We were in the middle of a brand redesign and we wanted a cool video to explain what we do. We couldn't find the time to do it in-house between our own projects, so we decided to outsource it.

We intended to use the video on our website's home page as well as on our social media channels.

Fernando (Founder and Creative Director, Hypno) was in my LinkedIn contact list. I knew him from his previous work and decided to see what he was up to. Their portfolio impressed me.

We had an idea for the video that we shared with Hypno. We worked together on polishing the idea and the style and defining our goals. Finally, we collaborated on the script and storyboard. The final product was a 45-second video. They provided impressive art, the most dynamic and coolest motion graphics we've ever seen, and nice background music and a voiceover.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We worked together during the planning process. Then, in the production process, we received multiple rounds of feedback to make sure our brand was represented well.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video hasn’t been released yet, so we can’t provide any outside feedback, but we are confident it will succeed beyond our expectations. The video is outstanding. We plan to work together again on any upcoming project.

We worked directly with Fernando and our communication was excellent.

The finished video was exactly as expected and even more, and so was the experience of working with Hypno.

Each year, we host a gathering of C-level executive from large U.S. real estate brokerage companies. This time, we’d just launched a new brand and needed several videos to help explain and communicate it to the audience, as well as our clients.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to help attendees and clients understand what T3 Sixty can do for their businesses and inspire them to help craft the future of the real estate industry.

How did you select this vendor?

I saw Hypno's work on Instagram and reached out to their founder, Fernando. Their portfolio was so good that it actually inspired us to do the project in the first place. We reached out to other vendors who might be able to help us, but none seemed as interested or talented as Hypno was.

We’d defined our brand guidelines, audience, creative strategy and media selection, and Hypno brought these items to life by working hard to understand our business, its strengths, and its challenges. They were also very careful about the brand - it had been established via detailed brand guidelines, but had not been animated. He found ways to create beautiful work that was on target and on brand. He then repurposed the content into several different pieces of media, and in the end, delivered dozens of videos.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Hypno was willing to do what it took to produce great work. The content creation process took longer than expected, but they were flexible yet firm, making sure we kept moving things ahead to make our deadlines. We spoke several times a week, sometimes for over an hour each time, to ensure that each detail was handled accurately.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We didn't have firm, quantifiable objectives. But the work was very good and we are very pleased. It was a gargantuan task, and they handled it in a calmly and timely manner.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was extremely strong. Despite the fact that we live nine time zones apart, he made sure that lines of communication were open. We utilized cloud platforms to ensure that we spoke frequently and could share files easily.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Fernando is talented, passionate and kind. They were one of the best vendors I've ever worked with and I would hire him them in a second. I highly recommend them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They need a bit more structure in their paperwork, particularly around contractual conditions. They also need to push back a little harder to make sure that clients know that deadlines are being pushed, and that specific delays could cause problems down the road.

I’m the CEO of a materials-based company that’s developing a novel method to produce a ceramic-based membrane.

We hired them to look after most of our branding materials including the revamp of our website. Their work has included the creation of new branding guidelines from scratch, an incredible video showcasing our technology, and stationery design along with other marketing materials such as flyers and posters.

Our goals were to convey a clear and simple message that could be translated across our different marketing channels.

We had been looking for a cost-effective solution to accomplish these tasks and Fernando [Founder & Creative Director, Hypno] was introduced to us by a friend. He had helped a company called Typeform, which is one of the fastest growing companies in Spain. His background was too good to turn down and we haven’t regretted our decision since.

The project first consisted of looking into our requirements in terms of communication and branding. Hypno easily visualized how this would turn out and then took it forward. We’ve been working together over the last year or so on a number of projects, all of which having been delivered with great care and attention. This has included a new branding guideline, which we are using today to communicate through one single voice.

We’ve had a large number of outputs from Hypno's work with us this year including a revamped website, a new video to showcase our technology, as well as day-to-day design.

The workflow has been very effective given their great availability and quality of work.

Their out-of-the-box thinking and their fast turnaround to deliver work are what I find most impressive about them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hypno.

We needed to develop a series of animated videos for a product pretrial launch for a client.

In terms of software, they used Illustrator and After Effects to produce the series of videos. There might have been additional software used as well.

There were 2 people from their team involved with the project.

How did you come to work with Hypno?

I made a post on motionographer.com and they submitted their work; it was among the strongest that I had received and the price was right. We talked on the phone and I was impressed by their passion for their work and desire to produce top-notch finished products, which was evident in the work samples he shared. I appreciated that he was able to show me a few different examples of the process they used, in terms of style frames and storyboards, and go step by step through it all.

Roughly around $8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2017, and the engagement is finished.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I've been very impressed with the results, and the client loved it as well. They can bring their own thoughts to the table and run with it. The work they produced so far has been and excellent

How did Hypno perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been able to take their own initiative on several aspects, and I haven’t had to micromanage them at all. They’ve been very flexible and on top of their work. We had a very aggressive timeline, and they’ve been able to stick to it. For communication, we’ve primarily used Slack and Google Drive as well for sharing various documents and story boards.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a strong desire to make sure the final video turns out as best as possible. They are willing to jump in even on some of the script aspects and suggest changes that will result in better visuals, and that stood out to me.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would suggest bringing them on as early as possible in the process.

Our marketing partner, Deviate Labs, sourced them. I believe they found Hypno on behance.

We had one workshop session together to figure out how to visually interpret the script. From there Hypo was able to take our assets, from figma, draw inspiration from out website and was able to produce an amazing video that perfectly explained and showcased our brand.

No measurable outcomes yet, as our product has not launched. But thanks to Hypno, we will be ready to go once the product is finished.

The team was very effective. They sent us a timeline with expectations and met it every single time. They were super receptive to feedback and were great partners.

The quality of work they were able to produce in such a short amount of time. They were also able to leverage our branding and establish an animation style with little direction. As we are still developing our product so a lot of our branding has not been explored yet.
