Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of R&D for an aviation company. We provide solutions and systems for the flight inspection industry. We build advanced systems that make the measurements and controls, in order to ensure all aircraft navigate and land safely.

What challenge were you trying to address with Geek Solution?

We needed a partner to help us revamp our solutions and modernize our architectural approach.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Geek Solution helps us with our frontend and middleware development. They also assist with our design efforts, ensuring a good look and feel for our solutions. The team is also in charge of maintaining the usability and structure of our solutions to maintain good user interaction. On top of that, they’ve guided us with some of the design and architecture of the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).

What is the team composition?

We work with an assigned project manager, four developers, and from time to time, designers.

How did you come to work with Geek Solution?

We found Geek Solution through our network. We chose them because they had a flexible model, were easy to engage with, and the risks of engagement with them were extremely low. They also had some .NET WPF technology skills we found interesting.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $300,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around October 2020, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Geek Solution quickly understood what we needed and began to produce visible results. We regularly test and review their work, and we merge it into our main branch of code to ensure the quality is on par with our needs. The most prominent feedback I get from the internal team is that they work quickly and efficiently. They do what is expected of them, and they ask questions when needed. Above all, we don’t have to chase them down to make sure their work is getting done.

How did Geek Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re proactive and communicative, keeping us apprised of any questions they have for clarity or if they experience any stops on their side. On top of that, Geeks Solution ensures that we keep moving forward. We have status meetings three times per week to ensure they have enough information on their current tasks and to hand over any new tasks we have for them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team’s skillset and efficiency are excellent. They’ve been direct in asking the level of competence we required upfront. As a result, they’ve been able to provide the right resources we’ve needed — a mix of senior and junior members. Overall, we appreciate that they can scale the team up or down depending on our needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I’d change with their work.

Set clear expectations. Be open and clear about what you know and what you don’t, so Geek Solution can fill those gaps.
