We needed help with mobile app development since we don't have an IT department.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ähdus Technology GmbH has developed a mobile app for iOS and Android. The app contains a gaming engine, and its purpose is to bring young people together and give them something interesting to talk about. The app is called 30 Feelings.

Initially, we had a strategy meeting where we described what we wanted: an application that would be attractive to young people. We met again a couple of weeks later, and the team suggested work packages in several steps. The first step was to develop an MVP, and once that was finished, we would do beta testing. A couple of months later, once the app was mature, we would develop the MLP.

Ähdus Technology GmbH has been in charge of the development process, and the app is currently in beta testing.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with around five teammates from Ähdus Technology GmbH. We’ve worked with three or four team members from the development team in Pakistan, and we’ve also worked with Ammar.

How did you come to work with Ähdus Technology GmbH?

We met Ähdus Technology GmbH’s German partner at a restaurant. We sat together by accident and started talking about what we were doing. He said he had a Pakistani partner who did IT development. We told him we had an idea for a game, and a couple of weeks later, we signed the contract.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about €23,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Ähdus Technology GmbH has been our resource to realize our idea. Their work has helped us save time. Ähdus Technology listens to us and our ideas. The team has understood the spirit of our development idea and realized it. The result has been as expected.

For both of us, it has been a learning process. The results of the MVP weren’t marketable, but that was due to our instructions. We weren’t 100% precise, and we still have to do a second step to get it marketable.

How did Ähdus Technology GmbH perform from a project management standpoint?

Ähdus Technology GmbH has delivered on budget. Initially, we defined a fixed price, and the team stuck to the contract. We wanted to do the development in six months, but we needed about 12 months.

We’re preparing to be more precise regarding requirements, capabilities, and product features. 

We collaborate via Microsoft Excel and communicate via Microsoft Teams, phone calls, and email. We also have biweekly reviews to see the results.

The team could better structure their project management and define requirements.

The cultural and personal fit between our companies was exceptional, fostering a strong partnership and enhancing our collaborative efforts. This unique blend of effective communication and personal rapport made working with Ahdus a truly positive and productive experience.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Ähdus Technology could have done differently?

In my eyes, our project with Ahdus was a great success, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future. However, there is one area where Ahdus could improve:

Team Expansion:

German Team Growth: Increasing the size of their German team would enable Ahdus to take on even more projects and better support clients in the region. Given their excellent work, I am confident that this growth will happen in the near future.
Overall, while the project was highly successful, expanding their team would enhance their capacity to deliver outstanding results on a larger scale.

The scope involves developing a mobile application and firmware specifically tailored for GasVisor, an innovative IoT solution revolutionizing gas cylinder management. Through detailed requirements gathering and system architecture design, we aim to create user-friendly interfaces and reliable backend systems optimized for GasVisor's functionality, which Ähdus does at core excellence. 

Rigorous testing is ensured for the high performance of the mobile application and firmware, with deployment and integration efforts focused on seamless operation within the GasVisor ecosystem. We would like to highlight that Ähdus was the first company that enabled us to work simultaneously with the customer while developing with them.

All key deliverables that include full mobile app for easily changing gas cylinders as well as a full functionable firmware for our iot solution (own developed pcb board)have been met.

• time to market reduced from 18 months to 14 months

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The project management has been done on daily basis together with the dedicated project manager given by Ähdus. We had to choose between agile or waterfall management and aligned each other on milestones to succeed and meet the needs from us and our customers. All items have been delivered either on time or before the dedicated milestone. All in all, we're very happy about their response time and ability to meet our needs.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The great and outstanding price and value fit as well as their skill to manage the German as well as Pakistan entity almost simultaneously. Without knowing that they have different entities working closely with each other, we would not have even noticed it. Amazing!

Ähdus could try to offer more and different services apart from mobile, web app as well as firmware development, but so far, all what they do, they do it very good.

We had serious issues with our 3 legacy custom applications. We needed their group to perform an in depth code review of each application while providing insight, recommendations and resolutions to the applications work flows without any loss of operations.

We found them through references such as this note. We needed a process orientated team that takes great care with detailed code and task notes. We needed a group who performs professionally within the Software Development Lifecycle.

They were tasked with providing a thorough code review on 3 of our custom legacy software applications. The team took great steps in understanding each of the applications work flows and provided the necessary recommendations and improvements while flawlessly executing task requirements to keep the critical applications live and operational.

There were a project manager and 2 senior developers.

We were able to avoid any loss of operations with each critical application that we entrusted them to review and support.

The project management is a great improvement from other vendors that we have previously worked with. They were very adaptable in using our preferred communication tools and resources.

We had direct access to the senior developers. This is important as communications can get lost in translation between project managers.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While the quality of work meets all expectations, we could use a daily task and time flow report. I have spoken with the project manager and they are accommodating this request moving forward.
