We hired Inbox Army to optimize a new set of email templates that would be utilized across two credit card brands. This project included several goals:

1. Refresh/update email code to ensure the templates would render correctly in customers' Inboxes;
2. Fix mobile rendering issues in the templates; and
3. Maintain code accessibility –we need to easily swap imagery and/or change content as needed.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were impressed with Inbox Army from the very first phone call. Even on that initial call, it was evident they were engaged and took the time to understand our pain points and identify how they could help. They were honest, realistic, and transparent -- felt like a true partnership.

Plus, their technical knowledge of our email platform was reassuring for us to ensure our templates would work in production. Inbox Army's pricing was fair and competitive. We were also very pleased with their responsiveness.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.

We provided 8 email templates that needed the code reviewed and refreshed. Once those 8 templates were complete, we needed to create a matching set for our second brand. The final deliverable was a set of 16 optimized, branded templates. This project primarily involved email coding; however, they also assisted with design optimization on a few of the templates.

We worked with an account manager and several members of the production team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Finally, at long last, we have templates that don't require tweaking or guess-and-check fixes each time they are used! We have realized significant time efficiencies with the new templates. We are in the middle of an IP warming project, so we don't have performance metrics yet.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was excellent. Our project manager was proactive and quick to respond throughout the entire project. They were flexible to our requests, fast to turnaround edits, and overall worked very efficiently.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Working with Inbox Army felt like working with members of our own team - they were accessible, responsive, personable, and overall a great partner for this project. We wouldn't hesitate to work with them again in the future. Overall, we were very pleased.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, not really.

Rebuilding a full email system for a mid-sized website. This includes all of the standard flows recommended, email acquisition, promotional campaigns, weekly newsletters, and any marketing ideas our team could come up with. from concept, to design, to coding, Chris and his team handles it all.

What was the team composition?

I worked with the director and his designers to develop the emails that would connect with our target market. Inbox Army managed me, I literally had to keep up with how fast they work.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Immediate increase in revenues, our return customer conversion rate increased by roughly 50%, and our open to click rates all increased. The ROI was about 26 to 1 Zero complaints, our resources were not wasted hiring InBox Army.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective and efficient. Charlie and I communicated on a daily basis about the design of the emails on a daily basis.

I found Inbox Army through an online Google search. I decided to request a quote based on the impressive design work on client emails showcased on their website and their compatibility working with Constant Contact.

In order to move forward with the project, we had an initial call with Inbox Army to discuss the scope of work and what we could provide to get started. We then provided an outline of the content that we were including in the newsletter, a Dropbox link that contained our brand guidelines, photography, and design elements. We also provided Inbox Army with access to our ESP. We went back and forth a few time on the design options, but overall it was a really quick turnaround!

We worked with Chris, a managing partner due to his connection with our agency. We had a dedicated Account Manager, Dan and worked with the Inbox Army Production team as well.

This newsletter design turned out better than we could have expected! Inbox Army turned around the project quickly and we hardly had any design edits that needed to be made from the first design presented. They then provided us with resources to customize the code and added it to our ESP for us. They were organized and provided us with the resources needed to edit the newsletter in the future. Our CEO absolutely loved the design and couldn't be more impressed with the work.

Extremely effective. Inbox Army is a very responsive team and we had a final call to discuss any questions we might have which was a nice touchpoint to end the project.

They create both custom design and coding templates. We don't have to hire different companies for each of them! That was a huge seller for me.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The Wildest is a content site aimed at helping pet parents succeed throughout their journey, from when they bring a new pet home, to everyday living, to senior pets etc. The Wildest is currently focused on dogs and cats only. Once logged in, users get access to additional features and tools such as a new pet parent checklist, nutrition calculator, dog training program, and the ability to ask a vet non-urgent questions and receive answers in 24 hours. We had an initial pilot launch on 4/19 which was aimed a new pet parents. We then did a full launch on 5/27 where it was opened up to the public and paid advertising was dialed up.

About 4-5? - an account manager/lead, managing partner, and a few others from the production team

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've gotten positive feedback on the quality of our emails and flow. The last open rate for the set of emails was roughly ~30%, which is above industry standard.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our timeline to set up emails was highly condensed. They take the time to understand our goals and implement triggered workflows for our new product. Since we were moving at a high speed, we didn't initially take the proper amount of time to set up preferred workflows. Since the initial batch of emails, both teams have continued to work to optimize a workflow and schedule that better suits both teams.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

As mentioned, Hannan and his team were hyper focused on ensuring that the success of our email marketing campaigns. They were excellent in everything from setting up workflows to designing/coding emails to iterating with our developers to get the proper data needed for emails in place. Hannan went above and beyond to set up multiple calls with our dev team to get the right information to trigger emails and I was impressed with the initiative. We also switched ESPs midstream and the IA team took it in stride.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would have liked to see more ongoing management to improve email open rate as it relates to testing, resending non opens, copy tweaks, etc. We'd love more suggestions on testing versions of headlines/copy/images, etc. to see what resonates best with our audience. These updates are already in flight and the feedback has been shared with the team and received well.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Inbox Army has been working with us for almost a year now. Before Inbox Army, we did not have a regular cadence of email campaigns or automatic flows. With their help, we now schedule regular email campaigns and have both transactional and nurture-focused flows. 

What is the team dynamic?
I work directly with Dan and Charlie. Dan and Charlie help communicate our ask to the production team, let us know of timing, and of any potential hurdles.

My manager, Kristin Marlow found Inbox Army through her online research. She spoke directly to the owner of Inbox Army and found them to be a good match. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We continue to work with inbox Army on a case-by-case basis. Thanks to their hard work, we’ve been able to get our email system on a good, steady pace.  We are grateful to have met them and to continue working with them.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

I was brought onto the team months after Inbox Army had already been our partner. We worked together to design ongoing email campaigns and they provided quarterly reports. Most recently, they were an integral piece in relaunching our automated Welcome Series – a four-part email flow.

The team worked with us through several review pieces and worked through all of our edits in a timely manner. I am so grateful that they are always ready and excited for the next project.

How did  Inbox Army, LLC address the challenges that arose?

Dan and Charlie let us know ahead of time what the review cycle would look like and if the team would recommend a hard code or drop and go template. We also really appreciated their follow ups, when the review duty was on our end.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Because we’ve been able to get on steady cadence, our open rates are up and unsubscribe rates are down!

How was project management handled?

Our team provided Inbox Army with a written outline of our vision. Inbox Army took this outline and created a mockup, which we provided any edits, if any. Next, their team would code this design and let us know of any questions along the way. We went through another review cycle or two and their team helped schedule the campaign or flow for launch.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

Both my manager and I work with a number of vendors on a variety of projects so our schedules get really busy. We were very grateful for Dan and Charlie’s follow up emails and speedy communication along the way.

However, as the months went on, we hoped to hear more strategy discussions from InboxArmy vs execution alone. Secondly, we asked the team to provide a video tutorial of the Eventbrite automation process/Countdown feature, but we did not receive this. As our team has grown over the last few months, we are not in dire need of template execution.

Hannan and the production team are very fast to respond, even when we are bogged down and unable to get our templates out to them in a timely fashion they are able to turn each request around very quickly. Questions are answered almost immediately and show a well reasoned expertise in all manners of email marketing.

Knowledge across a variety of email marketing platforms as well as a very robust coding and email template design that was easily applied to our custom design. Seems that the team at Inbox Army can handle any request you send their way.

To redo all emails to make them on-brand and perform better across the board. The help is focused on email, but some of the stuff we receive can be used across other CRM channels. I provide strategy and context for each project as well as guidelines and sometimes creative direction. I then give feedback at the design phase. IA has managed multiple designs, reiterations, managing lists, and coding email templates. Our Welcome Series is representative of the great work they do.

I had my main point of contact on the Inbox Army team, someone who did design (not sure how many), and someone who did the coding.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our Welcome Series is a memorable one as it has doubled the revenue from our old Welcome Series. I can also speak to the speed at which they communicate and turn work around when it's a critical need. These have been so crucial to the success of some of our campaigns.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. I was the point of contact for the Enso side and Dan was the point of contact for Inbox Army. He was very communicative and responded to needs and questions quickly. Most communication was done through Slack, and we made design changes in InVision.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

There are no areas of improvement that I can think of, maybe quicker turnaround for coding specifically, but that has rarely been an issue.

What were your goals for this project?

Brand new master template matching organizational branding and up to best practices and standards for email marketing.

We looked at 16 different agencies, interviewed 8 of them and selected Inbox Army as number 1 pick.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

After we signed the SOW, we had a couple discovery calls, submitted our brief and branding document. Once we were on the same page, IA did design in batches, we had 3 rounds of reviews and once all was finalized IA coded and implemented the templates for us in MC.

What was the team composition?

During discovery calls, members of IA were present (covering design and coding). After that we always communicated with our representative, Charlie.

We are just about to start using the new template.

Extremely, IA was always on time and responsive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Being able to understand branding and our needs, design capabilities, coding pace, responsiveness and always willing to go step beyond for this project. Felt like IA and we were on the same team.

We were looking for a partner to help with our email campaign management, specifically to create, test and deploy email messages that were mobile responsive, on brand and localized to meet regional standards.

Our main goal was to increase our communication frequency with higher quality emails and analyze the results of each send.

We heard about Inbox Army through a third party vendor and chose to work with them for the resources they were able to provide, their proven expertise in using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and their excellent customer service.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

Create, test and deploy emails to consumers using different templates that we have created. They also helped to analyze the responsiveness and styling of the templates to ensure they were the highest quality. IA also provides A/B testing where needed and analytics for each send.

There were 2-3 resources per email send, but one main point of contact doing the work.
