We engaged Impressit to provide senior iOS engineering support for a regulated mobile health product at a critical delivery phase. The scope included stabilising and taking ownership of an existing iOS codebase, addressing technical debt left by a previous contractor, and leading the successful delivery of a delayed production release.

Key deliverables included:

• Rapid onboarding onto a complex, regulated iOS codebase.
• Driving the completion and release of a critical iOS app update.
• Ongoing ownership of subsequent iOS releases, enhancements, and maintenance.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The most immediate and measurable outcome was the successful recovery and release of a delayed iOS production build, which allowed us to meet external partner and regulatory commitments that were at risk.

Following that initial release, delivery stabilised significantly:

• Subsequent iOS releases were delivered on schedule with fewer regressions.
• Ownership of the iOS codebase became predictable and well-structured, reducing delivery risk.
• Cross-platform functionality was extended through multiple plugins, enabling feature availability beyond iOS with minimal additional effort.
• Internal capability improved through consistent mentoring and support of a junior iOS engineer, reducing dependency risk over time.

Project management was pragmatic and well aligned with our Agile delivery approach. Once the initial recovery phase was complete, deliverables were planned and met reliably, and delivery timelines became predictable.

They respond quickly and constructively to our needs, particularly when priorities shifted or additional work was identified. Communication was clear and timely, and any risks or dependencies were raised early rather than late.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was their ability to quickly and calmly take ownership of a complex, regulated codebase and restore delivery momentum without introducing unnecessary process or noise. The quality of the engineers provided was very high, and they were able to operate independently while integrating seamlessly with our internal team.

Impressit also demonstrated a good understanding of how to work in regulated environments, balancing speed with the need for careful, compliant delivery. Combined with a straightforward and responsive account management approach, this made them feel more like a trusted delivery partner than a traditional contractor supplier.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Impressit could have done differently?

There are no major areas for improvement. The engagement runs smoothly, delivery is reliable, and communication has been clear throughout.

If anything, the main challenge for us is the dependency risk that naturally builds when a contractor becomes deeply embedded and effective within a team. This is more a reflection of the individual quality and continuity of delivery than something Impressit could realistically have handled differently.

Overall, we are very satisfied with how the engagement is managed.

Daniels Dynamic selected impressit because it had stalled with their existing developer. The project owner team needed a developer that could take a more active project management role and assist the owner team in identifying required step changes the project needed to make in order to meet its functionality goals. impressit was able to help recycle the project by supporting it with necessary business analyst and a project manager.

As this was a self-funded project, it was subject to capital constraints at nearing the end of the development cycle. Impressit was more than accommodating in crafting a payment schedule that could meet both our needs while still continuing development. Even though we were not a well developed owner team, Impressit was able to assist us in our journey. If you're thinking of developing an application, though, I would suggest reaching out to them earlier in your development process for help in crafting your scope of work, budget, and schedule.They have a great deal of experience in this space and can help you save time and money in the long run.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Specific components of code delivered as completed and at project milestones. APK files delivered at various pre-identified gates including the optimization processes for each gate.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The project team utilized Jira where tickets and user stories were crafted for each peace of functionality. Jira translated this into schedule, and then were derived/refined estimates. We as the owner team could have done a better job of trusting in this process earlier and leveraging Impressit's experience and the capabilities of Jira. In spite of that, the project management team was able to work with us.
Once we were caught up to the PMT things ran much smoother. In particular Yevheniia, project PM, was instrumental in truing up Jira and integrating the owner team with it's use. Consequently, this helped us shift our priorities as driven by our changing business drivers throughout the project cycle. She is a nimble leader who is careful not to implement changes to priority without first understanding the impacts to the downstream activities.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It's hard to find organizations that value old world business ethics. They do what they say they're going to do. They are honest, forthright, and highly ethical. They received feedback and took action quickly. They give feedback and they are laser focused on the success of the project, not just short-term benefits to their bottom line.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Impressit could have done differently?

They could make a harder stance on pre-kick-off requirements. If I were in their shoes, I was craft a set of deliverables that were needed before development work could begin. For example, we were pretty forceful in getting started on development, but we as the owner team hadn't refined our scope of work into specific user stories and tickets. We further didn't allow Impressit the opportunity to fully develop their estimates. Because Impressit was so easy to work with, they rolled with us down the development road. 
Making the pre-work tasks a requirement to begin the development work would save the owner time and money, but it would also save the project management team a lot of stress in managing owner needs and provide a clear vision to the development team, inside of which they would be better able to exercise their own disciplined initiative in executing particular components of the work. While I see this, in our case as an owner failing, there is a tremendous opportunity for Impressit to expand their own service offering by leading this early project development for the client and limiting the owner from "getting in their own way".

We are undergoing a major product redesign and have been working with Impressit for both UI design and front end React development.

We looked at several agencies for this work and focused on project experience, combination of skills offered, and team communication.

While scope is confidential we focused on implementing a full design system and component library. Then worked to develop these designs in React.

The core team included a design and a front-end engineer. We also have routine syncs with Impressit's executive team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since this is a redesign exercise we measure work based on the translation of existing features and implementation of UI/UX improvements. The project is ongoing and the team continues to meet and exceed all expectations.

We leverage multiple forms of project management and communication. A project management tool is used for issue tracking and product definition. Slack, email, and daily standups are leveraged for ongoing communication given time zone difference.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Impressit truly values our team and product as their own. Rather than simply implementing tasks the team offers recommendations and improvements to push our user experience forward. The team is close-knit and their internal collaboration is evident in the detail of their work.

We needed to build an MVP of our app so that we could showcase and demo to an investor. We have a unique solution so it required some out of the box thinking to achieve.

I met the CEO at London Tech Week - he was super nice and knew his stuff, the meeting was serendipitous!

We had built a similar MVP before so we already had designs and wireframes and a potential solution. After a discovery call and a mutual NDA sign i sent them over all we had. They were really happy to chat through things i didn't understand and made some really good recommendations (that cut dev costs drastically!)

3 in total. The CEO on the first calls. Then Rob and the dev he used.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

This is where they excelled. I had initially asked for a reduced version of the full product we plan to launch. In order for them to confirm they understood the tech and what it was trying to achieve; they built a mini-MVP, within literally a few days of our call - free of charge! Turns out that this mini MVP actually did the job needed - it was good enough to use as a demo - so we shelved the full build! Far exceeding expectations and massively reducing my build costs, by over 80%!

E-mails and Zoom. Communication was always fast. They're always happy to jump on a call and talk things through with me. Kept me informed when stuff had been completed and in every case, they delivered way before the deadline.

Their speed and knowledge were impressive. They saved me a lot of headache and showed me which corners i could cut without sacrificing quality. Great job with great advice.

This project was small so there wasn't too much that could go wrong - nothing did, i'm very happy

Impressit first provided us with one senior Node.js developer who helped kickstart the project. Due to additional needs that arose, we also chose to bring on a junior developer from Impressit who helped us to quickly meet our short-term goal to integrate with a new POS system.

As we connected with Impressit through an outstaffing agency, the initial requirements and connections were made through that agency. After that, Impressit was flexible to allow us to hop on several interviews, beginning with high-level discussions and ending with more technical whiteboarding sessions.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

With their support, we were able to complete the core functionality of the API and the integration with a new POS system months before we would have been able to complete it with our own resources.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their developers quickly jumped into our workflow, joining our daily sprints and contributing to code reviews. They also provided valuable feedback on improving our project development process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am most impressed by Impressit's high-quality screening processes. Even for their junior developers, it's clear that they hire only the best-of-the-best.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Since the majority of our team works a later shift, there have been some issues coordinating meetings with our outstaffed developers as there are only a few hours of overlap--though sometimes their developers go above and beyond and stay on later to join meetings!

Impressit has built our bespoke iOS app from scratch, working on both the front- and backend. They’ve also collaborated with our team for the app’s UI/UX design. 

Our app is a marketplace where people can buy and sell clothes. A percentage of every transaction goes to environmental initiatives, and through the app, users can choose what initiative they’ll support, such as tree and coral planting. Additionally, users’ profiles also show a counter displaying their environmental impact.

We’ve interacted with seven teammates, including a project manager and their CEO. However, more resources are working behind the scenes.

Our in-house UI/UX resource recommended them.

We’ve spent around £130,000 (approximately $177,000 USD).

We’ve started working together in November 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Impressit has delivered our app on time and within budget, and it works very well. Users are providing overwhelmingly positive feedback for our tool. Additionally, Apple has named our app as one of the great releases for 2021 and featured us as one of their favorite new apps. 

How did Impressit perform from a project management standpoint?

Impressit is great at meeting deadlines. They’re also responsive to messages, even during weekends. They’ve understood our overall business needs, and they’ve been flexible with us regarding finances. We communicate through Jira, Slack, and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The care and dedication they’ve demonstrated for the project have been impressive. We feel like they’re a part of our team.

I can’t fault Impressit for anything — we’ve had a fantastic experience working with them.

I’m the CTO and co-founder of a startup that makes remote patient monitoring software. Our products help manage the chronic conditions of patients who have diseases such as hypertension, heart failure, and diabetes.

What challenge were you trying to address with Impressit?

Competing within the US is quite difficult, especially with big corporations right next door, so we looked offshore, specifically to Impressit, to help us scale our core development team.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Impressit brought senior and principal-level backend engineers and architects to our team. They helped us with developing the API and network infrastructure of our overall platform. We also enlisted their support for our CIPD (Chrome Infrastructure Package Deployment) and for the improvement of the efficiency, optimization, and scale of our other systems.

We work with a senior engineer who’s focused on backend development and a principal engineer who is acting as a technical lead.

We first engaged the team in February 2021. We’re planning to bring in 1–2 more engineers from their team.

Impressit has really helped us in terms of optimizing and speeding up our development workflows. They’ve done a phenomenal job at organizing that whole effort.

Impressit has been really good at documenting and explaining what they’re doing. There’s a proper handoff from the planning phase down to the development process because they work so well, whether that’s independently or with our own team.

They communicate well, but the team could benefit from providing us with information proactively rather than waiting for us to request information. Other than that, though, everything is pretty solid.

Make sure that Impressit understands what you're trying to do and what you're trying to accomplish. Provide them with the requirements both from the business side and from the technical side.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

One of my concerns was onboarding developers remotely; a metric we tracked was the time it took for them to get fully ramped up. That was about two weeks, which was the same amount of time that we needed for our internal team. They also have the same development speed at a more competitive cost.

How did Impressit perform from a project management standpoint?

We lead project management on our end in a SCRUM setting. We have our own product owner, and they run on tickets. We have daily meetings and regular calls. They’re super responsive. Even if it’s a late email, I always get a response.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The main reason we stay with them is their flexibility. Their CEO and CTO are very supportive. We had to cancel one project for business reasons on our end; Impressit was very flexible and helped us to ramp the team down much faster than we had initially put in the contract. If we need a replacement developer for any reason, they’re really fast at finding talent that fits the team.

No, they deliver high-quality staff augmentation.

What helped us is integrating team them into our team and communicating effectively. If there are any problems or issues, raise them to management as quickly as possible.

Simplify IT was a detailed web prototype covering all core screens in our envisioned product. ImpressIT helped us design and the screens following detailed workshops and then develop them to an excellent UI standard.

The project was myself, the product owner, Nicola Graham the business sponsor, a project manager, a developer and a designer on ImpressIt's side.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We successfully demoed the prototype to a number of parties, receiving valuable feedback which allowed us to move forward with the next phase of hour product, creating an MVP.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was via weekly standups and it was effective in quickly resolving issues as they occured. Giving me steady feedback as to progress which I could then pass on to stakeholders.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Roman and his team were extremely friendly, and flexible. They understand our needs quickly and are a delight to work with. That coupled with their teams excellent IT skills meant i've used them in subsequent projects which have also worked well.

We’ve commissioned Impressit to create a simple but entertaining online word search quiz. This online game was supposed to be tailored specifically for iPads and used as a part of brand promotion campaign at a real estate conference.

What were your goals for this project?

Timing and quality were the most important aspects of this project. Since the online game should have been delivered ahead of the conference so that our team could test it and get familiar with it. In addition, the quality of the game should have been at the highest level to resemble our brand’s prestige.

We have worked with Impressit several times now. We are always happy with their result so didn’t hesitate to give this project to them either.

We have provided the designs of the online game to Impressit team. From that stage, they were completely responsible for designing the optimal technical solution, converting design files into fully functional interactive interfaces and making adjustments according to our feedback.

What was the team composition?

The project team consisted mainly of 3 members: Solution Architect who was responsible for finding the optimal stack of technologies and tools to use for our unique needs, a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who was doing all the coding work and a Project Manager who was our single point of contact and provided a seamless customer experience to us.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The animated online game which Impressit team has delivered on time for the real estate conference that our company has been attending helped our brand to stand out from the competition and engage with our target audience deeper. This has definitely helped our sales team to generate more business opportunities.

The project management process was smooth and very clear to us. We were receiving regular updates and timely responses to our requests.

Impressit team is exceptionally good at communicating complex technical challenges in ways we can easily understand.
