Fortnight was able to provide an audit for our App and provided suggestions for some parts of improvement.

Lucy was one of our contact person and she was very helpful and responds to our needs ASAP. The deliverables are on time and they had provided mostly what we need.

their dedication and how they make a way for us to have a meeting/discussion since we are in here UAE and they are in UK, they always find time to set up a meeting, update us through slack as well as in the email. None. They had given their 100% best on the Brand Audit of our App.

We successfully launched with 10 trial clients and have since signed multiple paying B2B customers. We have had no issues with the tech and it's worked exactly as needed.

They were solid. The CEO, Rico did a lot of the PM work for us and he was a great advisor and always on top of what was happening.

They quality of the code they delivered was fantastic. We have had no bugs or issues from users since launch, and the data element has been done incredibly well. They were always happy with our changes that we made through the product and worked hard to ensure we got what we wanted.

Fortnight are a great agency with a solid team. Dan is a fantastic backend dev and Ash is a great PM. If you're lucky enough to work with these guys, you're in good hands

Are there any areas for improvement or something Fortnight could have done differently?

Our initial estimate was almost immediately changed as the scope increased. We ended up quite far over budget, which we would have appreciated more advice on, but that's both our fault and theirs.

We reached out to Fortnight to redesign our website and elevate our branding. As we had an important product launch coming up, the deadlines were tight so the project was split into two phases. The first round of work included a new website design based on our existing brand guidelines, which had to be designed and developed in under a month, in time for our product launch. 

In parallel Fortnight started the brand elevation project, which included new brand style guides and refined tone of voice. The second round of work included a completely new website design based on our new brand guidelines.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• We had a redesigned website designed and developed on time for our product launch. We had weekly meetings to go through the progress made.

We received everything we asked for on time and to very high quality. We received multiple options to choose from which made the process really efficient, as we explored a wide range of solutions in a short amount of time. We were always aware of what they are working on at the moment which made the whole process really transparent.

The amount and quality of work Fortnight delivered in such a short time was impressive. He presented multiple great solutions for all deliverables and quickly iterated on these after receiving our feedback. The whole process was really efficient, and we received the best possible outcome.

Their communication style was very uniform, which did not account for the difference in knowledge of people from various departments. This sometimes led to minor confusions when presenting deliverables.

I’m the founder and CEO of a company developing a marketing platform for cinemas and movie theaters. This platform will help users connect with each other through their favorite films.

What challenge were you trying to address with Fortnight?

We needed help with designing the UI/UX of our app and platform, so we hired Fortnight.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fortnight helped us design the UI/UX for our platform. They divided the project into four steps. First, they conducted a research and discovery process, after which they developed user journey maps for the platform. Then, they used Figma to create some designs for the actual platform, as well as a prototype. We didn’t provide Fortnight with any guidelines; we simply came to the table with an idea, and we built on it together.

What is the team composition?

We worked mostly with a project manager and a designer from Fortnight.

How did you come to work with Fortnight?

We did a search on Clutch to see all the companies available. I spoke with all of them and ultimately decided to hire Fortnight.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September 2022–January 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

It is hard to measure the success of the engagement because it was a design project. Overall, we were very satisfied with Fortnight’s designs and how our collaboration went. They were a great design partner and understood our requirements very well. Moreover, they were very open to innovation, and they ultimately helped us achieve our vision.

How did Fortnight perform from a project management standpoint?

Although we had a few challenges, Fortnight was very responsive, and they delivered everything by the due deadline. We communicated via Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Fortnight team members were very talented, and they helped us push our discovery and design process forward.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Fortnight’s management structure could be improved. Throughout the engagement, we felt that their management team put a few unnecessary hurdles in our way, so working with them could have been easier.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work closely with them because they’re a talented team. Additionally, provide them with all the information you have.

I am one of the Co-Founders of a C2C marketplace for used tech.

We wanted to develop a mobile app which consumers can trade used tech between each over in the same vein as companies like Depop and Vinted but for tech.

We searched online for the best app developers in London and shortlisted 5. After interviewing them, we chose fortnight based on their previous projects, design skills, and cost estimate.

We had series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. They provided wireframes and designs. The technology used was figma.

A project manager was assigned to be our main point of contact throughout the project. Additionally, we interacted with a Senior product manager, Product designer and Marketing manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The deliverables of the app development were amazing.

The project manager and other staff were easy to communicate with and provided daily updates. We had both in-person meetings and zoom calls, but most feedback was done through slack. Everything was delivered on time, and we received frequent warning if a deadline wasn’t going to be met.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their mobile app development skills and designs were amazing. They knew everything about how to execute our idea into an app. Since this was our first mobile app, they were also patient and willing to walk us through the process while we were learning.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't think there is any areas they need improving due to how good the communication and process was.

We looked for studio with relevant experience and full service portfolio.

We started with kick off meeting in person, continuing with several online meetings to define brand position, define target audience/users and explaining service of web app. Then We received several proposals for brand name and logo. After choosing name and logo We received wireframe of web site and user interface. Then We had 1 or 2 calls per week to fine tune details.

We received all documentation in Figma, which is very easy to use for our developers. Our new product looks marvelous.

Communication was effective. We had regular video calls to explain in details our needs. Work progress was good.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Our aim was to get a partner who would not only implement our ideas, but who would be able to independently build a whole new product based on a rough concept. Fortnight fulfilled all of our expectations.

We were about to launch and needed help with our visual identity. We wanted to launch a fresh and innovative brand that appealed to a broad section of our users whilst giving a sense of authority.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We selected 5 agencies to help us with the brand and had a call with each to understand the task and how that agency would approach it. The agencies were quite varied in scale and experience. Fortnight had worked on a broad range of projects and, from meeting them, impressed us the most with their ideas. We felt immediately comfortable that they understood us and what we were trying to achieve.

We had an initial call where we introduced what we were trying to achieve and made sure it suited both sides. From there we met and scoped out the initial stages and what was needed. Throughout the project the Fortnight team kept us informed of their direction and asked for our feedback. We would have calls at different stages of the draft logos right through to the final edits.

We had 5 or 6 people working on the project of varying seniority from Creative Directors through to Project Managers and Designers. A fantastic team who are proactive and got every stage of the project spot on.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Because of the project we have a brand that always gets positive feedback whenever it's shown. It's given us all something to really get behind and incorporate into the design of our website and app.

We had a meeting at every stage of the project, from mood boarding, concept designs, final drafts and the finalisation. Between these calls we would constantly be kept updated with what was happening to ensure everything was on track.

Their commitment and desire to produce something that will wow us as a client. They seemed genuinely excited to work on our brand, and it showed in the final result of the project.

I'm an executive of a wellness and fitness experience platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Fortnight?

I needed someone to help with custom web development for my platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fortnight to web development for us; they've coded the front- and backend from scratch and worked on mobile optimization. We already had our design when we came to them; in hindsight, we should've done the design and development with the same agency. To jumpstart the process, we had an in-person meeting in London and a Slack channel throughout the project.

The site is a booking platform, so the main objective is to ensure that the flow is good for the customer and that it is sleek and works properly. As the design was 98% there, they only had to do a small number of updates in terms of design. They did a little bit of design work, but mostly on the mobile app side of things and a little on the web, but it was predominantly a development project.

What is the team composition?

We've only been working with a developer from their team. There was also a project manager involved, but we didn't have that much interaction.

How did you come to work with Fortnight?

I found them through Clutch.

How much have you invested in them?

I've spent about £26,000 GBP (approximately $32,000 USD) with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership began in February 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The delivery has been a success — our measure of success is that we were able to launch on the day we wanted to. The developer we work with goes above and beyond to help us get everything done, which I greatly appreciated

How did Fortnight perform from a project management standpoint?

They stay on budget. Also, some things changed from our side, and they dealt with that well. Overall, we feel they're happy to work with us to facilitate our requirements as we advance.

Regarding tools, we use Slack and Zoom to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In the beginning, the price was one of the things that drew me towards them because we had much larger quotes. Also, their developer makes them stand out from their competitors; finding someone with the experience that he does was great. He didn't just put what we had in the design; he offered his expertise and suggested things as we went along, which we appreciate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their project management. It is probably not the right agency for someone coming into it without any experience in that and expecting someone to guide them through it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear with them regarding how often you want to have check-ins. I told them at the beginning that I wanted to have weekly calls, but that was something I suggested. Also, have a clear understanding of your timelines and ensure that you are checking in with them and that everyone is on the same page.

We hired Fortnight to completely redesign the look and feel of our website.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We searched online for design agencies, and created a shortlist of 10 we thought would do a good job. We asked for quotes and examples of similar work from the top 5 in the shortlist and decided based on the quality of work.

We had just rebranded through a different agency, so supplied Fortnight with new assets to be used, a list of our competitors, and examples of websites that we liked. Fortnight then went through a research stage and presented us with some ideas. Comms was done via Slack and Figma. We had access to the working Figma file and were able to comment and discuss with the designers throughout.

For the next stage of the project, Fortnight created wireframes, asking questions from us along the way to make sure we are happy. Many alternatives were presented for each screen and component. When we were happy with the wireframes, they created the "hi-fis". As we wanted to complete the project quickly, I was developing the website as the design was being completed. This worked quite well as I was able to ask any dev questions. Once the desktop hi-fis were finished and signed off, the mobile designs were created.

My team worked directly with their UX/UI designers and project manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were delighted with the designs and released the website around a week after they were completed.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our team was able to communicate directly with the designer, commenting in the relevant places on Figma. We felt this worked really well. We added and changed pages required along the way, increasing our budget slightly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed and quality of Fortnight's designer, Sarah. She was able to interpret our requirements and comments, and turn them into beautiful designs. Our requirements for some of the pages changed a few times, and we appreciated their patience and ability to adapt.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

From a development point of view, describing the grid and structuring the components in a proper component library early on would have helped. I was building as they were designing so this would have possibly been done afterwards if needed.

Our website was built by one of the team internally on Square Space when we first started up the agency. It lacked functionality and didn't sell us and what we do.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for vendors and shortlisted a couple who looked within our price range and had designed sites that felt modern and aesthetically aligned with our brand. We then spoke to Fortnight, who shared further examples of their work. Based on this we felt they were a good fit for our project.

We had a kick off meeting to discuss goals and objectives. From there, the team at Fortnight went away to work up wire frames. They were very flexible and responsive to our feedback. Halfway through the wireframe stage, we changed our branding which impacted the designs and timeline, but they handled this with patience and positivity.

They built the wire frames on Figma, which was easy to use and work collaboratively on. The site itself was built on Webflow, which Fortnight recommended we use. It is an intuitive, simple CMS so we're happy with this recommendation. Once live, the team were responsive to any bugs we flagged and these were resolved very quickly. Overall we're really pleased with our finished site. I have led on website builds in other roles and this was a much smoother process than I have experienced in the past.

Too early for any measurable outcomes, but overall we're really pleased with the site and are enjoying having a website that reflects our company, ethos and work.
