I’m a product developer in a Swedish company Zyax AB. In Zyax, we are passionate about technology development and innovation. Zyax aims to develop a system that becomes the heart of the self-thinking energy-efficient smart home. There are many fun technology gadgets to fill the home with today, but they do not always speak so well with each other. We began our technology revolution with the development of a truly competent heart and brain. Different apps for controlling your lights, heating and security system are not needed. One app is all it takes to become energy aware and control your home!

We wanted to create a solution for owners of energy-efficient smart homes. We trusted in EFEKT to build outstanding user experience and user interface experience.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed a team to support us in defining our requirements, screens, architecture, designs, workflows, and other elements related to developing our solution. Our goal was to enter the market quickly with our MVP. I believe the main goal was to help us put our ideas in order. We had loads of features and we didn’t know how to put everything in one piece, not mentioning having good usability.

We were recommended Efekt by common partners. We knew that we would need to have a native mobile application and desktop solution. We got a recommendation from our partner that it’ worth considering EFEKT to take care of this Product Design stage. We had an initial meeting when we discussed the idea. I have been very impressed with their work. They roughly estimated the budget and we started to cooperate.

Describe the project in detail.

Our idea was to create a possibility to connect many branded devices into one HUB, which connects controllers and devices with wired or wireless solutions like Zigbee, Z-Wave or Bluetooth at once. EFEKT was responsible for Web&Mobile design. It required a lot of User Research, the discovery of existing solutions and working a lot on combining all technical requirements into something user-friendly. We had ongoing meetings, demos, exchanging feedback. While the bulk of the project was complete, they continue to make minor updates as requested.

What was the team composition?

We worked directly with Simon- Partner in EFEKT and Przemek- Senior Product Designer. I know that apart from that there was a Visual Identity Designer and Motion Designer who helped with some animations.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We don’t have specific data about Revenue, Customers because we are still in the middle of the development phase. We shared Product Design with our internal team and in general, there was very positive feedback. We believe that adding to your company’s portfolio SmartHome solution will give us a visible edge in Swedish market.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

From time to time we had a face-to-face meeting but mostly our every week our Project Manager set the scope for upcoming sprints. EFEKT invited us to their Slack so it helped a lot in terms of exchanging information. Designs were presented in Invision which was great to understand better how it’s gonna look. at the end.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team at EFEKT was knowledgeable, dedicated, and committed to success. They felt like part of our team. I’m aware that this project was sophisticated in terms of technical requirements and sometimes scope has been changing but EFEKT was very flexible. Whenever we had to push more scope to the development team, they always delivered on time.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The designers in Efekt do insist on their design which sometimes leads to discussions. I do believe these discussions lead to a better end result where we could combine everyone's ideas and thoroughly work on the designs.

We approached EFEKT for our Hardware& Software IoT project. There were responsible for a full Product Design in a Web and Mobile Application.

What were your goals for this project?

The ultimate goal was to make sure that we all are on the same page. We knew that building a whole system will require a lot of development so we didn’t wanna burn our client’s money by many changes a lot into development.

That’s why we emphasized that UX/UI stage is crucial. Clickable prototype and the accepted interface was essential for us.

I asked for a referral from people in the IT industry. EFEKT has been recommended as a company that understands creating digital products and works constantly as UX/UI partner for Tech companies. We met with Simon (partner in EFEKT) and felt that he was someone we could have faith in.

EFEKT started the UX/UI design process with a proper understanding of technical requirements, user stories in the backlog and features which we were aiming to build. Then they build architecture information with a user flow which helped us to understand the whole project from a bird’s eye perspective.

After all of the requirements were established, they built interactive mockups and wireframes, which we later implemented in a Software phase. It was a really close collaboration between our customer and us.

We worked mainly with 2 guys from EFEKT.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I believe that the main impact of our collaboration was the fact that our customer was very satisfied with the outcome of a Product Design part that EFEKT took ownership of. I cannot share any specific numbers of this project due to NDA.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I was mainly responsible for a whole project, but we were all available on Slack and often EFEKT has been talking directly with our customer so it helped me a lot as well. Mutually each week we were discussing what is required.

From time to time we had face-to-face meetings. Projects were presented in Invision where we could track progress and resolve all issues regarding UX/UI. They were very accessible and responsive throughout the engagement.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They matched our expectations. We're very happy with their willingness to take the time to understand the product and technical requirements. What’s more the personal relationship with them was fantastic.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with them. For sure it is now the first company I will reach to when starting another project and in need of UX/UI specialists.

We wanted to upgrade our user experience, user interface in our main system. We were implementing some new products into our overall ecosystem so that was a good moment to think more about usability. We wanted a partner which could help us with that. This is an ongoing cooperation.

What were your goals for this project?

My main goal as a product owner was to fasten the process of delivering certain features that we had in a backlog. I’m aware that prototyping on the design phase is much quicker and cheaper so we were able to discuss new ideas with all stakeholders efficiently.

We were looking for UX/UI partner who might work for us. We interviewed a couple of agencies before narrowing the list to EFEKT. We have conducted first trial engagement and it all went smooth.

We are working together on different projects but what I could say about the process that at the very first EFEKT is trying to understand main goal of the product to make sure that the team is aligned with each other. We are usually spending some time gathering requirements and then EFEKT works on user flows, creating wireframes and going through various iterations of visual design. The last stage is handing over all deliverables for our in-house development team and being in touch if anything needs to be explained for our dev. team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As mentioned above, we work on various projects so it’s kind of hard to outline particular outcomes but in general, definitely speed of implementing new features increased. Awareness of design in our organization has raised as well. I believe we think more about users.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They're very responsive and proactive. I really like that they’ll push back when they really feel something will improve the user experience. They always met our deadlines which was very important for me as a Product Owner. We used Invision to deliver our feedback and check progress of work.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They have a very solid design team. They came up with some interesting design angles and had some very creative flows. They work with a lot of different clients from various markets, so they take the best of best practices from different places in order to see how they can apply them to a new domain. That was clearly visible when we have done one completely new project with geo-localization employees by GPS.

I didn’t have any issues with them. It’s great to have a design company that’s engaged.

After meeting with several companies we compared three major inputs. Previous experience, Cost, Timeline. Afterward, we were convinced to work with EFEKT.

We started with with kick-off meeting where all team members of both parts met and we settled our main goals and vision. Later EFEKT explained the design process and we had workshop which helped us to understand what are we trying to build. We were brainstorming all features of the mobile application and prioritized them into what is most important for version 1.0. Once we have done that, we received wireframes which were foundation of our digital product. We could use a clickable prototype without a line of code to get a feeling of user flow. Later on, we successfully went through User interface phase where we exactly knew how our product gonna looks like.

We were very satisfied working with EFEKT. They had awesome ideas how we can boost our business through digital solutions. We gathered unanimously positive feedback from our customers and current business partners. I think that we could build a competitive edge in our industry.

On a day-to-day basis we were in communication with EFEKT. They have been available for meetings at different times. That was really important for a project delivery and it showed us that they were determined to launch a product according to the timeline.

I was amazed by how they think about business. They are not just designers but more entrepreneurs who are trying to build products that will help you to grow. Throughout the engagement, they were highly professional and made sure the cooperation went smoothly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I have seen great reviews coming in from my customers on AppStore and GooglePlay. People often outlined that they liked very much the design which was clean, minimalist! I’ve gained over 100K users since launch.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

My experience has been great in this sense. EFEKT is prompt and always I knew what was the stage of the project. The project was in budget and on time so it says everything about project management.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

EFEKT Agency really understood what I was trying to do and executed well based on those ideas. They have been one of the agencies which delivered the scope in a short span of time.

We had an IT development team, but required designers to create unique experience. We hired EFEKT to design a modern, high-fashion platform.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create meaningful shopping experience supported by AI which recommends products according to moods or past purchases. My main goal was to gather professionals in different fields of expertise. Our platform operates in the B2C model, so we were aware the design needs to be compelling. Yet, it was not only about beauty, but creating exceptional user experience.

We kicked the project off with a different designer, but after 2 months we haven’t seen satisfying progress. I was introduced to the EFEKT team and we met face to face and talked everything over. There were a lot of things that I liked about them, including their attitude, process and engagement. All their deliverables were on time and on target.

Moodroad.com as a product was described above. EFEKT was responsible for the design and delivery of the interface. We worked together to establish certain concepts and built the UX/UI based on that. They had a lot of solutions that we thought were perfect for our needs and goals.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I don't have any metrics set up at this point, because we have launched recently but we do have great feedback from our internal team and first B2B partners. As a startup, we had our internal roadmap of the product and estimated time of launch, so having an outstanding Product Design was a very important piece to start the development as soon as possible. The pressure was high, but EFEKT managed to deliver everything according to the plan.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Every 2 weeks we had a Demo and Sprint planning which EFEKT regularly attended. What I appreciated most was their high dedication and engagement in those meetings, sharing their experience from previous projects or current trends.

EFEKT cooperated directly with my development and branding teams, so, fortunately, they were self-going. They are very flexible and reliable, which are some of the great parts of our relationship with them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

As mentioned earlier, in the early stage of our project we ran into some issues within the design area, primarily related to communication, timeliness and quality of deliverables. After connecting with the EFEKT team it was clear we're on the same page from day 1, as to What we wish to create and How & When we wanted the project executed.

Morever, we all felt throughout the process that the EFEKT team went far beyond agreed and scheduled tasks with brilliant tips and even business advice. Most warm heartedly recommended!

I’m a CEO of Wrappit - The first outdoor smartphone controller designed to fit every sleeve and handlebar. Use Wraapit when it’s hard to pull off the sleeve to check smartwatch or reach for the phone from the pocket. There's no need for taking off your winter gloves, you can keep your hands on the handlebar to control phone calls, messages, navigation, music, and many more. The main challenge was to create a visually appealing interface of the sports watch according to very strict requirements from our hardware team. I hired EFEKT to help us crafting a great UX/UI experience for our users.

What were your goals for this project?

Our strategy was to launch a Kickstarter campaign to gain brand awareness before our launch and gather money to accelerate our production. My intention was to solve my headaches regarding having great usability. I had a list of user stories that we had to include in our version 1.0. To launch a successful campaign on Kickstarter we had to make high-quality mockups with an interface and short commercial animation showing all the features of our watch. That all has been done by EFEKT.

I’ve heard about EFEKT from a Software Development company which they cooperate with. I was said that EFEKT has strong knowledge of building digital products, startups so we arranged a meeting and from the very first conversation, I knew that they will be a good fit as a UX/UI partner.

We came up with an idea to make a digital watch that will be durable and convenient to use in sports such as skiing, cycling. With my hardware team, I managed to build a working skeleton but there was absolutely lack of interface and thinking about user. Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Once we had the green light, the project moved very quickly. I was pleased by how well they did in a short time frame. The whole project was very complex because requirements from my hardware team were pretty sophisticated but the results were really satisfying. EFEKT was able to understand my vision and they were present in meetings with the hardware team. We wanted to conquer the market with a new digital watch and are currently implementing their work for the next release.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was smooth and we managed to stay within our budget. If we needed face-to-face meetings, we just arranged it a day before but we kept as well as e-mail and phone communication which worked.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I really valued their experience and understanding. They’re a smaller agency relative to others in the creative space, so they’re able to offer better customer service. They also have the desire to succeed that defines an evolving company, so they’re constantly trying to improve and go the extra mile for clients.

I’m Head of Digital Care Lab in DigitalCare. Since 2012 we have been designing and implementing innovative insurance programs and services for mobile devices.

We reached out to EFEKT to find a long-term UX/UI partner to help us build innovative digital products. Our cooperation started in 2016 and we still continue collaboration on various tasks.

The main projects which we have created together were Scanbox and Mirrorcheck.

Scanbox is an innovative device that uses advanced algorithms to scan smartphone screens and checks whether they’re damaged. After passing a screen test, a user can insure their phone that we design specifically for our partner.

Mirrorcheck is an application for extremely secure selfies. It lets users insure their phones by taking a photo in the mirror. After taking a picture, our app uses advanced algorithms to check the condition of a screen

What were your goals for this project?

We needed help in designing our digital products to ensure users could easily understand, navigate, and interact with the backend of our product. What’s more, we had to design a solution which should be very easy to implement for different Telco brands.

When we decided to look for some UX/UI partnership I asked some friends from the IT world to recommend someone who is verified. Based on their past work and our internal review, it seemed like they could help us.

We have ongoing engagement but what I could outline would be in general support in:

As new products on the market, our solutions gathered a lot of positive feedback from users and our Telco partners. The effectiveness of the design was already apparent in the development phase. In short, the cooperation with EFEKT has led to a successful launch of our new products

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They're very responsive and we always felt like we're their priority. We had some challenges around the changing deadlines, but that could be expected because our projects are usually complex and requirements might be changing very quickly. I have to admit that they always pickup a phone even in the evening when we had some instant tasks to do.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

EFEKT is extremely helpful. They have done an outstanding job with being on time which is crucial in our organization because we have really tight deadlines with our Telco partners.

Often the pressure of the projects was high but EFEKT always delivered a scope of the project. I’m very satisfied with their performance and what we pay. It’s very hard to find a partner that’s this responsive and responsible for their work.

What I found most impressive was a good process of building a digital product. We have been accomplishing each stage and we were informed exactly where we are in the project. In general, the atmosphere of cooperation was great.

Levuro provides social publishing tool that provides extensive video and live stream editing possibilities. I lead the technology and product part of the new product concept. We had initial idea what we wanted achieving and drafted some early mock ups to visual the thinking.

We were developing a new mobile app and completely new product. We started to promote it while it was still in the idea level. External help was needed to speed up the process and get clickable prototype ready for the conference. Additionally, we had no Usability/Design expertise in-house.

So the primary goal was to be ready at the main trade show where we exhibited. We wanted to show our demo to potential customers to get early feedback. We knew what we were trying to build but finally, EFEKT helped us to transfer our ideas into interfaces and product we could go with to the exhibit.

A friend of mine recommended EFEKT as a UX/UI company that works with Startups. We wanted to work with some smaller but more flexible companies. Important was their experience, expertise and flexibility. We knew we were not very structured at that point, and we needed company flexible enough to support us.

What I believe speed and efficiency was the biggest advantage. We knew that we have limited time to be ready for the exhibit. EFEKT worked overtime to deliver certain milestones.

They complete deliverables within a matter of weeks. They are a "get things done" company which any early phase company can benefit from.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were working closely with a team of EFEKT so communication was clear on skype. We were always informed about the progress and next steps that they were taking.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their team is hardworking, always completing tasks based on the agreed timeline. We knew that timeline is short and there was a tension to prepare everything but EFEKT faced our expectations in terms of quality and time frame
