We had the pleasure of working with Matt, our advertising manager from Hibu, and the experience has been outstanding from start to finish. Initially, we were quite skeptical about making any changes, but Matt’s persistence and confidence made it easy to agree to an initial meeting, and we’re very glad we did. What stood out immediately was his genuine belief in the possibilities and results he could help us achieve. After his presentation, there was absolutely no pressure, just clear information, thoughtful guidance, and confidence in the process. That approach made all the difference and ultimately led us to switch our website campaign over to him. The entire transition was smooth, painless, and surprisingly pleasant. In many cases, changing companies can be stressful and confusing, but Matt made sure that wasn’t the case for us. He guided us through every detail, no matter how small, and continues to stay actively involved. Matt is always available to talk, communicates every step clearly, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks. We’re already starting to see results, which is incredibly encouraging. Hibu’s work failed to meet expectations. The team’s work didn’t increase leads or sales at all. Although they were organized with scheduling, they failed to deliver results as promised.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of an automotive software company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Hibu?

We needed help with digital marketing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We asked them to create a digital marketing campaign to boost sales and bring in more leads. Within two months of working with them, they just took the money out of our bank account with literally no results whatsoever. Nothing was delivered.

What is the team composition?

They have thousands of employees, but I was only speaking with the sales representative and a marketing specialist.

How did you come to work with Hibu?

I found them on Google. I chose them because of the way they represent themselves. In our conversation, they were so nice and promised to do everything so I decided to take a chance and see if they can do what we needed. They promised that it would work 100%.

How much have you invested in them?

I spent at least $7,000. They were charging $2,500 a month with no results.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them in 2016 for about two months.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

In terms of doing what they were supposed to do, I would give them a zero. On the website, I could see the actual leads and where they were coming from. If the leads are coming from Google, I can see that a lead has been driven directly from a Google search. With them, within two months and spending money, there were literally no leads. We had the exact same amount of leads as we did before working with them.

I spent $7,000 and literally had no return. When I told them that I didn’t want to work with them any longer, they told me the contract was at least three months. We didn’t finish the contract with them because it was a waste of money, so it did affect the business a lot.

How was project management handled?

In terms of scheduling and conversations, it was pretty easy, and I would rate them a four out of five in that area. In terms of performance, which is the most important thing, it was absolutely zero.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

No, I can’t think of anything.

In what specific areas can they improve?

Everything should be improved. They have to hire someone who really knows what they are doing. Everything is about knowledge. It isn’t about how you represent the services; it’s about how you can make it happen. If you promise people that you can bring them leads, it is supposed to happen. If you are spending $7,000 and get nothing in return, it’s a scam.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

My advice is to never deal with them. They promise a lot of things but don’t perform any of them.
