Great written materials were produced for our website’s SEO. We had on-page modifications and plenty of press release articles. They also worked on link building and URL health. The calls we receive got a huge increase in number. We now get calls all during the season.

Our business is developing mainly during summer time because in winter time people are not interested in mosquitoes nets. Growwwise understood that we need to act fast so that we get the results for the summertime season. They asked plenty of questions and created the materials so that the clients get very well informed. The conversion rate increased because most of the people calling us understood our services very well from the website.

The call-to-action buttons and the customer journey changed from the first weeks they started working on our website. It was important for us that clients can reach the contact form / phone or email faster and easier.

Secondly, the SEO external link building strategy changed considerably. I always like to look at analytics and use the tools I have to notice where the traffic comes to our website.

Growwwise explained and handled the audience so that we will receive only relevant clicks and visits on the website.

Our services refer to homeowners from Boston, Newton, Arlington – all areas in Massachusetts, therefore our urgency was to stop getting bad quality traffic from countries around the world and only focus on the local business.

I have the perfect image of a beauty brand. We have a great brand image, packaging, social media images, website – all manners of communication, on all platforms we have a beautiful image of a quality brand. 

The brand was built in 2017, and since then I am still impressed with people’s reactions to my project. I receive lots of admiration from people for business and I know it is, in part, thanks to the branding work developed by Growwwise.

My investment was 6.000 EUR for the website. The branding and social media design and content creation were 3.000 EUR. The total investment was 9.000 EUR.

The project lasted 2 months, and it happens in 2017.

I had good communication with their team. I was the only one deciding on my side, so they understood me, and they offered support and good communication. We used Skype, email, WhatsApp to keep the discussion open.

I was impressed with the visual impact of the branding they offered. It was exactly as I wanted it: mint and silver colors, natural elements, a degree of chic, simple yet sophisticated design.

I am the COO of SouthMed Global LLC. We are an advisory group and a consortium of European and American consultants. We basically integrate advisory services covering institutional relations, risk management, finance, and dealing with the challenges and emerging markets and democracies of North Africa and the Southern Mediterranean.

What challenge were you trying to address with Growwwise?

We were trying to come up with a branding that builds on the heritage in North Africa. We were looking for hope, especially dealing with the issues that this pandemic is bringing to North Africa.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided them with the identities of the different partners we have in Europe, in North Africa, and in the United States. They carefully researched the individual and the history of the teams. For example, we work with one of the largest media companies for communications and we work with BGR which is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, lobbying organizations in Washington. We work with risk management companies that are involved with security and some of the issues that are faced by people in North Africa.

We provided them with all these details and told them that we needed to come up with a logo and a branding campaign. I think through the interviews and research especially looking at the cultural aspects is how we moved forward.

They helped us with the business cards, letterheads, the site, and some of the presentation materials including the audio and video and making sure that the harmonies, colors, and presentation that we did with some of the stakeholders in North Africa were involved.

What is the team composition?

We talked to about 4–5 people from their team. There were people involved with some of the technical aspects and some of the more cultural aspects, trying to have a branding campaign that covers both the US and the European approaches.

How did you come to work with Growwwise?

They were recommended by people in London that we dealt with. They have a strong presence in Eastern Europe in emerging democracies and emerging markets. They have worked with them on campaigns in central and eastern Europe, particularly in Romania. We approached them to look at North Africa. We liked their take on societies that are in post-revolutionary stages and transitions and dealing with change in a very fluid environment.

When it came to this pandemic and the realities faced in the Southern Mediterranean, we found that their take on dealing with change was quite unique. Most of the people we talked to, especially here in Washington, were very good at branding and communication when things are settled, but when the world is being turned upside down by this pandemic, we found their thinking to be a bit rigid and cautious. 

People from Growwwise, because they are from Europe, they have the background and know what change is about, they understand what it is like to wake up tomorrow in a different world. When we sat down with ministers and government and stakeholders in North Africa, it was those clients and partners in North Africa that actually said they had amazing ideas.

Growwwise can deal with the unknowns of tomorrow. They can actually grasp and give a sense of confidence while the typical people we talked to said these were crazy times. We know these are crazy times but we needed to know how we were going to put something together and come up with a strategy and come up with something when the world is falling apart.

What is the status of this engagement?

It was February of 2020 when we got the go-ahead from everybody. We are still working with them and we have a few things that we are exploring with them.

Our first discussions were last year when we needed to come up with a new approach to get the stakeholders in Washington to care about what is happening in North Africa because instability in North Africa affects Europe and in turn, Europe affects the US. Then of course we had to have the proper support and partners in North Africa which took a few weeks.

We started finalizing the branding and imagery, especially the idea of a lighthouse which was very fascinating because, during these difficult times, the lighthouse even in the Mediterranean culture is very important. When we have these stormy times we are living in, you want to look for the lighthouse and to see the beacon of the lighthouse. They came up with it and everyone was very impressed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everyone is scared of what is going on in the world. What amazed us is how good they were at building confidence. When you are in a room full of people, especially when there is no personal contact as everything over Zoom, they were able to make people feel good about the decisions. They are very persuasive and there was trust and confidence that came across in all of our interactions. I guess it is because they have been through many challenges in Europe. They were able to present the options and make people feel good about the decisions that were made.

For them to deal with incomplete and imperfect information because no one knows exactly what is going to happen next, especially earlier this year, it was amazing. It was very professional, and they dealt with all the unknowns in a very timely manner. We are very impressed.

How did Growwwise perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Zoom and Skype, but it depended on the internet and bandwidth that is available overseas, as some places in North Africa where some of the stakeholders are involved, have issues with internet coverage. They have been very flexible, but we mostly used Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The trust we have with them. I am convinced that you can work with them from anywhere in the world and do well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really because we are happy with what we saw. In terms of improvements, they are improving on their own and coming back to us with suggestions on how to adjust some of these elements we have in our campaign. They bring us all sorts of ideas about improving things. I don’t need to think about something because they come up with it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice would be to just lay it all out. Show all of the pluses and minuses of your project. They can handle the unknown. They have seen many things in their lives, and they won’t be scared of certain things. Be upfront and lay it all out and they will come up with very creative solutions. My advice would be to just trust them.

They did the customer journey, the logo, the branding, each page was designed and build with their experience, I just allowed the process to happen. I was never a big fan of text, I wanted a website which expresses itself using the power of images. I wanted a easy to use platform, that is why Growwwise proposed to use Word Press. I wanted to be able to upload new images on my own.

They assigned me a project manager and everything was discussed between me and that project manager. I know they also had an IT expert and one graphic designer for my project, but I did not meet with the rest of the team.

I had and still have a great number of people interested in my work, my portfolio. With the help of the website I was able to present people my work which is truly fantastic. I still need to do the search engine optimization work, SEO, but I plan to do that after I upload more of the recent pictures on my website. My passion is nature and I am always inspired to travel, explore and create new content.

-85% traffic in just 3 months.

That’s the result after hiring this SEO company. Instead of improving rankings, my website traffic collapsed.

No explanation, no investigation, no support. When I asked what happened, they provided no clear reasons and made no effort to fix the issue. Communication quickly stopped.

In the end, they took the money and disappeared while the damage remained.

Project management was very poor. Deliverables were unclear and there was little transparency about what was actually being done. Communication was inconsistent, and when the traffic dropped by 85%, there was no urgency or structured effort to investigate the issue.

Deadlines and expectations were vague, and whenever I asked for updates or explanations, the responses were either delayed or not helpful. Instead of addressing the problem and working toward a solution, the communication gradually stopped.

Overall, they provided no real support or showed accountability when things went wrong.

Growwwise could significantly improve transparency, communication, and accountability. When the traffic dropped by 85%, there should have been an immediate investigation, a clear explanation of what happened, and a concrete recovery plan.

Regular reporting, proactive communication, and real support when problems appear would make a major difference. Instead of disappearing when results turned negative, they should take responsibility and work with the client to fix the damage.
