BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of Nino Salvaggio Markets, a gourmet grocery store chain of four stores. I’m in charge of big-picture aspects of the company, including our general direction and new programs.

What challenge were you trying to address with Goldforest Brand Communications?

We hired them for branding.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Goldforest has provided us with branding services for almost 25 years. They’ve branded everything from our websites to our products, including our jar of tomato sauce, our spice line, our meat department products, and much more. We have 6–7 different brands throughout the store that Goldforest has helped us with. They design all our labels and purchase them.

Our latest project with the team has been our e-commerce website development to replace an existing site. I worked with them on the look and feel of the site, which enables users to search for recipes, order products, and check our special sales. 

What is the team composition?

We mainly work with three teammates from Goldforest. 

How did you come to work with Goldforest Brand Communications?

I met them at a private label conference in Las Vegas in the late 1990s. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent well over $1 million with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around September 1998, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re very happy with the quality of Goldforest’s work, which is why we’ve kept working with them for so long. As a small, independent company with four stores, we have some of the best brandings compared to the competition. The site functions as intended and has exceeded our expectations; its growth has been substantial over the last six years with Goldforest’s help. 

How did Goldforest Brand Communications perform from a project management standpoint?

They do an outstanding job at project management, delivering on time and within budget. We communicate via email, phone, and in person, and we’ve also done a few Zoom calls along the way. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Goldforest’s creativity is outstanding; they’ve created very unique campaigns for us. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There isn’t really anything they need to improve.

I have worked with Goldforest on multiple projects- web design, physical and digital marketing collateral, direct mail, automated email correspondence, and more.

How did you select this vendor?

I selected Goldforest after vetting a dozen or so vendors, and directly interviewing 3 or 4. My decision to put our trust in Goldforest has reaped dividends.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

Again, I’ve worked with Goldforest on a variety of projects, the scopes of work of which ran the gamut. In all cases, Goldforest has provided professional and well-researched prospectuses; and deliverables were completed on time and under budget.

I’ve worked with half a dozen of Goldforest’s staff:

• research staff
• graphic designers

I’ve had good interactions with all of them.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Goldforest has been instrumental in our company’s brand development, and ongoing, exponential growth.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Projects are managed with clear, well documented scopes of work, goals are well thought out, and communication is impeccable. On many an occasion, I’m reminded that I the client am holding up a project, and rarely vice versa.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Goldforest gets things done. I can trust that when I hire Goldforest and they agree to a project, that project will be completed on time in a competent fashion. It’s not unusual for Goldforest Branding to go above and beyond my expectations.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Probably, but all the good work dwarfs any shortcomings to an extent that I cannot remember what those shortcomings might have been.
