Project management was very smooth overall. The team remained on top of things that needed to be done even if it was further into the future. Delivery timelines were based on a high level of open collaboration and this helped being on time. There were no unrealistic expectations set from the start which helped delivery timelines. 

The team was always super responsive even if it was the middle of the night on a weekend.

The culture to always keep learning, open to trying out new things and technologies even if it was not in their wheelhouse and being honest about what can or cannot be done with a specific timeline in mind.

There is always room for improvement and I think having more skillsets and experience across technologies and products will help their clients. Having said that, Indexnine is growing very fast now and has in-house studios to accelerate this for future clients.

A working portfolio optimization platform that enables creation of multiple users. Each user is able to authenticate, login, create own stock portfolio, carry out simulations,  and rebalance the portfolio as per need.

The team was very responsive. They setup meetings and demos at important milestones to showcase their design and development work. 

The design team did an excellent job of understanding our domain of work and the exact requirements and delivered a platform with a very good interface.

The team understood our requirements well. It is not easy to understand the use cases or tech associated with quantum-inspired hardware solutions, but they were able to do this.

I’m the co-founder of a B2B SaaS company. Our digital platform streamlines and manages the entire coaching process for coaches and clients, supporting both individual and team coaching with integrated tools for growth and business management.

We needed our mobile app to be developed to support our web application. Being a small team, we didn’t want to hire a dedicated mobile team.

What was the scope of work with Indexnine Technologies?

Indexnine Technologies handled the UX and design of our mobile app. The team also developed and delivered the app for iOS and Android. The primary features included managing clients, scheduling sessions, note-taking, assigning actions, notifications, and sending messages. We chose not to build the more complicated admin features for mobile, looking at the user needs and journey.

We worked with five teammates from Indexnine Technologies.

How did you come to work with Indexnine Technologies?

We found Indexnine Technologies through a referral. We knew the founders before they started Indexnine Technologies and had worked with Anand, the co-founder and CTO, and Shashank, the co-founder and CEO, for more than a decade.

What is the status of this engagement?

The initial project lasted from October 2023–March 2024. However, we’ve since extended our partnership, and Indexnine Technologies now acts as our partner in mobile development and UI/UX.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen success through the visual designs and demos. Indexnine Technologies has delivered new designs, incorporated our feedback, and provided a working demo of the app.

How did Indexnine Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We had regular communication with check-ins and progress updates. We collaborated almost every day. We communicated in person and through virtual meetings. The team was very accommodating and worked as a partner invested in our success rather than a vendor delivering an agreed project.

Timelines exceeded the original three-month agreement, but it’s natural for the scope to evolve. We did the right thing by giving breathing space. The team handled the usual feature scope creep and timelines very well. 

We had multiple rounds of testing to address developmental bugs.

We've been impressed with Indexnine Technologies' transparency, openness, and willingness to go above and beyond.

Indexnine Technologies was brought on to extend our QA bandwidth and help ensure broader test coverage.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Indexnine Technologies has primarily provided QA support across multiple product areas. Their responsibilities have included writing and executing test cases, running regression and smoke suites during sprint cycles, logging and verifying defects, and supporting exploratory and ad hoc testing when needed. In some areas, they’ve also contributed to test documentation and light automation efforts. Deliverables typically include test case coverage in our management tools, validated test runs, and structured feedback on functionality under test. The scope has evolved as priorities shift, and we’re continuing to align expectations and output for long-term effectiveness.

We work with 5–6 teammates from Indexnine Technologies.

How did you come to work with Indexnine Technologies?

I inherited the relationship when I joined, so I didn’t personally choose Indexnine Technologies. However, I’ve chosen to continue the partnership because of the deep domain knowledge they’ve built over time, their adaptability to our evolving QA processes, and the strong individual contributors we’ve developed within the team. Their familiarity with our systems and ability to scale with our needs has made them a dependable long-term partner.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Indexnine Technologies in January 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since partnering with Indexnine Technologies, we’ve seen a noticeable improvement in QA throughput and overall test discipline. Regression execution time has improved by approximately 30% during peak sprint cycles, and overall test case coverage has increased by over 40% across our key offerings. Their support has helped reduce internal testing backlog and improve turnaround time for validations. We’ve also seen more consistent documentation and clearer test artifacts from core team members. That said, we’re still addressing variability in performance across the team to ensure more consistent quality and accountability across the board.

How did Indexnine Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management has been generally reliable, especially when clear timelines and expectations are set upfront. The team is responsive and typically quick to react to blockers or urgent requests. That said, proactive follow-up and planning can sometimes vary depending on the individual, which we’ve had to address through more structured check-ins and clearer task assignments. When communication is strong and responsibilities are well-defined, they deliver consistently and align well with our internal cadence.

We track QA throughput using a combination of Jira dashboards and Zephyr reports. Specifically, we look at the number of test cases executed per sprint, pass/fail rates, and the time taken to complete regression cycles. For coverage, we measure the ratio of written test cases to acceptance criteria across features, along with gaps identified post-deployment. We also monitor ticket turnaround time and bug reopen rates as indicators of QA effectiveness. While the data isn’t always perfect, it provides a directional view of progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One thing that stands out is the passion and dedication of several of their QA engineers. When you get the right people on a task, they’re deeply invested — thorough in their testing, quick to engage in discussions, and eager to improve processes. That level of ownership, especially in an offshore context, isn’t always easy to find. While not every engagement has been perfect, there’s a strong core of talent that genuinely cares about quality and contributes meaningfully to our delivery goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One of the main challenges has been consistency across the team. While some individual contributors have been excellent — proactive, detail-oriented, and highly dependable — others have needed more coaching and oversight to meet expectations. We’ve also had to invest time in aligning on communication norms, documentation standards, and QA ownership. Because the team is offshore, time zone overlap and asynchronous feedback loops sometimes slow down iteration. That said, when expectations are clearly set and followed up on, we’ve seen strong engagement and a willingness to improve.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Set clear expectations and invest time in aligning on communication and documentation standards. Consider implementing structured processes to promote consistency and accountability within the team.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve launched a fully functional software product that customers are using. Customers have found the app to be self-explanatory and user-friendly. They appreciate the data reporting and the ability to make operational changes. Customers now have data insights on indoor environmental quality and can report to management about the quality of the indoor environment.

Our main challenges have been product design and scoping, which involves taking concepts to full production; specific platform requirements for the mobile app, where the team was able to add capabilities to meet requirements; and our budget, where they've been client-oriented to help support our needs, given budget constraints.

How did Indexnine Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve appreciated working with Indexnine Technologies. They have internal project managers, project management training, and executive oversight. Their focus on project management and delivery ensures that our products are delivered on time and that new features are rolled out accordingly. The team is always cost-conscious and works with us to reduce operational costs. We primarily communicate via virtual meetings and email.
