**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire IDAP, and what were your goals? My company engaged IDAP to help develop our platform. We needed a skilled team that could support us with design, software development and testing. I knew that I wanted to use an Eastern European provider due to the price. I wanted a firm that would not only build what I wanted, but that would also help me define the scope and bring suggestions. I did a small market review which is how I found IDAP.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?Great communication, the highest level of the professionalismDescribe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.We needed a skilled team that could support us with design, software development and testing. They were working on a new and quite difficult product, that need to be easy to use. They helped me scope out the project—I'm not technical person, so they consulted me on which tech solutions would be most appropriate in my case. We’ve worked with IDAP on UI/UX design, development, and testing across the project. How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions? We have 5 people as a dedicated team.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables? The most direct impact is the satisfaction of our users and how often we get praises for how well our product works. They had an amazing project leader who was engaged in our business practices. He offered great consulting. From their side, they supported us in all possible ways. When conflicts appeared, IDAP was problem-solving.Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness. We had team meetings twice/three times each week. Since we live not in the same countries, it wasn't easy to meet in-person, but we did it every month before the Covid19. We had Google Meet meetings and worked through a project management system. For design and mockups, they used Figma. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?Everyone on the team is very responsive. They were emotionally involved in the project. For part of the project, we needed their almost 24/7 support to handle a development process and they've delivered exactly what we wanted from the project perspective. They delivered. They fixed bugs as soon as they came up. That level of support was unmatched. Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently? They work with professional developers and communicate well. Their team won't let you down in those areas.

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the VP of data operations at Energy Outreach Colorado.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with GLOBALDEV?We needed help developing an online application for our energy assistance program.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?GLOBALDEV is helping us develop a web app that allows participants to apply online for the energy assistance programs we provide. The first step was exploratory; we took some time to define the requirements and did some wireframe designs. From there, they built a refined estimate of the cost.Once we had the UX, requirements, and wireframe designs, we looked at the cost and decided what features we could keep and what we couldn’t. We've gone from there. GLOBALDEV uses Figma for design and React for frontend development. What is the team composition? We have a project manager, a UI/UX designer, front- and backend developers, QA teammates, and DevOps engineers. How did you come to work with GLOBALDEV?A long time ago, I worked with Steelkiwi, and they were absorbed by GLOBALDEV. My experience with Steelkiwi was good, so I reached out to GLOBALDEV. I also reached out to some other providers, evaluated them, and decided to go with GLOBALDEV.How much have you invested with them? We’ve spent over $100,000.What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in February 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We don’t have development capabilities, so GLOBALDEV has enabled us to do something we wouldn’t be able to do ourselves. How did GLOBALDEV perform from a project management standpoint? We've gone a little over budget, but that is more due to our changing requirements. GLOBALDEV always communicates the impact of these changes on the budget and is clear about the upfront cost. Overall, they communicate very well using Jira, Slack, email, and phone calls. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?I want to give a shout-out to Mykhailo, who is our frontend developer, and also to our backend developer. They've done a great job of trying to understand our issues. Additionally, they're great at communicating, asking questions, and ensuring they understand the requirements. What did you find most impressive about them? The quality of their work meets our expectations. Are there any areas they could improve? They could improve the tracking of features and issues. At some points, there hasn't been clear visibility in terms of the features they had, the issues they were working on, and what they had finished.Do you have any advice for potential customers? When developing the requirements, make sure all internal stakeholders are involved in the discussion and that everybody is on the same page. The initial phase of developing requirements and user stories is valuable, rather than jumping into development; it helps clarify the picture.

The core components of the project are:Community and Social Media Monitoring: The system will automatically monitor key external community platforms such as Instiz, X (formerly Twitter), and theqoo, which are widely used by K-pop fans to discuss artists and related events.Issue Detection and Real-time Alerts: Using web crawling and APIs, the ECMS will detect relevant discussions or issues on these platforms. Detected issues will be immediately reported via integrated Slack notifications, allowing for timely responses and actions.Admin Portal: The project will include an admin interface where users can configure monitoring settings such as keywords, time frames, and notification frequency. The admin portal will eventually be embedded within the administration system of the platform.Scalability and Flexibility: The system is designed to expand in scope, allowing for the addition of more community platforms and extended functionalities such as new alert types and advanced analytics based on user feedback and evolving requirements.Key Deliverables:Automated Monitoring System: A fully operational system that monitors external community platforms (Instiz, X, theqoo) in real-time, capturing relevant discussions related to the platform and its artists.Slack Integration: Alerts are sent to designated Slack channels, including key information such as keywords, a summary of posts, event timestamps, and links to the original posts.ECMS Admin Portal: A web-based admin portal where administrators can configure monitoring settings, including keyword management, monitoring channels, and notification preferences.Advanced Analytics and Issue Detection: The system will include features that allow for more advanced issue detection, such as monitoring patterns of increased keyword appearances, and will notify administrators when anomalies are detected.API and Web Crawling Strategy: A flexible API and web crawling strategy will be implemented, balancing effective data collection with minimal API usage and avoiding system blockages.

""Overall, we have been happy with the work provided by GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi).""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there. We are a fintech that provides technology solutions relating to loans and financing. I am the an executive, responsible for leading the company and overseeing all aspects of its operations, including the interactions with SteelKiwi.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Steelkiwi, and what were your goals? Our company hired Steelkiwi to help with building our back-office software and augmenting our existing development team. Our goals in hiring Steelkiwi included the building of the back-office software, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our software development process, increasing the capacity of our team, and bringing in specialised expertise and skills.By working with Steelkiwi, we hoped to achieve a high level of quality and performance in the software we were developing and to meet internal deadlines or milestones that had been set. We also hired Steelkiwi to help with specific internal projects, such as the design, development, testing, or deployment of back-office application features. In any case, the ultimate goal of hiring Steelkiwi was to help our company achieve its development objectives.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors? We first learned about this vendor from Clutch, where we found positive reviews of their work for similar clients. After reading the review, we decided to reach out to them and schedule an interview to learn more about their capabilities and experience. After interviewing SteelKiwi, we added them to a shortlist of potential vendor candidates and conducted client references to gather additional insights into their work. The deciding factors for us were the positive Clutch reviews and the positive feedback we received from client references. Based on these factors, we ultimately selected this vendor to work with us on our project.Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used. Our back-office system is a set of stand-alone workplaces which are combined in an end-to-end system and address different parts of the credit financing journey. For the MVP phase, Steelkiwi started by designing the overall user experience of the back-office software. Key features include logging in to the back office and viewing, sorting, searching, and filtering loan applications. They then built the various workspaces of the back office, including the Origination Workspace (for creating and managing loan applications), Underwriting Workspace (for making decisions on whether the loan application should be approved), Servicing Workspace (for disbursing funds for the approved loans, monitoring, and managing the repayment of loans), Collection Workspace (for processing past-due loans), System Workspace (user accounts, notifications, and documents management) and Tasks.**Technologies used include:** Backend:PythonDjangoDjango Rest FrameworkPostgreSQLRedisCeleryDocker/Docker composeAWS S3AWS CloudfrontSentryFrontend:ReactJsReduxRedux-sagaRedux-toolkitFormikYupreact-queryprop-typesdayJsrc-tableHow many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?8 people from the vendor’s team worked with us, including 2 Business Analysts, 1 Python Engineer, 2 Frontend Engineers, 1 UI/UX Designer, and 2 QA Engineers.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?SteelKiwi was able to deliver a fully functional back-office app that met all of our business requirements. The team was proactive, collaborative, highly professional, and always on top of their assigned goals. They were also responsive to our feedback and often took no time to address new queries. Overall, we found it very easy to work with SteelKiwi and were consistently impressed with the quality of the project outcomes. One area for improvement in measurable outcomes is that SteelKiwi could have been more accurate in estimating timing and costing. While there were minor delays to completion, the delays were not too problematic for our company and are somewhat expected from our experience working with other agencies. In the future, we would appreciate if SteelKiwi could be more proactive in striving to complete projects within the set timeframe. However, as mentioned, this was a minor issue that we anticipated and did not significantly impact the project's overall success.Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.SteelKiwi has a structured and professional approach to project management. They use a variety of communication tools, including Slack, Confluence, Trello, and JIRA, to stay in touch with us and keep us informed about the progress of the project. The team is highly interactive and provides us with regular updates on their progress. We have found that SteelKiwi's structured project management style, timely communication, and great sense of responsibility have given us full confidence in their ability to deliver high-quality software on time. While we do not have much in-person interaction with SteelKiwi due to the remote nature of the project, their use of these communication tools has helped to keep us connected and informed. One area for improvement in terms of communication could be to provide more frequent updates on when the next release/deployment/demo will be. While we receive weekly reports detailing the work that has been done, we would appreciate more frequent updates about the actual release to help us stay on top of the project's progress. However, this is a minor issue and has not significantly impacted the success of the project. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company? One thing that really stands out to us about Steelkiwi is their structured approach to project management. They have a clear system in place for tracking tasks and progress, and this has helped to ensure that our projects stay on track and are completed efficiently. Another impressive aspect of Steelkiwi is the strength of their teamwork, despite the fact that they are a remote-working team. Each team member takes full ownership of their tasks and is also aware of what the other members are working on. This allows them to collaborate effectively and ensure that all aspects of the project are being handled efficiently. We also appreciate the clear and professional manner in which Steelkiwi communicates with us. They keep us informed of progress and are always available to answer any questions or address any concerns we may have.Specifically, we have been most impressed by Steelkiwi's ability to maintain high quality delivery even during difficult circumstances. During the Ukraine war, when a number of team members working with us were based in Ukraine, Steelkiwi's management team was able to maintain a smooth process and keep the team working effectively despite the challenges and disruptions caused by the war. This is a testament to their strong management skills and ability to adapt to changes and solve many challenges. Overall, we find Steelkiwi's skills and expertise to be complementary, and this has contributed to the successful completion of our projects. We believe that Steelkiwi's structured project management system, strong teamwork, and clear communication are key factors that have contributed to their success and have made them a valuable partner for our company. Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?Overall, we have been happy with the work provided by SteelKiwi. Their deliverables have consistently met our expectations, and we appreciate their commitment to quality. - There was one instance where we had concerns about the performance of a specific project member, and they promptly replaced that member upon our request. We appreciate their willingness to address our concerns and make sure that the team is meeting our expectations. -Another issue we have encountered is that the team has changed somewhat over the 1-year course of our interaction with SteelKiwi. While we would prefer to work with the same team for the duration of the project, this has not always been possible due to circumstances beyond the team's control. However, the team has made an effort to ensure a smooth transition and has done their best to maintain continuity despite the changes.Additionally, a few team members have left the company during the project, which has presented some challenges. However, we understand that these departures may have been due to disruptions caused by the Ukraine war, and we appreciate the agency's efforts to minimize the impact on the project. - We have also provided some feedback to SteelKiwi in terms of giving us more visibility on billing and hours accrued, and they were responsive to our suggestions and implemented the changes we requested. One thing we particularly appreciate is the quick response times of our project manager, Daniel. He has always been prompt in addressing any questions, suggestions, or enquiries, which gives us confidence that the agency is always looking for ways to improve. Overall, we feel that SteelKiwi is open to feedback and willing to make changes in order to meet our needs and expectations.

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to GLOBALDEV's (formerly Steelkiwi's) work, the client received positive feedback from end users. They delivered high-quality work promptly, exceeding the client's expectations. Their clear and candid communication via Slack and WhatsApp made them a reliable partner. They were proactive, quick, and responsive.
""This is a very pleasant and rare situation in which we can confidently say we have no complaints. ""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I am an executive at our startup, it is an e-market place that helps streamline the process between vendors and clients in the event place.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Steelkiwi, and what were your goals? We hired Steelkiwi to develop our application, frontend and backend. Our goal was to have a detailed yet user friendly application and dashboard for both our customers and our vendors.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors? After countless hours and meetings with various companies, we decided on Steelkiwi for a range of reasons. Significantly, our first point of contact, Igor the business development manager was exceptionally accommodating of even our most ambitious plans and continued to be so throughout. He went as far as making the trip over to Jeddah to meet in person and spent many hours over zoom patiently answering all our questions and always ensuring that the decisions regarding our application were made in our best interest.Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used. Our key deliverables were the main application for customers and the vendor dashboard for our vendors, as well as our admin dashboard. The frontend was developed using Flutter and Python. While the backend was developed using Django. How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions? We started with a business development manager Igor, as well as Oksana our project manager and a business analyst Igor. We mostly interacted with Oksana and Igor as well as a team of frontend, backend developers (approximately 4 or 5) all who were excellent and quick to adjust to any changes in specifications that we had.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables? While we have yet to launch, the quality tests amongst friends and family have gone very well. They understood our desire for a clean interface that flowed very well together and at all stages surpassed our expectations.Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.Oksana was very responsive at all stages of this project, she was very clear and ensured that we were kept abreast of all aspects of development and finances. She was also quick to adjust according to what worked best for us, for example while the bulk of communication between us and the development happened on slack, she quickly adjusted to the fact that our team worked better on WhatsApp and without hesitation continued the conversation there. There was never a moment where she felt unreachable or difficult to work with. Deliverable timelines were met on a timely basis. In short Oksana is and has always been willing to go above and beyond. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company? While there are many ways in which we could answer this question about Steelkiwi our most standout experience with them happened towards the end of the project, when they should have been planning to wind down and cut down on resources spent on our project. Due to a personal matter that had occurred on our end, our ability to work at full capacity was hindered significantly.Without hesitation the entire team significantly Igor and Oksana ensured we were taken care of, they safeguarded our interests while simultaneously allowing us the space and time to work out our issues. This situation also occurred in the backdrop of significant instability and turmoil in Ukraine where most of the team operate and reside. Incredibly this situation did not for a moment hinder their synchronicity of their team as a unit and their ability to work seamlessly with us as clients. Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently? This is a very pleasant and rare situation in which we can confidently say we have no complaints. In fact we look forward to continuing our relationship with Steelkiwi and recommending them to fellow startups.

**The Review** — Nov 28, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) has worked well with the client and provided them with what they need. The team is collaborative and communicative, leveraging tools like Jira, Slack, and Confluence for project management. Additionally, they excel at taking ownership of projects by being involved in the entire process.
"“They take full ownership of the projects, and they handle them from start to finish.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m an executive at a financial services organization.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelkiwi? We originally needed help with developing our website.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Steelkiwi has developed our website. Still, their work has expanded since, and they’ve also been responsible for developing the software platform for the customer-facing side of my business from scratch. Initially, we went through a strategy identification process, after which I provided them with some documentation for how I wanted the site to function.Among its core features, our site presents our branding, presents information about our company, and handles the collection of loan applications for our customers. Additionally, the site contains a customer portal where users can log in and get account information. This app operates both on Linux and Microsoft. Still, it also has a mobile app component where users can use their iOS and Android mobile devices to access all the functionalities of the desktop version.Currently, Steelkiwi is developing additional capabilities and features on the web-based platform to deal with a variety of different services. These features include fleet management, automatic notifications on mobile devices, payment processing, and more. What is the team composition?I’ve worked directly with the entire team from Steelkiwi. How did you come to work with Steelkiwi? Our CEO found them. What is the status of this engagement? We started working together around April 2020, and the engagement is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? Steelkiwi provides us with what we need and works the way we need them to work. How did Steelkiwi perform from a project management standpoint? We have a periodic project status meeting throughout the week. I also meet regularly with Steelkiwi to introduce new projects and identify priorities for their work moving forward. Then, their team breaks those priorities down into tasks, and we collaborate on the definitions, confirmations of completion, and validations of said tasks. We use Jira and Slack to manage the project and collaborate, as well as Confluence for document management. What did you find most impressive about them?I really like how Steelkiwi functions. They take full ownership of the projects, and they handle them from start to finish. Unlike other organizations that only provide resources for the clients to handle internally, Steelkiwi takes ownership of entire projects and executes them. Are there any areas they could improve? No. Over the last two years, we’ve found areas of improvement. However, we’ve discussed those areas with them, and they’ve addressed them effectively. Whenever something arises, they’re very quick to respond.

**Feedback Summary**: Steelkiwi had delivered the project on time with almost zero hiccups. They have an impressive level of professionalism alongside their commendable communication skills. Most of all, they were thorough with their coding and testing, even with the ability to accommodate new requests.
""The thoroughness with which they code and test was what impressed me most.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CEO of a peer-to-peer ecommerce platform designed for resale and vintage.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Steelkiwi, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a mobile app for fast & efficient buying and selling between users.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We used Clutch to find a highly-rated app development company with a large portfolio and experience in this area. After much research, and many calls with varying agencies, we decided on Steelkiwi. Their level of professionalism was top tier, and the questions they’d ask about the project were surprising in their depth and interest.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

As the designer of the project, I required a lot of back and forth with the development team. I was surprised with how quickly they were able to estimate every feature, as well as how detailed they were with why each feature would require the amount of work that it did. Along the way, several changes were requested and they were quick to respond and change what was asked. Most impressively, they put in so much work to integrate an API from PayPal (our payment provider), which required several weeks of in-depth communication, and an eventual meeting to review the app with PayPal engineers for approval.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

A project manager was assigned to the project, who would quickly respond to any update requests, questions, etc. I also worked with members of the development team to provide needed designs, prototypes, etc. And lastly, I worked with their very thurough testers to deliver a bug-free build.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The app was delivered on-time, and with almost zero hiccups. I’ve worked with one other agency in the past, and the level of professionalism Steelkiwi exhibits is above and beyond.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We used Slack and email to communicate regularly, and the occasional Google Meeting to review progress. Their communication skills were the best I’ve seen.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The thoroughness with which they code and test was what impressed me most. This was alongside their ability to quickly change what they’re doing to accommodate a new request.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I could not have asked for a better development team, and hope to continue working with them on future updates.

**The Review** — Jan 27, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) has developed a solid, efficient, and high-quality product, leading to a game with 4.9 stars and 200 positive reviews on the App Store. The team is helpful, flexible, and accommodating, and they adapt to changes easily. Additionally, they’re very responsive and communicative.
"“GLOBALDEV's (formerly Steelkiwi's) project management is their best asset. They’ve been very helpful, flexible, and agile.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the founder of a mobile gaming company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelkiwi? We needed help to create a software piece from scratch. The game we were making had not been done before, so it was very challenging figuring out the best way to bring it to market while iterating on the go and breaking into a new wave of gaming.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Steelkiwi has been helping us create the software we need. First, we used iOS native technology, but we then shifted over to Flutter, which allowed us to create the product for iOS and Android. This decision was great because we’ve had great cost savings while being more efficient.Still, it was important for us to provide a native experience, and Steelkiwi has been able to accomplish that goal in a great way — we really can’t tell the difference. Overall, they’ve provided a lot of good context and experience to help guide us through the process. What is the team composition? In total, we’ve worked with around 20 people from Steelkiwi, and most of the time, we’ve had anywhere from 5–10 resources working for us at a time. They have a lot of full-stack and Flutter developers, so it is a full-team effort on their side. How did you come to work with Steelkiwi?I found Steelkiwi on Clutch. I did a lot of research, vetted out many companies, and talked to several of them. What made me go to Steelkiwi was that I felt the most comfortable with the promises that they made. They demonstrated great openness and willingness to commit to the project and do what it took to get the job done. When talking with other developers, I often felt that if something went in a different direction, they wouldn’t be flexible or able to adapt, and they would simply claim the changes as outside of scope. As this was not a fixed-scope type of project, I needed someone that could really adapt on the fly; they would basically become my full-time development team. Steelkiwi gave me that confidence.I also looked at some of their previous projects, and they showed me other projects that weren’t included in their portfolio, which also gave me comfort. Finally, I got to talk to their developers directly and ask them a lot of questions. They were also very transparent and open, so I was sure that, even though they hadn’t done this type of project before, they would get us there. How much have you invested with them? We’ve spent approximately $200,000.What is the status of this engagement? We started working together over three years ago, around 2018, and they’re still working on the project. We are one of their long-term clients.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? In terms of the quality and efficiency of the product, we haven’t experienced a lot of issues or bugs, and we’ve had a lot of great feedback from customers and users who play the game. Every time we release an update, the game keeps getting better. We don’t have any metrics on the game's performance, but we have a 4.9/5 rating on the App Store and over 200 positive reviews from users. This success is attributable to the great work that Steelkiwi has done. How did Steelkiwi perform from a project management standpoint?Steelkiwi’s project management is their best asset. They’ve been very helpful, flexible, and agile in changing their model a couple of times to help accommodate what we were trying to do.I’m in constant communication with a number of people from their team over Slack, and even though there is a time difference between us, they’re always very responsive. Even if it is late at night or a weekend, they go above and beyond to keep me updated — that’s the key. What did you find most impressive about them? The rapport and communication that I’ve built with Steelkiwi are impressive. They’ve shown a great ability to adapt their processes to work with us, an American-based customer with a different time zone and a challenging product. Our communication has been huge, and they’ve been able to step in whenever we’ve needed them to do anything. It’s been a pleasure working with them in that capacity. Additionally, Steelkiwi produces a very solid code, so on the technical side, they’re very strong. Are there any areas they could improve? We’ve had some challenges, but Steelkiwi has addressed them throughout the project. Initially, they had some design gaps, but we addressed the issue, and they were able to add a designer to their team. They hired him specifically for my project, and so far, this person has been amazing. Honestly, he’s the best designer I’ve worked with.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Be very literal and descriptive in what you want. The more you can do upfront, the easier the process will be, and the more you can fit your company into their structure, the easier the work will be. However, the most important aspect of achieving success is open communication and transparency.

**Feedback Summary**: GLOBALDEV (formerly Investidea Tech) provided roadmaps to upgrade most of the company’s tech stacks. They effectively followed agile scrum methodology and actively communicated over Slack. Above all, their experience in the latest technologies was crucial to the success of the collaboration.
""They were a very experienced team in handling new technologies.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I'm the co-founder and also the CTO of an education technology company

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Investidea Technology ?Our company was growing in a very rapid user growth and engagement, while we are still using mostly old technologies where it then turns into a bottleneck in our product stability. We decided to hire a set of team who can help us in reviewing existing system and do major revamp.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors? We get to know them from a known contact who also has a very good history in working with them and also successfully put their product into the next level.Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package. The project is about reviewing the whole technology stacks and infrastructure, and also hiring managed set of team to work hands-on on the project. How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions? We work very closely with the project lead, devops, and several full stack developers.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? They come up with roadmaps, fully implement agile methodologies into our development workflow, and did major upgrades into almost all of our legacy services. How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?Very effective, daily scrum calls between team and between project manager. And very active communication on Slack. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company? They were a very experienced team in handling new technologies. Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?Sometimes brainstorming video call meetings cannot be super effective because of some language barrier between our team (Indonesian) and their team. So having a higher level of English proviciency across the team will bring openness into the discussion.

The team is committed to the client’s success, and they’re amicable and responsive partners. They use Jira for project management and work with a scrum methodology, delivering advances every two weeks.
""If we have a significant issue, they address it immediately. Our working relationship is excellent.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m one of the founders and the COO of a hospitality and entertainment cashless payment platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Investidea Technology? They help us with major infrastructure support and some occasional custom development. They’re here to grow our engineering team on an as-needed basis.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Investidea Technology has worked on every aspect of our platform. They deal with everything from major server infrastructure and microservices to frontend and app development and build with our core team on our developer API portal. Effectively, they’re part of our core team. For example, we created a whole new consumer-facing product in 2019.What is the team composition? It’s a different number of people every time. Overall, we’ve worked with two separate teams with four people each. Now, we have roughly three people working alongside us from front to backend — we’ve worked with the product owner, scrum master, and all the way to the CEO or CTO in some circumstances. How did you come to work with Investidea Technology? We met them through contacts that my business partner and I had. Investidea Technology was one of the first companies we outsourced work to, but we’ve looked at other options in India and Eastern Europe as well. They ensure that the project will be done. How did Investidea Technology perform from a project management standpoint? We use Jira as a tracking platform and work on a scrum format. The project scope was outlined beforehand, and we have deliverables every two weeks. Overall, their project management is beyond expectations. What did you find most impressive about them?We have an amicable relationship; it’s not just a vendor relationship. We can message them if we want to, and if we have a significant issue, they address it immediately. Our working relationship is excellent. Are there any areas they could improve? We don’t have anything bad to say about Investidea Technology. Sometimes it’s unfortunate that the people we’d like to have on our team are already allocated to other projects, but that’s the only thing.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Don’t be afraid to ask for their advice. They’re experts in their field, and they’ve worked on different products and use cases. The team has a vast knowledge of different types of platform utilization, so they may have come across a similar solution in the past.

**Feedback Summary**: GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) failed to execute their tasks and deliver the project on time. They were uncooperative and unprepared for sudden changes in their staffing situation. That, combined with their poor communication skills, resulted in the development coming to a halt at a critical time. This review includes the vendor’s response.
""They were unable to deliver the project and meet their obligations.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I am the CTO of a SaaS startup

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Steelkiwi, and what were your goals?SaaS Software development

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors? There apparent proficiency with the right technical stack and budgetDescribe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used. They failed to deliver nad ti was a debacleHow many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?Four. Sales, Business Development, UX UI designer and two developers

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?Startups have runways and it is very important that any technology partner deliver on time. I engaged SteelKiwi two years ago to deliver on a custom software project. This required going through most if not all of the normal SDLC.To begin with, they seemed very organized and said all the right things however when the work begun the experience was contrary. The UXUI design was the first phase where actual deliverables could be realized. They had only one designer on staff and whenever she took Off for vacation, the project came to a complete halt. This happened twice during the first 6 weeks where she took off twice for one week each time. Please note that at this point the deposit had been paid. This was a really bad sign and we decided to bring in the UXUI work in house. In a nut shell Steelkiwi represents itself as big company with capabilities and ability to handle complex projects however this is not the case. There is a limitation in English language when you rate the whole team that they have. Specifically some of the members cannot communicate properly but the sales person can. They have limited staff and inability to adjust when someone goes on vacation. They are too busy to be able to address mistakes and or fix issues in a reasonable manner. The resolution offered by their managing director, Viacheslav P., was inadequate so I declined it and requested a refund at which point he disappeared and as of today Igor, the salesperson contends that Viacheslav P. is too busy. This is unethical to take money then you are too busy to deliver and or refund. Please note that the core issue here is that the designer took off for two weeks at a critical time and the lack of English proficiency within the whole team to facilitate an average understanding and communication of the project so that the velocity is acceptable.Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness. They team meetings with the client then amongst themselves. If the project is complex they have too many meetings and very little deliveredWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company?Nothing. I do not recommend this company at allAre there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?Ability to deliver is minimal. English proficiency within the whole team is average. Inability to handle errors and to be adequately staffed when their team members are on vacation or unavailable

**Company Response**
The vendor responded on October 25, 2021.1. The Discovery phase to create specifications and UX started January 2019 with a timeline of up to 6 weeks. 2. We never even started the actual development. Client was invoiced only for $4,000 total and paid this amount for accepted part of wireframes and technical documentation. 3. We had meetings with the client almost every other day with them lasting for up to 3 hours.  At some point we’ve realised that these meetings don’t produce any value and the project is stuck. Seeing this, we decided to stop the engagement (after more than 100 hours of unbilled work) and transfer all the work done (and accepted and paid) so far as we clearly had severe communication issues. 4. Our UI/UX specialist took a 4-day vacation after the kick-off meeting. The BA was present to aggregate information. The other 2-week vacation was planned from 28th February, right after the Discovery Phase was supposed to end, which the client was warned about. 5. In September 2021 (two and a half years later) the client returned asking us to start the estimation based on the materials he created on his own and kick-off the development process. Citing the previous experience we had, we declined the opportunity to estimate and develop the product. 6. What followed were a series of threats and personal offenses of the involved team members. 7. After we declined to continue work on the client’s platform, the above posted review appeared.

""I have confidence in the way that GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) put together everything.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the co-founder and managing director of MyPitchlist. Our platform connects real estate agents with people that want to sell their property.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelkiwi? We hired Steelkiwi to help us design and build our website platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We had a basic map of our website's functionality, and we went through a development process with Steelkiwi. First, we had a phase of exploring and designing out the functionality of the site.Various aspects of the platform had to be considered, including working with various APIs and making it mobile-friendly. We had to work on the admin panels and on how we interacted with the platform as well. The main development took around 18 months to be completed, considering that we went through various changes. Currently, Steelkiwi provides maintenance support. What is the team composition?Over the period in which we’ve been working together, we’ve had three different account managers that we deal with on a weekly basis. We’ve also worked with a team of 4–5 people, which includes a UI/UX designer and some developers. How did you come to work with Steelkiwi? We had a limited budget, so we were looking for developers in Upwork. We made a list of around 10 development companies from there. My brother mentioned that Ukraine had good developers, so I started doing some research. I found good reviews about Steelkiwi and met with them. They seemed nice, and their price was pretty good. It was on the high end of our budget, but we liked the people that we were dealing with and decided to go with them. How much have you invested with them? We’ve spent around $60,000.What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in November 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The platform is now up and running. We got someone in New Zealand, who knows about coding language, to go through GitHub and look at the code. They came back and were very complimentary about the way it was built. They said that the platform is very well put together. How did Steelkiwi perform from a project management standpoint?Steelkiwi isn’t so good at meeting deadlines. Their communication around when everything is going to be delivered hasn’t been right sometimes, and we’ve missed some deadlines. What did you find most impressive about them?I have confidence in the way that Steelkiwi put together everything. The app was done the right way and well. Are there any areas they could improve? Not being able to meet deadlines is probably the only downside of our engagement. Everything else was pretty straightforward.Do you have any advice for potential customers? The more you can do in the discovery phase, the first phase when they look at your project when working with them, the better. The fixed price is defined by how detailed the discovery phases are. If you add things later on, that’s when you start running into more costs. If you’re able to make sure that everything is perfect in that first phase, the project should be smooth sailing.

"“GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) is professional and organized.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the CEO of a technology platform for loyalty and gift card payment programs for the retail industry.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelkiwi? We hired Steelkiwi to help build out Subway’s European loyalty app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Steelkiwi created the loyalty app for both iOS and Android to replace an existing legacy app. Members who are logged in can see their order and transaction history. They can also see their points balances and promotions. What is the team composition? We had two development teams, one for iOS and one for Android. We also worked with a project manager and a business development manager. In total, we had six people working with us.How did you come to work with Steelkiwi? We wanted a team that worked on the European time zone. We shortlisted a few companies and decided to engage with Steelkiwi based on good chemistry and discussions. What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in December 2019, and our work is ongoing.

**The Review** — Feb 16, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Although the engagement started off strong, GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) ultimately went over budget and delivered the app late. The client was not pleased with their communication or resource allocation. Also, while they demonstrated strong backend development skills, their frontend development was lacking.
"“I’d recommend GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) to someone that already has an internal team and just needs more support.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there. We’re a fintech startup based in the UAE. We’re focused on an Eastern social savings concept. The product we aim to create will provide digital savings groups and peer-to-peer money transfer functionalities. I’m a co-founder of the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelkiwi? We used them as our main provider for the development of the mobile app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We created a scope detailing what we wanted the app to look like and what features we needed to add. They broke down our scope into requirements during a one-week scoping exercise. We didn’t see the point of that; we thought that most of it was already done.Steelkiwi gave us an analysis of what technologies they recommended using on the front- and backends. They specialize in Flutter, and they convinced us to use that on the frontend, along with Django Python on the backend, AWS servers, and Twilio for SMS OTP (one time password) or mobile verification. What is the team composition?According to what we understood, the project would have two backend engineers, two frontend engineers, one UI/UX designer, one QA tester, and a DevOps engineer. We were introduced to the team members. They were changed mid-project, something we weren’t happy with. How did you come to work with Steelkiwi? We saw their reviews on Clutch. The person in charge of their sales put in a lot of time and energy before we even signed with them, which we found quite impressive. That’s what led us to actually sign with them. How much have you invested with them? The project went above budget from $50,000 to $55,000.What is the status of this engagement? We signed the contract in April 2020. They needed a couple of weeks to assemble the team, after which we started the scoping exercise. The project was supposed to end in late-August, but we ended in late-November 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We needed to make sure that the app would work, and we went through a lot of challenges. The app relied on an integration with an open banking API from a third-party in the Middle East, and Steelkiwi had lots of trouble integrating it. There were a lot of issues in terms of allocating the correct resources to help with that integration. That was our biggest qualm with them.In terms of the proficiency of the tech team, the backend code was well-structured, according to our CTO. It was clearly done by an experienced backend developer. The frontend developer was unfortunately a bit junior, and we had to restructure the whole frontend code after we stopped using Steelkiwi. How did Steelkiwi perform from a project management standpoint? Our project manager was a nice guy, and we really enjoyed working with him, but the communication wasn’t up to our standards. We didn’t know what was happening, and we had to nag them a lot to get information. There were a lot of missed deadlines, and the communication and project management could’ve been better. One of the reasons we initially chose them is that they worked in an agile methodology, whereby we’d have sprints and target results for each sprint. According to what we experienced, there was only one sprint, and things became very blurry after that. We didn’t know which sprint we were on and what the next deliverable was. What did you find most impressive about them? The start of our engagement with them was the most impressive thing, in comparison to other tech vendors. Steelkiwi put in quite a lot of effort at the start, especially their sales team. We felt that they were going to be dedicated and passionate about the project, and they were flexible in working with our budget. However, things changed after a few months. Are there any areas they could improve?I knew that they had really good developers, but I was disappointed to hear that the frontend code wasn’t structured properly or as well as the backend code was. I can’t deny that Steelkiwi’s team worked very hard, though.Another issue was resource allocation. After a few months, when things were getting very slow, we realized that we only had one frontend and one backend developer. When we started, we had a whole team. There was clearly something wrong with the resource allocation. We realized that they’d shifted some of our developers to other projects, which caused us wasted time and expenditure. They kept delaying, from September to late-November. That cost us a lot financially.Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs? It depends on the client. For a large company with a large budget that already has an app or website running and needs to add on to those, I’d definitely recommend them. I’d recommend Steelkiwi to someone that already has an internal team and just needs more support. If the client is a startup and fully reliant on them, I wouldn’t suggest going ahead with Steelkiwi unless they have an appropriate budget. In our case, $55,000 was not cheap at all, and what we got for it wasn’t good value for money, especially in the later stages.

**BACKGROUND**

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelkiwi? We needed to build our product. It had a lot of data that needed to be translated into many languages, so it was important that our database was well organized.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Steelkiwi built the backend of our mobile and web app. Their team was also involved in frontend development. They used JavaScript and AWS for the backend, which their team built to enable us to easily add data to it. After we launched the app, we continued working together on additional features.  What is the team composition?I worked with one backend developer, one project manager, and one frontend developer. How did you come to work with Steelkiwi? My CEO and manager hired Steelkiwi. How much have you invested with them?We hired them full-time for a year and probably spent $5,000 a month. What is the status of this engagement? The project began in the summer of 2019, and we launched the mobile app in March 2020. We continued working together until September 2020 to add features.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? Although the frontend wasn’t good, the backend was great. Steelkiwi assigned a good backend developer to our project. We were able to translate the database quickly because the architecture was great. How did Steelkiwi perform from a project management standpoint?I was the project manager, and Steekiwi was responsive. Their team acted like our employees, so it was easy to work with them. What did you find most impressive about them?Their backend development was great because their backend developer was skillful. Steelkiwi developed great software. Are there any areas they could improve? They could improve their project management skills.Do you have any advice for potential customers?I would recommend them if you already have a project manager and clear end goals.

""Prepare for a good journey with Steelkiwi.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the CTO of a COVID-19 platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelkiwi? We needed a trustworthy partner to develop our web platform for a good price.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Steelkiwi developed our web platform. It works natively on all browsers. There’s an admin page as well as a control panel for the clients. We or the client are able to create queues, and then QR codes for these queues, then put in the code in public places where people can queue virtually rather than standing in line physically. There’s also an interface for whoever is managing the queue. Rather than standing up and ensuring people are separate from each other, all they need to do is press a button on the page from the interface to call the next patient. The frontend was AJAX. The backend is hosted with AWS and we use Django. What is the team composition? There were 6-8 people including a project manager, backend, graphics, and QA.How did you come to work with Steelkiwi? We inquired about different companies I found on Google and Clutch. They came up as the best value for money for the type of solution we wanted. How much have you invested with them?We spent between $30,000-$50,000.What is the status of this engagement? The project took place from October 2019-March 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We like their approach. Steelkiwi was flexible and they accommodated our timing. The account manager was really amazing, engaging, and understood our requirements. He was able to pull together the right team and start the project fairly quickly. They continued the journey at a good pace and to our satisfaction. How did Steelkiwi perform from a project management standpoint? We had some issues with our initial project manager and had to change. The next project manager was great. The project management was 4 out of 5.What did you find most impressive about them? They’re always available. They listen and they respond fairly quickly. We like their engagement style. Are there any areas they could improve? No, we’re satisfied. We can trust them. They deliver whatever it is we need.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Prepare for a good journey with Steelkiwi. Ask for Igor (Account Manager).

""The value for money proposition with Steelwiki is one of the best in the market.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m a co-founder and operations for a startup. We’re creating a home restaurant platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelkiwi? We needed help building our platform. We wanted a single platform with two different interfaces depending on the user’s profile.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Steelkiwi’s helping us build and launch iOS, Android, and web apps. It has to be a two-way application, meaning it’s not only for customers but also home restaurant owners. There was a discovery stage that took us about three weeks. As a result, they delivered the scope of work and then moved into the wireframing stage. They helped us with wireframing and designing the user journeys and UI. Their team then moved onto building the whole backend, which they’ll ultimately transfer to us. They built the backend architecture and are now working on frontend development.  What is the team composition? We’ve worked with six people from Steelkiwi including a project manager. How did you come to work with Steelkiwi? We used Clutch to find Steelkiwi. When we started the project, I lived in Europe and wasn’t sure about the quality of different development companies. I needed a point of reference and Clutch helped with that. How much have you invested with them? We’ve spent between $150,000–$200,000 on their services. What is the status of this engagement? We’ve worked together since about June 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? It’s easy to work with Steelkiwi. It’s fairly normal for there to be tension at the beginning of projects. However, it’s been smooth with them. They’re great at managing stakeholders, clients, and expectations. In terms of the deliverables, so far so good. How did Steelkiwi perform from a project management standpoint? We’re working with Jira and Confluence. There are daily scrum meetings conducted remotely too. Their team follows an Agile methodology, which makes them flexible. Even when we change the scope, the conversations are easy. What did you find most impressive about them?Steelkiwi listens to us. When we meet with them, they essentially capture everything we tell them. Their team tries to comprehend and incorporate our ideas into either the scope or the sprint. They’re attentive. The value for money proposition with Steelwiki is one of the best in the market. Are there any areas they could improve?I’m based in Quebec, which is a francophone province. Part of our team speaks French, so it would be great if they had a French-speaking team member.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Steelkiwi is budget sensitive but also concerned about value. That’s important for startups.

**Feedback Summary**: Globaldev (formerly X1 Group) was able to provide high-quality staffing solution for the clients. The team was agile in finding and vetting candidates. They demonstrate a personable and straightforward approach to identifying solutions and solving issues.
""We got several profiles in just a few weeks, and we made hires very quickly.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the CTO of a company that is developing an advertising technology platform specifically for the publisher side. I’m in charge of defining and overseeing the overall product and software development.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with X1 Group? We were looking to hire a handful of new developers for our back- and frontend system, but we were having difficulties finding people locally in Germany. We reached out to X1 Group to find some developers in Ukraine.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?X1 Group’s job was HR talent acquisition. They screen candidates before we interviewed them, and they take care of all the necessary paperwork to hire them. They provide an office where the developers can work from, along with infrastructure like office equipment, computers, coffee machines, and so on. The team also organizes events within the remote office, and they take all the necessary steps to pay the developers. What is the team composition?I work closely with Valeriy (Founder and CEO) and with 3–4 people from their HR department. How did you come to work with X1 Group? We researched companies in Eastern Europe that could help us find developers and host them. X1 Group was a recommendation from someone in a CTO forum. We chose them because of their pricing and the overall package. They also have a good office with good equipment for the developers. We’re not a huge company, so we wanted to have a good and friendly working relationship with a developer team. X1 Group was a good fit for that. How much have you invested with them?Including the developers’ salaries, the cost is around €350,000 (approximately $415,000 USD).What is the status of this engagement? We started working with X1 Group in January 2019. The collaboration remains ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We initially hired X1 Group to help us recruit new developers, so their success here was the key measurement for us. We got several profiles in just a few weeks, and we made hires very quickly. I’d say that we hired one in three candidates out of a total of fifteen that we looked at so far. That was our primary challenge, and X1 Group helped us solve it. In the end, we had five qualified developers on board. How did X1 Group perform from a project management standpoint? We didn’t ask for project management services, but simply for staffing services. X1 Group is responsible for finding candidates and maintaining the office and necessary regulations. The developers are included in our project management process. We’ve used email, phone calls, and Skype calls for communication, and we’ve also met in-person in Berlin and Kharkiv. What did you find most impressive about them? It’s a very personal collaboration. X1 Group isn’t a huge company where we have to talk to two sales executives before getting to the technicalities. It’s pretty much as straightforward as meeting with their founder and telling him what our problems are, and then he’ll tell us how he can help. Are there any areas they could improve?I don’t have much to complain about. Whenever we’ve had an issue, I could address it easily. We’re not a huge company ourselves, so we don’t have a need for various pools of specific processes.Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs? It’s fine if the client knows what they want, but if there’s brainstorming required, X1 Group has experience running different types of projects. I’d openly address ideal scenarios, and if the client doesn’t have those, they should just ask X1 Group what they think the best approach is. This is something to do in general.

Fixed communication channels ensured a streamlined and transparent collaboration. The team's attention to detail and commitment to solutions truly distinguish them.
""The thing that impressed us the most is the level of their involvement in the project.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.I'm a creative director / project manager at Uhsome LLC. The company provides various IT services with production offices in USA and Europe.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Steelkiwi? We had a project with the original idea that was never implemented before, and we needed a solid and experienced team to develop it into a mobile app. It was a math puzzle game similar to Scrabble. What were your goals for this project? We started with simply creating a playable board, and moved on to bots, complex play availability calculations, scoreboards, rewards system, ... The main goal was to grow user base to a point where we can start monetizing on it.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor? We've searched online for app development businesses. Shortlisted three, and had a few online meetings with each of them. Steel Kiwi turned out to be a perfect match.Describe the project in detail. We handed over the design files and the initial scope of work. Within a few days we had a meeting where Steel Kiwi provided their always useful input. After we specified all the details, they've started the development process with reports coming in every week and meetings whenever needed. After about two months we had the initial package which worked surprisingly well. The development included backend, iOS app, and Android app. What was the team composition?Steel Kiwi team included project manager, 5 developers, and 2 QA managers at a later stage.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? The app is constantly growing and retention level gets higher with each new release. Our expectations were met and so far everything is aligned to our business plan. There were minor bugs in every release, but those were mostly corrected within 24 hours after filing a report. How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs? From the start, we've agreed on fixed communication channels which meant that no information gets lost and we have clear schedules and deadlines. Every feedback was discussed and implemented in shortest possible time. Even though the team we were working with was based in Ukraine, there were no language barriers as their English is very good. What did you find most impressive about this company? The thing that impressed us the most is the level of their involvement in the project and how they wanted to understand every little detail. That lead to them proposing solutions to some of the problems that definitely helped lift the app to where it is now.Are there any areas for improvement? No

The website’s live, so we’re now just working on site improvements. What is the team composition? We worked with about three people including a project manager. How did you come to work with Steelkiwi? We’ve spent roughly $100,000 on their services. How much have you invested with them?I found Steelkiwi through Clutch. Now, we’ve hired them for further work.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We’re quite happy with their work. We’ve only just gone live, so we don’t have metrics yet. Everybody likes the website at the moment but it's still in its early days. We’re certainly happy with the design and the technology at the moment. How did Steelkiwi perform from a project management standpoint? We communicated via Slack and worked on the designs with InVision. We can contact them anytime. Initially, project management was challenging. When the issues got more complex, their CEO got involved, so it became really good. We always reach an agreement and manage to deliver the product. What did you find most impressive about them?Their flexibility sets them apart from other service providers. We’re quite demanding and the fact that they’re responsive to our demands is good. They’re approachable, which gives us confidence. Are there any areas they could improve? No, we didn’t have a problem.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Make sure that your requirements are clear to prevent misunderstanding with any party.

**Feedback Summary**: GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) supplied excellent work on all fronts. Their team was able to significantly reduce the number of bug reports while also improving the code. The project manager was very helpful and experienced. They performed very well and accommodated all requests.
""I would say they performed very well.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I am the CTO of Hoopit. We deliver our platform as a service to sports organizations. We have two mobile apps. That includes one app for clients and a dashboard. We offer member management, money management, payments, and calendars.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Steelwiki? We wanted to expand our current development team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We had some in-house developers and developers in a different country. The company needed to boost the speed of development. We also wanted to hire someone with more experience to reduce our technical debt. Lastly, we needed to improve the quality as well as the ease of maintenance. We initially started with having one developer from Steelwiki for each part of our stack. They worked with both Android and iOS native. We had another developer doing Angular work and a backend developer who worked with Python and Django. What is the team composition?Initially, we had three developers, a QA person, and a project manager. Later on, we added another developer and then finally a designer. How did you come to work with Steelwiki?I searched on Clutch and I believe they had the best skills match to our current tech stack. They specifically mentioned Django, Python, and Angular. How much have you invested in them?We have spent between $50,000–$200,000.What is the status of this engagement? We began working with them in May 2019. Currently, things are suspended due to current circumstances, but we plan to continue with them once things settle down.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Right off the bat, the iOS developer provided great work on the iOS platform, which was key because it had the most issues. We have halved the number of bug reports coming from users over first few months. In terms of the overall system, we’ve reduced complexity and the number of bugs. We were able to simplify quite a bit of the code, especially in the backend. They basically became the platform leads on each of their platforms, relieving our developers and myself from managing the release schedules. Their team basically handled all the releases and incoming bug support for all the platforms. How did Steelwiki perform from a project management standpoint?I would say they performed very well. Each of the developers has really good communication skills. They are able to communicate directly with all of the other teams using Slack which we had some issues with before. A lot of the developers we hire externally just contact a few specific people, but Steelwiki is able to contact whomever they needed to talk to which was great. They were able to accommodate and use our Jira platform so that we could track the progress. What did you find most impressive about them? The project manager was really helpful. We didn’t expect to have one, but he came with the rest of the team. He was really experienced and facilitated and organized meetings whenever we needed them. They have shown they care for the product and voluntarily worked overtime whenever there have been any issues that need resolving. They also stepped up and took the lead when they were assigned to be the platform leads. Are there any areas they could improve? No, not that I can think of. I am extremely satisfied with everything they have done.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Give them responsibility or a sense of ownership. They are definitely able to show care and make decisions on their own.

If there was something that needed to be explained in more detail, we had a call through Google Meet. We used Jira for project management. What did you find most impressive about them? The thing we liked best about them was that they were very responsive. They got back to us in a short period of time, and the team was very cooperative. If we asked them to work on a module a bit longer, they were willing to do it. That helped us a lot, and it showed their interest in our business. Are there any areas they could improve?I’m also an IT guy, and I can say that Steelkiwi is very good in terms of company structure. #### Mobile App Dev for Maritime Startup

**The Review** — Nov 21, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: While it’s too early in the engagement to provide hard results, GLOBALDEV (Formerly IDAP) has secured a long-term partnership through their competence and diligence. Although they could offer more thorough testing and communication during an off-duty season, they’ve proved to be a capable partner who can deliver.
""We've been impressed by their speed and problem-solving skills.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m one of the founders of a maritime startup. My role is to oversee the creation of an app that could manage the private booking of services.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with IDAP?We provide a distinctive service where users have different options to finance their experience. We wanted to develop the MVP of a seamless booking app that would reflect that unique business model.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We approached IDAP with a prototype of the app and explained our concept to them. They worked to create an API-based backend solution that could deliver app content and to integrate different payment options.Focusing on security requirements, their team worked on an app with an API-based backend. We’re trying to develop an app that’s scalable, but also secure. In our last testing period, they ironed out a few kinks. What is the team composition? Our first point of contact was Alex (CEO, IDAP). After our relationship was established, he introduced me to Anton (COO, IDAP), who has managed the finer details of the project. We were then assigned a project manager, Kirill (Project Manager). He’s our primary contact who oversees the development team, which is led by Sergei (QA Engineer). The team consists of 10–15 developers, and around two designers who aid with UI/UX components. Maryna (Financial Manager) has also discussed financial questions, invoices, and payments with us.How did you come to work with IDAP?We found IDAP through Clutch. I spent around a month speaking to various potential agencies and found IDAP to be the best fit. What was the month and year that you began working with IDAP? When was the project completed? App development began in February 2019 and wrapped up in August, but the engagement is still ongoing, as they’ve continued to troubleshoot. We’ve braked our development efforts because we’re shifting our focus to corporate partnerships and the app’s legal framework. What is the status of this engagement? We plan to have a long-term relationship with IDAP. We’re currently in conversations with them about app updates. There are also projected changes necessitated by legal requirements. We hope to continue working with them to improve the product’s UI/UX.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The app isn’t released yet, so I don’t have any hard metrics just yet. The project has looked promising so far, and we’re looking forward to continuing our engagement with them. Most recently, they surprised me with a version demonstration. After seeing it, I really felt that they understood our vision for the product. They’ve been able to empathize with our target audience and how they’d react to a UI update. How did IDAP perform from a project management standpoint? How responsive were they? They’ve been extremely responsive and well-managed, especially during the active stages of design and development. They’re always available and quick to react to issues. They’re also meticulous in assigning the right resources.Since we’ve decelerated our development efforts, their engagement has naturally dwindled. They have to re-allocate their resources to active projects. What did you find most impressive about them? We’ve been impressed by their speed and problem-solving skills. They’re always willing to listen to our needs and have been able to come up with good workarounds and solutions. Are there any areas they could improve? One pain point with them is that the testing phase was lacking. If testing had been more thorough, we could’ve avoided a number of issues. On another note, as security is paramount for our app and our target users, I’d appreciate if we could ensure the app’s security—we have some doubts about it, at this point. We’d love it if they offered in-house penetration testing. As our app’s contract cycle has ended, they’ve been busy with other active projects. I’d also appreciate if I could get the required information from them without having to constantly follow up.Do you have any advice for potential customers? If you need a cost-effective and reliable MVP development partner, IDAP is great for you. They’re constantly available and will work around the clock to ensure your satisfaction. They’re a great long-term outsourcing partner.

**Feedback Summary**: The team showed consistent dedication to the project, despite its complexity. They were devoted to problem-solving and professionalism, frequently communicating with the client using project management tools like Zeplin. Accommodating, they adapted to changes and roadblocks nimbly.
""Everyone on the team was professional and very responsible.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m a private investor for a product IDAP created. It was one of our collaborative startup projects. We’re beginning to think about a new product.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with IDAP?We started to develop an ERP with one company and after creating the technical requests. That didn't end up working out. We needed somebody reliable who could take the project and completely finish it.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? They were working on a new and quite difficult CRM product. It was supposed to build a hierarchy and handle sampling data. It was especially difficult because it was supposed to function with a different model. Wanting it to be easy to use, we started to develop the project.Early on, they decided it would be smarter to use a different approach. We ended up using an independent model system, and they quickly understood that and remade the project. What is the team composition? We had 4–20 people depending on the need. How did you come to work with IDAP?Our previous developer recommended that IDAP continue the project. How much have you invested with them?We spent about $500,000.What is the status of this engagement? We started working together from December 2017–June 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? They had an amazing project leader who was engaged in our business practices. He offered great logistics consulting. Even though our UX designer left the company mid-project, we didn't feel a heavy transition. When we finished the project and implemented it, we discovered some issues. That was to be expected for the difficulty of the project. From their side, they supported us in all possible ways. When conflicts appeared, IDAP was problem-solving. They were trying to help us out of it instead of leaving us to deal with it alone. How did IDAP perform from a project management standpoint? We had team meetings once or twice each week. Since we live in the same city, it was easy to meet in-person. Otherwise, we had Skype meetings or worked through a project management system. For design and mockups, they used Zeplin. That was helpful to me.What did you find most impressive about them?Everyone on the team was professional and very responsible. They were emotionally involved in the project. When the project deadline suddenly jumped 4 months earlier, they gave us total support. For part of the project, we needed their 24/7 support to handle an election process with the system. They delivered. We had no technical problems at all. They fixed bugs as they came up. That level of support was unmatched. Are there any areas they could improve? They work with professional developers and communicate well. Their team won't let you down in those areas. Do you have any advice for potential customers? If you’re not an IT professional and you work with contractors like IDAP, make sure you have always a project timeline laid out. Having everything in written form will allow you to go back and correct things in a more organized fashion.

We started with the design and iteration, followed by the development, SteelKiwi selected the best tech stack for YoTutors (Python, Django and React). Some core features like users' dashboards, ability to create online courses, ratings/reviews system and ability to process bookings according to the timezone. Integration with PayPal payment solution was another feature. They were deeply involved in all the details even after the first release, they took care of managing the AWS, Google calendar API and Paypal API settings. What is the team composition?I worked with Nazar (Project Manager, SteelKiwi), Kate (Backend Developer, SteelKiwi), Vladimir (Backend Developer, Steel Kiwi), Vitaly (Frontend Developer, SteelKiwi), Kristina (Designer, SteelKiwi), and Sergey (QA Specialist, SteelKiwi). How did you come to work with SteelKiwi?I examined their reviews on Clutch, and remember seeing their ads on social media. After reviewing their website, I contacted them, had a meeting, and hired them. How much have you invested with them? The total cost of their work was $45,000 to deliver the first release, but there are several adjustments and features that need to be addressed. What is the status of this engagement? We started working with SteelKiwi in July 2018, and the project was finished in July 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The design was simple and user-friendly. SteelKiwi has advised me on the market and future implementations. Along with development, they’ve helped define process details, such as whether the platform should be multi-currency and where we should launch first. Their ideas impacted the project, and how we'll operate after launch. How did SteelKiwi perform from a project management standpoint? They delivered the design on the promised date, but the development took longer than we expected. This was because they had too many projects for the frontend developers to properly manage. Even so, they finished all the tasks on the backend very efficiently. We constantly found details that hadn’t been included in the estimate, a lot of challanges regarding the payment systems and timezone. All was successfully implemented.  We used a Slack channel to communicate. I’m a software engineer myself, so I was very involved with the project on a daily basis. We logged tasks and bugs using Jira.I’m in Asia and they’re in Ukraine. The time difference made workflows difficult, but I got used to their working schedule. We had meetings in the morning, where I gave them feedback on their progress, and we’d continue to communicate on Jira throughout the day. The communication was very fast, and I appreciated it.What did you find most impressive about them?Nazar was amazing, and for me, irreplaceable—he was aware of everything and well-planned. Also, I would like to take the opportunity and thank Kate, Vladimir, Vitaliy, and Kristina for their hard work and efforts to deliver YoTutors. They were shouldering responsibility when the situation called for. I remember when I had a significant problem with the website, they solved it after working hours, while they were at home.Overall, they were very organized and had good project managers and backend developers. I’m very satisfied to work with this team and I appreciate how they were consistently so committed. Are there any areas they could improve? The only area where I wasn’t fully satisfied was the frontend. I can understand that, given that someone left part of the way through development.Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?I would recommend SteelKiwi to anyone. They cared a lot about me, and they wanted me to be happy. The team was friendly, patient with my requests and advised me on several issues, I appreciate everything they have done to make a successful output.

It shows they’re thinking about the implications of feature requests and proposed changes. Are there any areas for improvement? We’ve brought up the idea of consolidating some systems, and I think they’ll get there. These are small pipe dreams, rather than large areas for improvement.

**The Review** — Jun 18, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Since its launch, site traffic has skyrocketed to nearly 120,000 unique visitors per month. GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) has remained onboard to ensure uptime and improved the code to accommodate the user volume. While there were minor issues with a previous project manager, they’ve worked to resolve them quickly.
"“They’re able to do almost everything we ask of them, and they provide good value for our money.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the co-founder of Ofog.com.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with SteelKiwi? We wanted to deliver a professional sports website in Saudi Arabia that could match international standards.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Steel Kiwi has developed our sports news aggregator platform on WordPress, handling everything from the graphic design to the database and architecture. In addition to blogging/publishing capabilities, users have access to our subscription system, which allows them to register on our site and post comments. The team has also installed and configured all of our plug-ins (e.g., SportsPress) to set up the core site functionalities. There’s a competitive module where users can predict future match results and earn points. What is the team composition? For this project, we had one project manager, 2–3 developers, graphic designers, and an account manager. How did you come to work with SteelKiwi? We researched about 100 companies online and put out an RFP with our requirements. There were a number of companies that we liked, but we ultimately chose SteelKiwi because they talked about the technical aspects well. On top of that, they were flexible in agreeing to our timescales, and there’s only an hour difference between our time zones. How much have you invested with them? We’ve spent about $35,000 so far. SteelKiwi has the most competitive costs out of all the vendors we’ve seen. Their price point is on the lower side, but they offer the best value. What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in July 2016 and completed the site in February 2017. Currently, we’re still working with them to perform further development and updates as well as other projects.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? When we launched the site, we started with no marketing at all. We had to build ourselves up by pushing out quality content and publicizing it through social media. Since then, traffic has increased substantially. Our latest report shows that we’ve achieved 120,000 unique visitors per month.SteelKiwi has supported us throughout this time with site updates and maintenance. About 2–3 months after going live, we had a resource utilization issue on the server and needed them to make some adjustments. Their team optimized the code within two weeks, which made the site quicker and lighter on our server. Now, we have almost zero downtime—there are only minor instances whenever we see a large jump in user volume. How did SteelKiwi perform from a project management standpoint?During development, I wasn’t totally happy with the project manager. They were mostly responsive. Toward the last quarter of the project, there were times when they’d take 1–2 days to address my questions. In contrast, Igor (New Business Development Manager, SteelKiwi) has been so helpful. He took over as the account manager for our other initiatives and made sure that we didn’t have any issues with our project managers moving forward. He’s a great communicator and is always available when we need him. What did you find most impressive about them?I’m impressed with SteelKiwi’s capabilities. They’re able to do almost everything we ask of them, and they provide good value for our money. We can trust them because they know what they’re doing. Are there any areas they could improve? They could look into having more qualified/communicative project managers across the board so that we don’t have to specifically ask for a different resource.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Make sure that you have a great team assigned to your project. Work with the account manager to ensure that you have the best resources available on your project.

Founder, Pikurate
- Industry: Arts, entertainment & music

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Jun 10, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: The project is almost complete and features a strong tech stack. GLOBALDEV (formerly Steelkiwi) has adapted well to all requirement changes, keeping the schedule and costs within the established estimates. Their transparency and excellent documentation habits compliment their project management skills well.
"“Their team members are very creative and proactive. Even if you know what you want to do, ask for their opinion.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the founder of Pikurate, a social collaboration platform. We offer an invaluable knowledge-sharing experience, allowing users to gain insights from domain experts for various research topics.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with SteelKiwi? We needed someone to develop our social collaboration platform because we didn’t have an internal development team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?SteelKiwi developed my social collaboration platform, consulting us to select the best tech stack for our needs (Python, Django, PostgreSQL, React, Next.js, Node.js, and MobX.js).Our product is a single platform that allows users to connect and interact with people to crowdsource knowledge. It’s really an information curation platform. Users who are interested in specific research topics can use our site to communicate with similarly-minded people. We offer three main tools: the first is a unique bookmarking tool to organize valuable URL links; the second is a convenient research collaboration tool for individuals to share their referenced links; the third is a crowd-curated and vetted collection of information. These benefits impart a more effective way of conducting online research. Whereas before, users would simply copy and paste single links here and there, our platform allows users to find a set of community-reviewed resources and collaborate with others, all organized by relevant research topics. In the future, we hope users will use the platform to answer more complicated questions. What is the team composition? There are eight people, including a project manager. How did you come to work with SteelKiwi?I researched online for good development shops and found SteelKiwi on Clutch. Out of the 40 companies I considered, I narrowed down my list to 5–6 candidates and interviewed each. My key criteria were price, quality, the right tech stack, and the right methodology. The estimated project period also had to be a good fit for my situation, and their credibility and reviews had to be great. SteelKiwi was a good option to meet my needs. How much have you invested with them?I’ve invested $50,000 so far. What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in December 2018, and the work is ongoing. We’re almost done with the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? So far, their project costs have fit my budget, and their time estimates are very reasonable and shorter than their competitors. Adding on to that, when I asked my CTO for his thoughts, he said their proposed tech stack was decent. How did SteelKiwi perform from a project management standpoint? They’ve performed very well. The team documents everything they create, so whenever I have a question, I can refer to their notes. This has been helpful because I’ve sometimes had to change a previous request that was recorded in their doc. For example, in the beginning, we agreed to do two-week sprints, but I later realized that we had to develop faster. They understood the situation and easily switched gears to meet my needs. I appreciate their flexibility and willingness to adjust to my situation. In terms of communication, we coordinate through Skype, Trello, Slack, Jira, Confluence, and Google Doc.What did you find most impressive about them? This is a basic point, but I like how everything is very organized and well-planned—not all companies will do that. Their project manager gives me information well in advance. She lets me know what to expect for this week and the next and even a month later, so it’s easy for me to anticipate any potential changes. If a team member has a vacation coming up, she also gives me plenty of notice so that I can adjust. Are there any areas they could improve?Every development project has the same problem which is that time and budget estimates don’t always match up with the actual cost/schedule. This isn’t necessarily the vendor’s fault because startups don’t always know what they want to do and will change their requirements during development. SteelKiwi tries to stick closely to their estimates, but it would be good if they could be even more accurate.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Their team members are very creative and proactive. Even if you know what you want to do, ask for their opinion because sometimes their advice or insight is better. Use them not only to do something, but also to possibly find a better solution.

As COVID-19 restrictions accelerated the shift toward remote venue inspections, the need for accurate, high-resolution 3D environments grew rapidly.
Globaldev sourced and onboarded 3D modeling experts capable of producing detailed interior models, furniture arrangements, and scalable spatial layouts for real-time editing and collaborative sessions. Over the partnership, Globaldev added more than a dozen specialists and a lead modeler, supporting Prismm’s transition into a comprehensive cloud-based system for virtual touring, event design, and sales enablement. Today, we continue to extend their capacity with on-demand modeling talent and collaborative development support.

### Dedicated team for ePermitTest
ePermitTest, an eLearning platform with ~850K monthly visits, partnered with Globaldev to modernize its UI/UX and improve the overall learning experience for teenagers preparing for their U.S. driver’s permit exam. With coverage across all 50 states, the platform needed stronger engagement, clearer navigation, and a mobile-friendly design.
Globaldev enhanced the interface with a vibrant visual style, improved test logic, and enriched learning materials. We introduced new vehicle-specific tests, automatic progress saving, rating functionality, high-score tables, and a Spanish-language version to better serve 50M+ Spanish speakers in the U.S.
A mobile version was also developed to increase accessibility. With backend, frontend, UI/UX, QA, and project management support, Globaldev helped ePermitTest attract a wider audience and boost time-on-platform metrics.

### Team extension for Lookout
Lookout, a global leader in mobile cybersecurity, partnered with Globaldev to elevate its Lookout for Work application—a tool used by major banks, healthcare providers, and Fortune 500 companies. As Lookout protects millions of devices from phishing, credential theft, and harmful apps, the team needed reliable Android expertise to keep pace with a rapidly changing threat landscape.
Globaldev worked hand-in-hand with Lookout’s product manager to refine features, improve user stories, and deliver updates that enhanced both security and usability. A major initiative focused on reducing battery drain, requiring deep performance optimization. Using Kotlin, Jetpack, Room, Retrofit, and other modern Android tools, Globaldev strengthened stability, resource efficiency, and the overall user experience.

### Team extension for Florence Healthcare
Florence Healthcare, a leading global site enablement platform used by more than 12,000 research sites, partnered with Globaldev to accelerate development of its eHub application. Florence supports 6.5M+ monthly research workflows, helping sponsors, CROs, and research teams manage clinical trial operations, digital documents, and remote site collaboration.
When Globaldev joined the project, the critical backend foundation for eHub—including its API, database, and AWS serverless components—had yet to be built. Our team developed these core services from scratch, providing Florence with a robust infrastructure capable of supporting complex business logic and a scalable frontend interface. This enabled Florence to advance its platform capabilities and streamline site operations across its global network.

### Dedicated team for Energy Outreach Colorado
Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC), a nonprofit serving 43,000+ households annually, partnered with Globaldev to replace its paper-based, high-cost processes with a modern, scalable web platform. EOC had long relied on manual applications and an expensive off-the-shelf system that couldn’t keep up with rising demand for CARE and Energy Assistance programs.
Globaldev built a custom, mobile-first, bilingual (EN/ES) platform where applicants can register, upload documents, and track status online. Moderators now review cases, verify income, and communicate with applicants through a unified dashboard, while administrators manage agencies, budgets, and eligibility rules in real time. Automated checks prevent duplicates, improve accuracy, and reduce processing time.
Designed to grow with EOC, the system lets staff create new programs, add custom fields, and configure workflows—all without outside vendors.
