They are very accurate and knowledgeable. It was really easy to work with them in developing the idea because we had no clue how to do it. They were very resourceful in the way that they helped us to get the results we were looking for. Even though I haven’t launched my app, I already have potential clients. The journey so far has been fantastic.

How did Innofied Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

They keep the work simple, easy to understand, and very realistic. There were no problems whatsoever. The communication is fantastic. We use Skype, Basecamp, and Google Docs. I can see every little change. They explain everything they’re doing. I never feel confused about what’s going on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have great customer service. They not only commit to the business, but to the idea. They are very good listeners. They can also enlighten and teach you and make your idea even more fantastic. They have the knowledge and that was priceless. Everything about them is great. We went to India and they treated us like family.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their internet connection isn’t always the best, so sometimes when we’re having a conversation, the connection is lost. However, when we have connection problems, they’re really resourceful in finding another line or way to communicate. They always end up finding a stable connection. It might take a few minutes, but they find a way.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s important to have an open mind to learn and to listen. With Innofied Solution, it was easy to sign the NDAs. All the contracts were easy to understand. They were really supportive on the legal part. They are very aware of privacy.

What challenge were you trying to address with Innofied Solution?

I needed to create an Android application to serve as an administrative panel for web browsers and mobile devices. I made some specifications for it, but I needed a development team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I created a wireframe showcasing how the app would work and sent it to Innofied for review. They updated my wireframe and submitted some thoughts and ideas about optimizing its flow. I am new to the field, so this was helpful.

After the scope was set, we started with the design process. To create the outer look of the menus, we discussed button placements and other details. Beyond the app and its admin panel, the data runs through several systems

I worked with a seven-person team, including a project manager, a UI designer, and two developers.

I found them through Clutch. After I had reached out to three other candidates to discuss costs and after-development support, I had the best feeling around Innofied. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app is just now reaching the finish line, so it’s hard to elaborate on it. Overall, I would say that I’ve been happy with the solution-oriented minds at Innofied. Whenever we encountered an issue with my original concept, they found a way around it. The finished version looks much better and runs much more smoothly than I thought it would.

How did Innofied Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Basecamp for communication throughout the project, and used Bitbucket for issue testing.

I was given a few intermediate versions of the app to test during the project, and we had regular meetings to discuss completed work. We optimized the app continuously to make it more fluid. Our great communication resulted in the best possible MVP app for my budget.

I had one go-to person I could contact on issues with the design and functionality. We always received fast responses. There is a time difference between Sweden and Innofied’s location, but this never felt like an issue.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their ability to outline the project on Basecamp. I don’t have a comparison point for Innofied, but I believe that the handling of the project testified to their management strength.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We tested the app in a user environment, but doing it on a larger scale would have been better. Overall, I’m satisfied with their performance.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It’s important to be open. I told their team that this was not my area of expertise, and I only had a general vision of how the app should look. To make the best of the project, I asked Innofied to explain how the app should be developed. Approaching the project with an open mind made a positive difference.

Innofied Solution was hired to develop a mobile app to facilitate the many administrative tasks faced by the employers of foreign domestic workers. Before the existence of this app, employers either needed to wade through mountains of government paperwork on their own or hire an expensive agency to complete the process for them.

The goal was to develop an app that was easy to use, answered all of the questions employers might have, and that facilitated all of the processes an employer might face.

The vendor was recommended to me by a business colleague.

I provided wireframes and ongoing content guidance and Innofied Solution was responsible for converting that into reality. They developed fully functioning iOS and Android mobile apps that met all original specifications. In addition, they offer marketing support.

What was the team composition?

There were many team members involved covering the iOS and Android build, the admin panel build, project management, and marketing. Team members were added or removed as necessary throughout the project.

We are just going live now so there’s not a lot of feedback yet but initial indications are very positive.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow for the project was very effective. Their team was quicker than I was, so any delays in the project fall on my shoulders.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

All members of the Innofied team were very helpful, amazingly responsive, and very accommodating to my needs. I was traveling internationally throughout much of the work and they accommodated to the time differences seamlessly. Overall, they’re a talented and organized group of professionals.

I am the co-founder of SkateDash. We are online web and mobile app for figure skating coaches, athletes, and parents.

We connect coaches with students so that they can easily book lessons with their coaches, and the coaches have a way of keeping track of their student’s progress. They can create practice sheets and training resources. Coaches can also do all of their invoicing via the app, whereas before they had to keep track of everything in different ways and there was never one place they could organize all of the aspects of their job.

What challenge were you trying to address with Innofied Solution?

We needed a team that could put this app together within a reasonable timeframe and budget.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had previously built a prototype and we went to them with a few screens for the app, the concept, and a little bit of design. They took what we had and put together a proposal. There was a lot missing, so they filled in the pieces and did most of the design work. They also did all of the functional work, including all of the development work, from getting it started to pushing it out live.

What is the team dynamic?

At the start of the project, I worked with at least seven members of their team, including a couple of iOS developers, one designer, one project manager, and one or two web application developers. There were also 2 people working on the servers for the whole project.

How did you come to work with Innofied Solution?

We vetted at least 10 different agencies for this project. We had worked with an agency here in the US to create our prototype, but the local agencies we worked with presented this as being such a huge project that they discouraged us from taking it on.

There were a few other agencies that were overseas who had a much more optimistic take on it. What we liked about Innofied is that they seemed to understand what we were trying to build even though they know nothing about figure skating. They understood this as well as any of the other agencies we worked with previously. They didn’t act like it was something that would be impossible to pull off. Their quote and timeline were reasonable and we decided to give them a shot.

We spent in the range of $50,000—$100,000 with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April of this year and the project is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work has started to accomplish the work we are trying to achieve. We went over the timeline, and I believe a lot of it is more a matter of us being rookies at this and us not anticipating all of the details that needed to go into it.

Occasionally, there were things they could have caught, but it is more a matter of us building a detailed and large-scale product, and these are things that could have inevitably happened. We had to go back, add things, make changes, and realized we forgot to add certain things in the development space. Every time there was a piece of the project that needed to be added, they did so within the deadline they quoted us on.

How did Innofied Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

It has been good, and in one way or another, we communicate almost daily. I have had a lot of different people at the various points of the project who have been my go-to people. I wouldn’t say there was anything they needed to do differently overall.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are very responsive and very open to ideas and feedback. When I have run out of ideas or don’t know how to get past a roadblock, they have been very good with coming up with solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There have been a couple of little things that were slightly cumbersome, but I think that as far as working with an agency goes, if they are not located down the street from you, this is to be expected.

What advice would you give to potential future clients of Innofied Solution?

My advice to someone hiring any agency would be to make sure that you are extremely specific and have a solid understanding of what you want to create and your requirements. That will help the project run smoother. For everything we thought that we really thought through, we had to do so at a deeper level.

Make sure you communicate those things really well because while the team does a great job of coming up with solutions once you have hit a roadblock, you can avoid some of those by having a really solid plan in place and development specifications before heading into a project.

Bella Lingua is a small educational consulting company that specializes in ESL/ELT consulting. Our most recent service has been the development of an app for English Language Learners to explore, practice and acquire the academic word list. I am the CEO and primary curriculum specialist.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Innofied Solution?

We were looking to develop an app to reach English Language Learners across the globe.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

After working with them and getting some feedback, we added a feature that allows students to listen to the pronunciation of a word. They can explore the word and then practice it. Innofied really had a lot of vision with a challenge they added to the app. Students can choose how many words they would be challenged on at a time, the words were randomized, and there was also a timer going for that challenge. If the student doesn’t meet the challenge successfully, the app then creates a study list for them. Students can click the words they want added to their study list. I think that just speaks to Innofied’s expertise with user experience. I’ve gotten feedback from students who are using the app, and they’ve said that’s one of their favorite features.

I believe there were 10-15 people at Innofied, judging by the people on Basecamp. We had a designer from the beginning, a developer for both iOS and Android, a project manager, and other support people. They’ve continued to provide support even after the app was made available.

How did you come to work with Innofied Solution?

I looked up all their LinkedIn reviews. I had put it out to three different companies, but went with Innofied in the end. They didn’t just give me a bottom dollar, but also provided really good insights. I had drawn out what I envisioned the app to look like, and I sent it to them. They came back and gave me an estimate. Unlike other companies, they also made some very good suggestions.

Being an educator, I know how I wanted it to work as far as the pedagogy, but I really wasn’t thinking about some of those user experiences that Innofied considered. That’s why I originally went with them. Even though they were slightly more than some of their competitors, they offered a lot of helpful solutions and suggestions.

We’ve spent on the lower end of the $50,000-$60,000 range.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from March to May of 2017, but we started negotiations in February. The app was launched on iOS in May, and the Android version should be launched any day now. We’re waiting on approval from Google Play.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

First, they were very responsive, and helped educate our team on this very new process. They were helpful in making suggestions to improve our vision, and they were flexible. Innofied Solution was open to changes, and always available to meet when asked. They provided impeccable service, were extremely professional, and were quite responsive to all inquiries and requests.

The app has only been out a short time on iOS, so I haven’t yet gotten a lot of feedback. I’m a full-time professor, and my own students have given very good feedback. We’re adding users every day even though I haven’t done any marketing yet, so that’s a good sign.

How did Innofied Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

They were able to deliver within the set time frame and budget. When we got heavy into development, we probably met through Skype three to four times a week. When either of us had a question, we would ping each other at a certain time. We always met early in the morning on East Coast time. It was a real partnership. I got daily and weekly updates. I was able to check Basecamp daily to see what was going on with the development. So, they handled all the technical parts. In addition, they actually came in with a lot of user feedback and suggestions for what might benefit the user.

I think this is an area where they really excel. No matter the time of day, I could contact the project manager, and he would get back to me within hours. He constantly kept me abreast of what was happening. We ran into some issues with the quality of audio originally, and he worked really hard to resolve that. I couldn’t be more pleased with the project management.

What did you find most impressive about Innofied Solution?

What makes Innofied Solution special is their attention to customer service. They always took time to say, “Thank you,” and “How are you?” They took the coldness out of the tech world for me. Some of their vision and ideas were really enlightening for someone in with little to no tech experience.

I can’t think of anything.

I was looking to find a development company that could work on iOS and Android development concurrently, along with building a web panel. Our customers are divided between the two mobile platforms, and we wanted to release the app for both at the same time.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Innofied Solution fully developed our apps and backend web panel which allows service providers to manage jobs and customers, as well as to send out invoices. We didn't have any existing solutions in place, so this was a brand-new venture.

The app is meant to simplify the way in which customers search, book, and pay for service providers ranging from dog walkers to residential home-cleaners. Users can search for contractors in their area, make bookings, and pay, all within the app. It's a free-to-download app.

Innofied Solution didn't work on our marketing strategy, but they did present challenges which we hadn't considered beforehand, and helped us attack them and come up with solutions.

We are working with a 10-person team from Innofied Solution's side.

How did you come to work with Innofied Solution?

I started the research through Upwork and came across a couple of companies and individuals. Innofied Solution was one of the few places which were likely to deliver a whole team instead of one person for the Android, iOS, and web-panel work. We looked at three other companies.

How much have you invested with Innofied Solution?

The cost of Innofied Solution's work will be around $50,000 overall. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Innofied Solution at the end of November 2016. We're still in the process of building the apps.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The app isn't completed yet, so I can't provide any metrics. The quality of the work has been wonderful so far.

How did Innofied Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

One of the things I've appreciated about Innofied Solution is their communication. Any changes I needed were done promptly. They will jump on and notify me anytime something comes up, giving me updates on the progress of everything.

We've needed to make some minor changes, which put us a bit behind on the deadline. Innofied Solution has stayed on task and delivered according to our schedule. The delays were due to some changes which I wanted to make, and which weren't in the initial milestones.

What did you find most impressive about Innofied Solution?

This was a new venture for me, and I don't have experience working with other development companies. But, even so, it's been great to have constant communication and service from Innofied Solution.

Are there any areas Innofied Solution could improve?

The only thing that could become an issue is the 10-hour time difference, but that's not something that can be changed, and it's a part of working remotely.
