We selected IAM - due to the previous work, speaking with their previous clients and Ian totally understood what we were trying to achieve. It was a no-brainer.

We showcased our video first of all, on our stand at an exhibition which went down really really well. We now have the video on the main home page.

We wanted to have an animated explainer video created for our product dataEssence. We had tried to produce this inhouse but found that we were struggling with the story board and creative story telling. Also, we were struggling to keep this to c. 60 seconds.

I had seen some of their work in LinkedIn and also looked up their website. They have a lot of animated videos that they showcase, so it was quick to view a number of the videos and understand their style. What was also nice was that they had transparent pricing, so we knew up front the cost of the animated explainer video.

I had an introductory call where they described the process and the information that they would require. Once that was supplied they provided an initial 'theme board' which we could provide feedback on.

The next stage was to get a story board, some concept images, and a low fidelity walk through of the animation using the story board. This was followed by a draft version of the animation which was signed off with no changes. Through out the process we could provide feedback - so the end result was what we expected.

Predominantly an account manager but there was a couple of the animated / creative staff who were on copy or could provide feedback.

The main video has been uploaded to a number of social platforms + our website. It is difficult to gauge the success of these as we do not have direct attribution. In addition, it has been possible to break out elements of the video to make into small social posts - so it has given us additional collateral.

Workflow was seamless. we used several different channels;  frame.io, linkedIn and email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think their USP is the script / storytelling. They are good at conveying a message as opposed to just having a feature led explainer video. The fact that this is backed up by a talented creative team and genuinely nice people provides a great experience.

There wasn't anything they needed to improve on.

Honestly, no. We're so pleased with the result that we're scheduling our next project with them.

IAM Productions share their work online, we saw it, thought it looked great so go in touch. Seemed really simple and transparent, we also liked the guys that run it.

We started with a discovery meeting, they sent a proposal, we accepted, we iterated through a few different versions of the script, they listened and updated, then sent animation styles which again they iterated on based on feedback, they made v1, we asked for a small tweak, they did it, we loved it.

Ian was our main point of contact, he was great, everything was super clear and they delivered. So simple.

Our business model relies on finance commissions as one of it one of the main revenue streams. The concept of a Personal Contract Purchase is often misunderstood and therefore avoided by our customers (and avoided by the sales team as it is perceived as a more difficult sell). The goal was to break the myths around PCP.

Initial call with Ian to discuss what I wanted to achieve with the animation. I had one key visual that I needed bringing to life, which would help customers understand all their options in a short space of time. I provided a script, which the team at IAM helped to polish and perfect. Initial concept drawing were agree and work started.

Due to the financial nature of the explainer video, all work had to be approved by our Compliance provider. This lead to some alterations which were re-animated and re-scripted. IAM were very patient with these alterations. Finally, our Marketing team added their input to ensure everything was completely on Brand and the final animation was completed.

Ian was my point of contact throughout. All feedback was clear, rational and very professional. Ian was always happy and willing to walk us through each step of the process.

So far, this Animation has been shared internally by way of presentations to all managers and sales executives. The sales execs have been very receptive and love the simplicity which helps quickly explain what can be a confusing topic.

Project management was seamless. I would feed all ideas to Ian via email and then we would discuss via phone or zoom call, to ensure nothing was lost in translation. Ian was very clear on time lines and exactly what is achievable. IAM's patience with our updates and changes was exemplary. Nothing was too much, to ensure we achieved our desired outcome.

IAM Productions understood the concept I wanted and achieved it very quickly. Being on the same wave length from the beginning meant we were able to spend time fine tuning and perfecting the project. Very little, if any, time was waisted. Every communication pushed the project in a positive direction.

After an initial call with IAM, I was sent some questions to answer out so they could gain an understanding of what we were looking for. IAM promptly sent various scripts, animations and storyboards over for approval in stages, ensuring we were happy with everything before proceeding. They then sent the completed video for approval before exporting and delivering.

I worked with Ian, who was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process. They were prompt and detailed in their responses.

We started with filling in a form explaining who we were and what we were trying to accomplish and we sent over our company branding. They wrote a script for the video which we gave feedback on and then the animation process begun. Once it was finished we signed it off with no issues at all. We did our research and spoke to couple of video agencies based on their portfolio. We like IAM the most for two reasons: 1. Quality of Video and 2. The scripts for most of the video were accurate and to the point.

We started with discovery call and we were amazed by the way they have defined the process. It was easy for us to put across our thoughts and the team was quick enough to turn it around in a quick storyline. We technically had just 2-3 sessions before we got the best version we got the best version of the video. All the suggestions were to the point and had enriched the messaging. They were smart enough to tweak the script/animation in a way that suits our requirement in no time.

We worked with Dom and the feedback process was quite straightforward. We use to get on a call to discuss the feedback once and the next time it was all resolved. There was no issue in explaining the concept or repeating feedback. It cannot be any smoother process than this.

We showed the final video to many friends and colleagues, everyone liked the video. We are extremely happy and would love to work again with IAM production.

IAM created two outstanding videos for ONO. One for the driver and one for fleet owners. They nailed the concept and energy for the piece. I was kept informed during all stages of the design and creation process, resulting in two very good videos.

What was the team composition?

Dom heads up as the production manager and he made sure I knew what each team member was doing and within what time frame. Mollie was a superstar copywriter who took my mammoth essays and turned them into marketing suitable copy!

For a 58 second video we have had 13k views on YouTube. I’ve shown it to potential investors (who have loved it!!) And it has pride of place in the pitch deck and website.
