I can't think of any at this time. Haycor has many clients. What makes Haycor different from other companies is that they make me feel like "I am the most important person in the room" at all times.

I’m the owner and CEO of Natali Products. We’re an importer and distributor of beauty and spa products.

Primarily, we needed to have all of our various systems working well together including our ERP, our cloud, and our websites. They all have to communicate with each other and meet requirements for credit card safety and privacy rules.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked on a couple of different projects with Haycor Computer Solutions. The last thing they did was migrate our old servers onto a new system. They optimized our cabling system for efficiency and made sure everything worked with the legacy systems that were already there. 

The team also set up our wireless network and firewalls. They did some work on-site, but they do the programming and management remotely. They manage all of our computers, do weekly maintenance on our servers, and do fraud and dark web monitoring.

Initially, Jason (Owner) was my main point of contact, and then I began working with another teammate.

I’ve dealt with Haycor Computer Solutions on and off for almost 20 years. They’ve done work for a number of businesses that I’ve been involved with, and I’ve always been happy with their level of service.

So, when we took over this business four years ago, the in-house IT team wasn’t doing their job properly, which is why we brought Haycor Computer Solutions on.

We began working with them in March 2017, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They seem to be doing a good job. I haven’t heard of any issues, which means they’re doing well. The system works well, so they’re succeeding. 

How did Haycor Computer Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

When we have issues, they respond quickly. They’ve even come in after hours, dealing with things with a speed we like. Haycor Computer Solutions understands what we want and gives it to us. 

They have a ticketing system, so if someone has an issue, they use that. I get copied on the ticket email it which allows me to monitor it as well. Within two minutes, there’s typically someone on the phone or on their way over.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team seems to know what they’re talking about compared to the other IT companies I’ve worked with in the past. Haycor Computer Solutions doesn’t make big promises; they tell us what they’re going to do and they do it, which is why I continue to work with them. 

I don’t need the latest and greatest technology; I just need everything to work perfectly all the time, and Haycor Computer Solutions achieves that. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re not the cheapest, but you pay for what you get. I’ve worked with cheaper companies, but I left them and went to Haycor Computer Solutions.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Haycor Computer Solutions to anyone. They’re good at what they do. Everything I’ve asked them to do in the past 20 years, they’ve said yes to and have taken care of it.

They linked our entire computer system together, combining our database, website, WiFi offerings, and server system. Additionally, they made sure we had security and backup through our server system. We started without any of that, so they brought the system together from scratch.

They were great about prioritizing our needs on our timeline. If we needed any additional customer service, I had a weekly check-in call with a representative who was knowledgeable about the company. We didn’t measure metrics but are happy with their work anecdotally.

I’d recommend inviting them to physically examine your facility. It’s also important to have an idea of what you want your office and network to look like from a tech perspective. They’re an honest, experienced team.

We communicate through email, followed up by phone call. We haven’t had many questions since the setup phase, but if we do have them, they’re pretty quick to respond.

Everything still works, which is a good sign.

They could do a little more follow-up. There was a part we ordered that was back-ordered. It would be helpful if they kept us abreast of what’s happening time-wise.

Atec is a sign manufacturing and installation copy. One of our crown achievements is the centre hung scoreboard at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Currently we are also very involved with the construction of walls, dividers and rooms in temporary emergency Covid hospitals. I am the VP of Engineering and Design.

They replaced an IT company we had worked with for years. They also replaced our in house server and backup devices and setup a hybrid system with cloud storage synchronized to our in house server. Also aided in setting up a point to point Internet service, as high speed / fibre is not reasonably available in our area. Also installed a new wifi system in our office. As well as migrate Atec to Microsoft 365.

What were your goals for this project?

To greatly improve total IT environment at Atec and integrate cloud storage.

Referral, and was vetted by my son who was a Software Engineering student and Atec summer employee at the time, now a graduate.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The system was setup successfully and involved extensive replacements and new components and systems. Thankfully before Covid and allowed for the successful transition for half of Atecs staff to work from home with remote access and functions when Covid forced such operations to be.

Great. Ongoing, the customer support setup that Haycor has works well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We have not experienced any issues working with them. So far, it's going good as expected.

I’m the general manager at a custom component manufacturer predominantly in plastics, but we’ve branched out into other raw materials.

All in all, it’s been a smooth transition. We don’t see updates or security threats, which is a testament to the fact that the system is working great.

How did Haycor Computer Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very thorough from a project management standpoint, and they deliver on what they say they will do. Whenever we have any issues, we use the ticketing system, and it’s quite straightforward. We submit a ticket, it’s assigned to one of the engineers, and they resolve it quite quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Haycor Computer Solutions is proactive and reactive. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s been a smooth process. They’ve been very attentive to our needs, so we don’t have any constructive criticism. We’ve been happy with what they’ve done.

Communication is the key, and Haycor Computer Solutions is very communicative. Make sure you tell them upfront what you want, and they’ll follow through. It’s good to be forthcoming.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We experience virtually no downtime. When systems are down, it’s during the evenings while their team switches over servers or backup protocols. Haycor is proactive with cybersecurity. Their team’s knowledgeable and adapts to our budget, which is important.

They’re responsive. When COVID-19 hit, we had to adapt to be completely remote. When it was time to roll out the solution, it happened within a couple of days. We were then ready to be fully remote. They always handle situations professionally.

We experienced 1–2 changes in the team composition, which isn’t unexpected. The transitions were seamless. Their team’s upfront with deadlines, which haven’t been a problem. Whenever there’s a problem, they quickly respond.

I don’t have a huge history with other providers. However, Haycor set us up well. We know that we’re secure based on the security measures and backup systems that their team put into place. They’re also proactive, making suggestions ahead of any possible problems.

Haycor Computer Solutions helps us with QuickBooks. They set us up on remote desktops so that we can VPN into all of our secure files. 

Additionally, if we have a new employee starting, the team makes sure that that person has all the applications they need with all their usernames and new passwords. They also help us with security, making sure that all of our data is secure on a remote desktop.

Any one of their employees assists us when we need help. We also interact with Jason (Owner).

Their service is amazing. If our remote desktop goes down or we have a situation where we need something quite quickly, the team answers our calls even on the weekend. 

How did Haycor Computer Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

When we have issues, we send it off to Haycor Computer Solutions for support, and one of their employees picks it up and helps us. We get a response with a ticket number and someone on the team reaches out to let us know that they’re working on it.

We also call them when we have questions. Every quarter, Jason reaches out to go over all of the applications that we use and to make sure that we’re up to date. If there’s anything new out there regarding cybersecurity, he’ll make recommendations for upgrades to our system.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everyone on their team is very knowledgeable in their industry, and that gives us comfort. They also offer fair pricing for their suggestions. When we were setting up all of our directories, Jason gave us a couple of issues to choose from. He advised against the first one we chose and gave us reasons for why we should try something else.

We still went ahead with what we decided, and three years later, we realized that we probably should’ve gone with what Haycor Computer Solutions had suggested. Now, we’re in the process of changing our directories. The team isn’t pushy; they give us options but still go with what we ask.

No, not that I can think of.

If you’re going to work with them, you need to have a little bit of knowledge of what they’re talking about.

Look at the big picture of what your company is trying to accomplish and break that down into different silos to make sure that everything flows properly through the processes. Understand what you’re being offered and what you’re accepting.
