Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the managing director of Wasat Ltd., a company that provides satellite remote sensing based-services, geographic information systems, and IT for clients in the agriculture, environmental protection, and archaeology sectors. The company also develops innovative tools for geoinformation and visualization products. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Inero Software?

We needed support developing and implementing satellite data processing algorithms in a cloud environment. This is a unique task that requires a combination of advanced Python programming capabilities, an understanding of Earth observation applications, and some experience gained in academic or research environments.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to design and implement a set of algorithms and data interfaces based on satellite remote sensing imagery that would constitute one of our solution’s key features.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I have known Inero Software’s team for several years; I used them in the past and I was always pleased with the results. Therefore, I viewed the company as a team of collaborators already proven in similar tasks.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

The Inero coders programmed both the algorithms and data interfaces in a new cloud infrastructure dedicated to satellite imagery.

What was the team composition?

There have been three individuals involved in this project: one full-time Python developer and two additional part-time support staff. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project is not yet finished, so it is too early to assess any impact. Inero continues to support us, albeit to a lesser degree than earlier in the process. The Earth observation business development cycle is relatively slow, primarily because live testing can only be done at specific times of the year. For us, that is early to mid-spring, so we are planning to launch the service in the summer of 2019.  

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

There was very little project management required, as both the team and the work itself were limited in scope. Neither my colleagues from the IT department nor myself experienced any issues cooperating with Inero that necessitated management intervention. We were satisfied with the timely, good quality results.  

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their strongest selling point is their in-depth academic and research experience that allows the team to propose and implement innovative—as opposed to routine—solutions. This, combined with their high level programming skills, gives the company the ability to tackle challenging tasks.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

I wish they would embrace Jupiter Notebooks—the solution my company promotes—in their algorithm development process.

I am the project specialist at Port of Gdynia Authority. I work in the new technology department.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Inero Software?

Following a change in Polish Law, we needed help developing a systematic tool to help us manage and optimize the cost results from water service use.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Inero developed a water services platform that allows users to log in and share data on their customers’ water consumption. The team created an algorithm that calculates the customer’s cost of water services then creates and distributes invoices and reports. This allows us to quantify large-scale water usage, then manage and optimize the cost of resources for water service users.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people. Inero’s CEO acted as project manager.

How did you come to work with Inero Software?

We first met in a startup program, then chose to partner with them after they sent in a promising project proposal.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent between $25,000—$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2017—April 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The software alleviated the task of hiring new employees to handle the additional workflow. The program is functioning, but Inero willingly makes bug fixes when necessary.

How did Inero Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via phone, email, and in-person meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very knowledgeable and creative in the development of our platform’s algorithm.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should provide more public relations and marketing services.

I'm the deputy director of Powel, a leading supplier of software solutions to the energy, public, and contracting sectors. I also act as the project manager and development team leader.

We hired them to provide business intelligence (BI) and machine learning software solutions.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to deliver the correct results based on a massive amount of numerical data.
