We needed a customizable back end solution that was both flexible to our industry and our needs.

What were your goals for this project?

To launch a fully functional back end system to help manage our many products, their costs, and the pricing clients pay for them.

How did you select this vendor?

We met Flat Solutions through Upwork.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

From the beginning Flat Solutions listened to our needs and then went to work creating our vision. We needed a system that managed our many clients, their account information, pricing for specific products, and margin management. Flat Solution was able to integrate with our subscription based front end system and make the process virtually seamless. We still have much more work to complete and are excited to see the project through with Flat Solutions.

What was the team composition?

The main team consisted of our management team, Flat Solutions and our UX designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Although our project is not completed, we have seen an increase towards our ability to organize and structure customer data. We are also able to manage our accounts profit margin more efficiently. Manage clients orders has also been beneficial.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Flat Solutions has always been attentive to our needs. They have responded in sufficient time and have always completed tasks in a timely manner.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The extensive ability to complete any task set.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Just wish Flat Solutions was closer to meet onsite and discuss project needs. But with technology today we of course are able to communicate effectively on tasks.

Headquartered in Rogers, AR, Waggoner Diagnostics develops, manufactures, and distributes innovative ophthalmic medical devices. Waggoner Diagnostics’ suite of color vision tests is the only cross-platform suite of color vision products available on the market today. We are able to satisfy anyone interested in performing color vision tests, both screening and diagnostic, by providing traditional booklets (PIP), computerized color vision tests (App), and Internet-based testing (Web). There is a product that aligns with each potential customer’s needs perfectly by providing high-quality medical devices at an affordable price. Waggoner Diagnostics also owns and operates www.ColorVisionTesting.com, a site for information regarding color vision, www.TestingColorVision.com, a site that allows people to test their color vision online. I am the CEO.

For what projects/services did your company hire FlatSolutions?

To develop a world class diagnostic medical device that was easy to use for our clients. We needed to build our color vision test, which is a class I medical device according to the FDA, from scratch for Windows, iOS, and Android. I wanted to ensure code that was used in the Windows could be used for iOS and android as well. I believe FlatSolutions was able to use 70% of the code from the Windows app using Xamarin.

What were your goals for this project?

I wanted to ensure code that was used in the Windows could be used for iOS and android as well. I believe FlatSolutions was able to use 70% of the code from the Windows app using Xamarin. I wanted the app to behave and feel the same across all three different OS. For the Windows version we used .net and C#. Then, with Xamarin, we used much of the code from the Windows version to make Android and iOS. Each has to be licensed and protected since we sell the application for $999/license. This was the most important development project Waggoner Diagnostics has ever done. It has been a great success with our doctors.

How did you select this vendor?

FlatSolutions was recommended by a colleague who vetted them profusely. I was not involved in this process because I am not a development expert. I know that my colleague was very rigorous and would not accept any firm that wasn't perfect and extremely competent.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

FlatSolutions designed the architecture of our desktop and mobile applications. This included backend design, breakdown business requirements to tasks and development of the final software product. FlatSolutions was very involved in UI/UX design, testing and developing for the entire project.

What was the team composition?

There was only one resource from this organization because he was a full-stack developer and was able to complete the entire project with his abilities.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This is a flagship product of ours that is sold to militaries, governments, private doctors, and many more organizations for the testing of color vision. Without the work FlatSolutions did, we wouldn't have our most important product to sell.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

FlatSolutions worked closely with a colleague/project manager. However, I think FlatSolutions could have handled it on their own. They brought great project management skills and organization to the project. We used GITHub and Freedcamp to help manage the project and it works perfectly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

- Development skills. By far the best developer I've ever worked with. It is so convenient to work with a full-stack developer so we don't have to bring in other teammates. It makes it much more efficient and effective. - Project management skills are terrific. I love all of the documentation FlatSolutions provides.

Are there any areas for improvement?

During this project, we did have one misunderstanding, but we were able to discuss it in-depth so that way we could be on the same page leading to a successful relationship. It is my goal to continue to work with Denis for years to come.
