GTA Accounting does our quarterly bookkeeping, files our corporate taxes, and performs review engagements. The review engagements serve as a “mini-audit” to provide to government and private investors to ensure that our accounting and financial practices are “by the book.” This boosts investor confidence.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

GTA Accounting delivers on time and at cost. Thanks to their work, we’ve passed our government and investor audits, which is a success. We’ve also received a lot of investment, support, and marketing for our business to grow and scale.

How did GTA Accounting perform from a project management standpoint?

Austin (Founder & CEO) is very timely. We communicate via email and phone calls for urgent needs.

Their pricing is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if they created online client folders that they shared with us to input our accounting documents, such as receipts. This way, we’d all have them in the same place for both parties to refer to when needed.

The scope of work included advising me on the proper structure for setting up a U.S. corporation that aligns with my privacy and liability protection needs. After providing clear and tailored guidance, GTA Accounting handled the entire setup process for the U.S. corporation directly.

In addition to the U.S. entity setup, Austin has also been responsible for ongoing bookkeeping and tax filing services for my Canadian corporation. This included maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Canadian tax regulations, and filing the necessary returns in a timely manner. 

Key deliverables:

• Strategic consultation on U.S. corporation structure (with a focus on privacy and liability protection)
• Full handling of U.S. corporation formation
• Ongoing bookkeeping for my Canadian corporation
• Tax preparation and filing for my Canadian corporation. 

Overall, the support covers both strategic advisory and hands-on execution across my Canadian and US business needs.

While I’m overall satisfied with the service provided, there were a couple of areas where I believe there’s room for improvement.

First, there was a miscommunication between departments where I was asked about a payment that had already been completed. It wasn’t a major issue, but it did highlight the need for better internal coordination.

Second, during our initial consultation call, another client accidentally joined the meeting multiple times due to a double booking. It was a bit distracting and could be addressed with more careful scheduling to ensure a smoother client experience.

That said, these were isolated incidents, and they didn’t take away from the overall quality and professionalism of the service.

Alexa of GTA worked through my books and asked a lot of questions.  She then fixed and corrected issues in the books.  In the end, she saved me 40% on my taxes compared to what I had to file using my previous CPA.  Alexa was very responsive and able to answer all my questions.
