Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m an inside sales manager at BossaBox. We’re a full-solution platform that connects clients with professional resources who specialize in developing digital products. In addition to our internal development team of 10, our network of professionals spans more than 3,000 resources across Brazil.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Foton Technologies?

We hired Foton Technologies to assist us with one of our largest development projects for a laundry service. They augmented our development team to integrate the front- and backend of an existing mobile application, and they also helped develop the frontend for a second mobile app.

What were your goals for this project?

With only a three-day timeline, we needed them to help us deliver a pixel-perfect frontend to our client with the least amount of bugs possible.

How did you select this vendor?

I was looking for developers in Slack's React community, and Foton Technologies approached me.

We already had the prototype approved, and our team was running the code. Foton Technologies joined the project to integrate the front- and backend of the first mobile app in addition to developing 80% of the frontend for the second app.

Their team consisted of two full-stack developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Foton Technologies’ resources gave us the bandwidth to meet our extreme deadline. In fact, they delivered the frontend well ahead of schedule and exceeded expectations in terms of quality. Thanks to their team’s performance, we were able to turn a potentially negative situation into a positive experience with our client.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had an exceptionally transparent relationship from the start. Not only did the team deliver on time, but they also informed us of their status constantly as well as aided in aligning customer expectations. The latter added much value to the process as a whole.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I appreciated their commitment and willingness to overcome expectations. On top of that, their execution speed was far above average, and it was easy to get them accustomed to our existing code.

No, there’s nothing to improve.

I’m one of the founders of a financial services company that provides financing for students.

What challenge were you trying to address with Foton Technologies?

We had a two-month deadline to deliver a student financing product for our investors. Our company did have an internal IT team to code the app, the solution, the website, and our dashboard.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Foton Technologies developed our iOS and Android app using React Native. The app is for onboarding clients, while the dashboard allows clients to manage their financing for payments. We used Firebase for authentication. There are push notification and user space and control with dashboards and user data.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a team of three.

How did you come to work with Foton Technologies?

A friend of mine knew the CEO of Foton Technologies. He said their team were hard workers and would deliver the product on time. Based on that recommendation, we decided to engage with them.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost $4,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Foton Technologies between January–March 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their planning and tech decisions were exceptional. We found that their team made the right decision. Our team hired the right people and saw that the technologies that had no conflict with operations. With the milestones and deadlines, we were close to our goal. It was excellent overall.

How did Foton Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style was excellent. We discussed requirements in the beginning and had daily calls with their team. From the planning and product development standpoint, their communication and scheduling were efficient. After that, we met three of the four deadlines we had. Slack was our communication tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of their biggest strengths is their planning. Foton Technologies can quickly make decisions and get a project running.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication could benefit if they set up a project management tool.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients should be transparent with Foton Technologies. Let them help with planning so that you end up with reliable and reachable milestones and cost.
