I’m a principal GIS analyst at a nonprofit municipal corporation that provides quality water supply, water pollution control, mapping, and household hazardous waste collection.

What challenge were you trying to address with IMPRONTA IT?

We needed help with custom software development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

IMPRONTA IT provisioned, installed, and configured GIS to sync it with our SAP resource planning software. They started this project from scratch and also got involved with our Oracle and SQL geodatabase.

Currently, they continue to update our platform.

What is the team composition?

We’ve been working with Alejandro and Fernando (Directors). They provide GIS analysis for installation and configuration.

How did you come to work with IMPRONTA IT?

They were referred to us by someone who knew about their work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their team is always available, even though they work remotely. They also integrated well with our internal team in a very professional and attentive manner. Overall, we’re 100% satisfied with IMPRONTA IT’s work, and they’ve met our expectations.

How did IMPRONTA IT perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been sticking to our budget and schedules. They’re also responsive and timely, and in terms of communication, we use phone calls, email, and WebEx conference calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them? 

Their knowledge and their listening are their strong points.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

I work in the IT sector as head of GIS. The company is dedicated to the exploration and exploitation of Oil & Gas, such as refining fuels and renewable energy, with operations in Argentina, Mexico and more.

Development, modeling and updating of GIS solutions, based on the ArcGIS platform.

The selection is made through a bidding process, evaluating the experience and the cost that was reasonable.

Software development and administration of Corporate ArcGIS Platform serving GIS applications to more than 2,000 users in the company.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

They provide 3 GIS Analysts involved in the maintenance and evolution of our ArcGIS Platform. They also provide software development on a time&material way.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The GIS solutions in the company are known by a large part of our internal clients as essential for other systems. IMPRONTA is helping us to deliver powerful applications with real impact in our business processes.

They work remotely all the time and tightly integrated with our internal team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We admire their focus on user satisfaction: they are easy to work with and they always look for solutions. Their deep knowledge of ArcGIS Platform and how to integrate with other platforms (SAP, ERP, CRM, etc.) to improve business processes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I suggest them to improve documentation.

I am Chief of Operation Applications, at an Oil & Gas Company that operates fields in Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador and Colombia

For what projects/services did your company hire IMPRONTA IT?

Design and Implementation of GIS Solutions based on Esri Software for our fields in Argentina.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected this vendor after a bidding proccess. They proved vast experience in the matter of our project, and their fees were very competitive.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The first stage consisted on elaborating a blue print for the whole solution, incluiding hardware infrastructure, software architecture, and database model. Then we had a cascade implementation of the solution distributed between our 3 operative locations in Argentina. Each implementations included the installation, configuration, data polulation and comissioning.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The number of resources allocated to our project change along the time depending on the stage we were working on, including PMs, GIS Specialist and DBAs. Nevertheless, the communication was fluid as it was always channeled through the PM in charge.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The GIS solutions implemented by the project have become essentials to accomplish our geographic information managment requeriments. Their are the foundations for a growing ecosystem of applications for collecting and processing data at the exact location where it is born.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They worked remotely most of the time, but got to know all the key users personally by travelling to our operations throughout Argentina. It gave them a first hand vision of our real needs.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their focus on data quality, keen details, and concern for fulfilling our expectations at all levels were impressive. Their deep knowledge of our business and the technology their provide as well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In some custom developments, they could have delivered early prototypes to validate desing issues. In a few cases there was a rework due to changes/adjustments registered during UAT.
