1. Review and analyze key end user interfaces, with particular attention to: (a) Alignment with existing mobile mock-ups (b) Need for better responsive layout in desktop environments (c) Overall consistency and opportunities to improve overall fit and finish without major efforts (d) Navigation, especially with respect to desktop layouts

2. Create/refine Figma designs for key end user interfaces in order to provide direction for implementation of the desktop layout. Formos anticipates selecting 6-10 screens within the following pages/flows as representative interfaces, that can be used as a pattern to assist with the refinement of other pages in that same flow/application area.

3. User Interface Refinement – Alignment to Mock-ups: A front-end developer from Formos will update existing end user interfaces in order to improve alignment with the original mock-ups and to improve the overall aesthetic. The effort allocated to this activity is not sufficient for a re-implementation or a guarantee of 100% alignment with the original mock-ups, for Formos will work with Movement-X to propose and implement UI updates which we believe will have a big impact on the overall aesthetic and UX without major development effort being required. 

4. User Interface Refinement – Responsive Desktop: Layout A developer from Formos will update the page layout/template and accompanying CSS to implement the approved desktop responsive layout. Additional fine tuning will be done on key end user interfaces, based on approved designs generated during the process described in User Interface Review and Desktop Layout Design.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The primary goal of our collaboration with Formos was to successfully launch a brand-new healthcare application to over 20,000 users. This platform needed to not only meet the technical demands of scale but also excel in providing a modern, intuitive, and engaging user experience. Formos was instrumental in turning this vision into reality. Their team ensured that every aspect of the application's design adhered to industry standards while pushing the boundaries to deliver a user interface that was both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional.

The measurable outcomes of the project clearly demonstrate its success: we achieved a seamless launch, garnering positive feedback from users regarding the application's usability and visual appeal. Without the expertise and dedication of Formos, we would not have been able to meet this ambitious milestone. Their work was critical in ensuring the application’s design and functionality aligned perfectly with our goals, enabling us to deliver a cutting-edge solution to our users.

Formos demonstrated excellent project management throughout the course of our collaboration. They were incredibly responsive to our needs, consistently adapting their approach to align with our evolving requirements. I had direct and open communication with their project manager, who I trusted completely to understand our goals and translate them effectively to the development team.

Deliverables were consistently provided on time, often exceeding expectations in terms of speed and quality. They also worked closely and collaboratively with our in-house engineer to address and resolve any issues that arose. 

I was especially impressed with John, who played a pivotal role in shaping the UX/UI design of our application. I often came to him with only partially formed ideas, and his ability to interpret and refine those thoughts into exactly what we needed was remarkable.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What really stood out about Formos was their awesome company culture. You can tell they take culture seriously and only work with peole they like, and it made working with them such a great experience. Even after the project wrapped up and we shifted to using our in-house engineering team, I was sad not to be working with them anymore. If I could afford it, I’d keep paying for their services just to stay connected with them—they’re that great to work with!

Are there any areas for improvement or something Formos could have done differently?

Early on, we received feedback from our in-house engineering team that the developers abroad weren’t documenting their work to the standard we expected. However, after some clear communication and addressing the issue during the initial code review, this was resolved quickly and effectively. From that point forward, it was no longer an issue and didn’t impact the overall success of the project.

Formos proposes to design and implement a platform that provides SLP Now’s customers with tools to help them register for an account, sign up for a subscription, manage their caseload of students, plan therapy session, manage their therapy materials, and access content through the Academy. SLP Now staff will be able to manage the platform’s content and users, and access reporting. The goal is to provide a familiar interface that is streamlined and customized to suite SLP Now’s unique domain.

This system will be built with expandability in mind. The enterprise foundation will allow it to support a large, and growing, number of users. The architecture will make it easy to implement additional functionality in future development phases.

The web application has many distinct and unique modules serving different purposes within Audigy's client base. Formos was the primary project management driver of the project in addition to solutions architecture.

Delivering individual modules within the web application on the agreed to timeline. Additionally, the modules had to represent the needs and user stories provided, of which they did, every time.

Jeff over at Formos is a fantastic project manager and solutions architect. Additionally, Formos' entire leadership team is communicative, receptive, and responsive. Correspondence was always timely and helpful.

They created a software from the ground up! The software created allows us to manage KPI's for our HQ location and franchisees. We are able to pull reporting, capture all necessary information for customized events, automatic scheduling, create confirmation pdf to send out, it has an event calendar and allows for our employees to enter in their availability.

Being able to actually see the all of the aspects that we needed in the software.... We would get some time to play around in it and make sure it fit our needs.

Great communication! People say they have it, but it is rare to have a business partner that really does that. We had weekly meetings during the bulk of the project, timelines and when things were going to be accomplished and feedback if that was going to be any different. They used a system so we all could follow the progress of work being done. We were also able to make comments or adjustments needed in that system.

From the start, they heard the needs and vision we had and were able to articulate it. Then, they turned that information over technically to their team to make it happen. They were comfortable with the process and gently guided us though it. There was constantly a progression of work until the final product was ready to be launched.

We had a few different project managers, but the transition was pretty smooth.

We had a kick off meeting to present our technology, and lay out the specific goals for improvement we had. This was multi-faceted. a project for each specific objective was laid out with estimates, and that guidance followed to conclusion. Formos now maintains our version releases of the software.

Project Manager was our main connection, who knew our space. He directed a team of 4-6 developers to meet objectives

ZoomInfo is a Sales Data Intelligence company. I was the CTO there from 2014 to 2018.

From 2014 through 2016, I oversaw a total rebuild of the technology platform for the company. We enlisted Formos in January of 2015 to augment the development team in this software development work. As the new platform was completed, we maintained Formos as an integral part of our development and support team.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Our company was growing rapidly and at the same time we were rebuilding the core platform on which the company depended. We felt that outsourcing some of the work temporarily would be a good way to keep things moving as we recruited full-time developers to build up our permanent in-house engineering team.

Formos was our first choice since I was aware of their reputation for quality. The intent was to use their services for a few months to bridge our need for developer manpower. As it turned out we maintained use of their services well after the initial project. In fact, the company has used Formos continuously ever since.

During the first year or two, the primary work was on the rebuild of the our primary SaaS application suite. Architecture and design work was done in-house and Formos was assigned various components to develop. They also contributed to the design details. They were integrated with our software version control and devops systems. We later had them also perform formal QA as well. The technology stack included Java, MySQL, various JavaScript frameworks, Twilio, and several services and technologies on AWS.

Over the period, I worked directly with Formos' system architects, client service managers, and overseas developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Formos contributed materially to the completion and success of our development team.Formos contributed materially to the completion and success of our development team. The rebuild of the SaaS application suite allowed the company to overcome the limitations of the previous technology platform and to subsequently incredible growth, that enabled the acquisition of several competitors and eventually one of the largest technology IPO's of 2020. Formos was maintained as a vital extension of the company's engineering team during my entire tenure at the company.

Formos was professional in all their interactions. Their solution architects and project managers met with us at our offices regularly. Their developer team communicated directly with myself and my developers using our online collaboration tools such as Slack. I do not recall any issues ever arising with respect to the quality or timeliness of their deliverables.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Formos excels in their management and execution. Their model of having local solution architects and client service managers working directly with the clients, with skilled overseas development teams works quite well and they have streamlined the process. In addition, as our relationship progressed, they were flexible in modifying the collaboration procedures for maximum efficiency.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I really cannot think of any. At various times, we found it useful to tweak processes and tools for both our in-house teams as well as with our interactions with Formos. They were always cooperative and constructive in these efforts. Consequently, there were very few issues or hiccups that we were not able to quickly solve together.

I was the consultant of realwear, and we manufacture Android-based head-worn AR devices that people can use in the engineering and construction industries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Formos?

We needed someone to further build upon our initial software base and migrate it into a modern cloud infrastructure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Formos is providing our company with ongoing custom software development to technically re-architect our device. They have one pocket of developers working on Enterprise Java and React for the base web interface.

There’s another set of Android Java developers for the actual device, and another for the DevOps aspect — all teams are basically configuring and maintaining AWS and our software automation tools.

What is the team composition?

I interacted with Charles (CEO), Andrew (Director), William (Solutions Architect), and an in-country manager for the Vietnamese team.

How did you come to work with Formos?

I came across Charles and his company when I became part of a local investment board for nonprofits.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, I believe they’ve spent about $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started in February 2018, but they’re still working together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Formos was able to improve our development timeframes and $10 million worth of revenue from a customer-facing perspective.

How did Formos perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management was good from the onset because we got to establish a roadmap early in the partnership. The team was also responsive in identifying solutions and adjusting priorities as they shifted.

Additionally, they were proactive from a communications perspective, and we would typically talk through the phone and weekly meetings — I was very satisfied with the way they managed the program during my involvement.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What sets them apart from their competitors is their tenure and experience, as their team has been doing this type of service for a long time now. Because of that, they consistently delivered my needs thanks to their professionalism and high-quality process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only issue I experienced when I was working with them was their lack of customer DevOps experience, so there was quite a learning curve during the partnership.

I would advise against micromanaging their team and make sure you clearly communicate your expectations for their deliverables. Formos is really good at iterating your needs so let them figure it out themselves.
