I’m a lead project manager at SoftwareHut Sp. z o.o. Our company is part of a larger group with 6–7 divisions around Poland. Normally, the group begins a startup that becomes divisions focused on products such as a tool for using Microsoft HoloLens for laboratories, office management, or UX design. Our division is part of the larger group and focuses on product development for our customers. We outsource development.

What challenge were you trying to address with AA+ Flutter Developers | Codigee?

A customer approached us to create a social media platform for families. We required a Flutter developer because we didn’t have resources at the time, so we reached out to Codigee.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Codigee provided us with development staff augmentation to build a family-focused social media platform for an end customer. Our requirements for candidates included Flutter experience, English-speaking skills, being sociable, and having a good understanding of the agile process. 

First, Codigee provided us with several CVs to review, and we did some internal recruitment to select candidates, including interviews. The team used their own procedures for onboarding the employee into their company, and we onboarded the resource into the project. 

Our customer provided the specifications, and we defined user stories. We used a combination of the Waterfall and Scrum methodologies with Codigee. We had two-week sprints with refinement sessions and sprint planning. Once we had an estimate for a part of the user story, we had a refinement session and corrected the initial estimates. Then, we selected user stories for the sprints, and Codigee delivered them. After each sprint, we had a spec meeting and repeated the process.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 1 developer and a project manager for the hiring process. For a very short time, we had an additional resource to replace the developer. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested 120,000 Polish złoty (approximately $26,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2021–March 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Codigee provided us with the right candidate who integrated well with our internal team. With resourcing, there’s often a barrier between ‘us’ and ‘them.’ We didn’t have that issue with this project; we worked with the Codigee developer as a team. 

During the sprints, we measured burndown charts and didn’t see any significant problems. Although every project has issues with the difference between estimates and reality, our problems were within our risk limits. Overall, we were happy with our collaboration with Codigee.

How did AA+ Flutter Developers | Codigee perform from a project management standpoint?

The end customer provided a project owner, and I was the project manager and Scrum master. We only had one situation where the Codigee developer was sick. Other than that, they were in all the stand-up meetings and delivered all features correctly. We used Microsoft Teams for calls, stand-up meetings, and chats. Azure DevOps was our project management tool. They worked remotely, as did our internal team, which made integration easier.

Toward the end of the project, we had some changes in the user stories from the product owner. As a result, we had to reprioritize, which changed the budget and estimates. However, Codigee managed the changes well, and the project went smoothly, so the customer was really happy. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Codigee’s pricing was on the low side, and the quality was good, so the ratio between their price and quality was impressive. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I didn’t feel like they lacked anything; everything went well. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don’t have any advice other than all the usual steps of collaboration. We’re considering hiring Codigee again because they have high-quality standards, and we had no issue with our cooperation.
