The HR Innovator Group has partnered with Meridian Counseling to provide comprehensive HR services that support our growth, ensure compliance, and strengthen the employee experience across multiple states. Their work is both strategic and hands-on, allowing our leadership team to focus on organizational goals while knowing HR operations are handled with expertise and care. 
Scope of Work: 

• HR Services & Compliance: Proactive guidance on California and multi-state employment laws, audits of Meridian’s practices, and risk mitigation strategies. Support includes employee relations, leave management, wage and hour compliance, and thorough documentation processes. 
• Policies & Procedures: Led the development and rollout of our new multi-state employee handbook, including state-specific addenda, updated policies, and clear guidelines that reflect both compliance requirements and Meridian’s mission and values. 
• Benefits Administration: Coordination with brokers to manage benefits offerings, open enrollment, and employee education, ensuring our staff has access to competitive, compliant, and well-communicated benefit options. 
• Employee Engagement & Culture: Support in creating employee recognition and engagement initiatives, improving onboarding processes, and providing leadership coaching to foster a positive workplace culture. 
• Operational HR Support: Direct assistance with Rippling, reporting, and resolving technical or compliance issues quickly to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Working with Stephanie and The HR Innovator Group has been such a game changer for both me and Meridian Counseling. As the “boots on the ground” HR partner, I’ve grown so much under Stephanie’s mentorship. She’s helped me navigate everything from updating offer letters and aligning our employee classifications to strengthening our benefits management in Rippling and supporting performance conversations with confidence.

With her team’s guidance and support, we’ve built a stronger HR foundation. We now have clearer processes, better communication, and more consistency across the board. I’ve learned to approach every HR situation with structure and care, and it’s made a huge difference in how I support our staff and leadership team. This partnership has truly been one of the most valuable parts of my HR journey.

My experience with The HR Innovator Group has been nothing but positive and rewarding. Stephanie and her team are proactive, communicative, and always one step ahead in anticipating needs. Their support feels seamless, and I’ve consistently felt guided and encouraged throughout every stage of our work together.

If anything, I’d just say to keep doing exactly what they’re doing — leading with passion, strategy, and genuine care. It’s clear they put their whole heart into their work, and it really makes all the difference.

We needed to get compliant with federal and state labor laws and help with all HR roles. I liked that The HR Innovator Group works directly with the employees and is a complete HR partner that dives into our business.

The HR Innovator Group has rewritten our entire employee handbook ensuring everything is compliant, helped set up a new payroll system, strengthened our safety compliance and procedures, and assisted with the hiring and termination process of employees. The team also provides ongoing HR support and training.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re using a great payroll system that allows us to manage employee documents all in one place. We don’t worry about HR operations and compliances with labor laws because we have HRIG with the proper expertise to handle this area. The HR Innovator Group has helped with two termination processes, and they’ve been smooth. The team has also done a complete overhaul of our employee handbook. Overall, I have spent less time dealing with employee issues and feel less stressed about handling HR issues/compliances that I don't have much knowledge about. The ease of knowing we are covered in those areas in itself has been worth the investment.

The HR Innovator Group has exceeded our expectations in terms of project management. We communicate via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and email or messaging apps.
