With the FFFace.me team, we helped bring real-time virtual try-on to Makeup by Mario, a beauty brand led by one of the most iconic names in the industry. This innovative, camera-based experience allows users to try products directly on their faces, helping them feel confident in their purchases. While it may seem straightforward, the technology behind it is anything but simple.

FFFACE.ME is known for pushing creative boundaries in beauty and technology, working with clients such as L’Oréal, Mugler, Meta, Lenovo, Visa, and Porsche. They led the creation of ultra-realistic AR filters, while we at Bachoo focused on the complex work of integrating those filters natively

The challenge we faced was significant. Most augmented reality (AR) try-on solutions failed to accurately render makeup, making them unsuitable for a brand like Mario’s. The only technology that delivered truly realistic AR makeup was Snap, which required native integration directly into the website without using iframes or third-party layers. 

The outcome is increased sales compared to similar periods in previous years, as well as increased engagement and longer time spent on the website.

A dedicated Project Manager led the initiative, ensuring seamless coordination and clear communication between FFFACE.ME, Make Up By Mario, and our team. I provided the overall artistic vision and creative briefs (concept notes, moodboards, sketches, references, interaction intentions, and aesthetic constraints). FFFace.me translated these into robust AR implementations—prototyping, building, iterating, and optimizing the experiences to match the intended look and behavior while meeting technical limitations and performance requirements. They consistently proposed smart technical solutions for complex or unusual requests, and adapted quickly when creative direction evolved during production.

In addition to mobile AR projects, they also supported AR smart mirror experiences for live events (including work connected to L’Oréal), ensuring the experiences were stable and event-ready.

Key deliverables included:

Headway, an EdTech startup and the most downloaded app worldwide in a book summary niche since October 2020, according to SensorTower, has joined Mental Health Day to raise awareness about psychological issues.  As a part of the social campaign, we launched an Instagram AR mask "Claim These Words", with 20+ supportive insights from mental health and self-growth bestsellers. 
Instagram's AR mask helped us reach our goal of reminding people that words of support matter. It also fully expressed how the right words said at the right time can save a person.

Although it took us some time to get on the same page with the final concept of the Instagram filter, the result was a great fit in terms of visual representation and sense. Maybelline New York is the brand with Gen Z as target audience and our goals are to inspire, excite and amaze via our beauty products and its ad campaigns. We were supporting our new surreal mascara The Falsies Surreal and wanted to use new VR/AR technologies to make buzz around it. I had the basic idea to create something unusual and in virtual world but wanted to add it to all support components (from points of sale to digital campaigns). 

We`ve briefed FFFace Me for Insta & TT filter with our digital model on the world camera and mascara effect on the front camera to make it not only as fun instrument but also informative for users (digital model shows you all product benefits and results). Also, I wanted to organize Virtual brand party in Metaverse, but it was very expensive and we were not sure who will visit it and what we will receive after. 

So FFFACE.ME helped us to make full support idea finished and refuse from instruments that will not work, instead we have created the idea to make our filter work offline on the biggest screen in Ukraine, on Gulliver mall.

It is difficult to measure influence of separate instruments because our campaigns are very complex, but we've received really great results of using our filter on Gulliver:

The project with Gulliver mall as the biggest AR mirror in Ukraine was something unexpected and absolutely new for our consumes and we think that it was really our common best practice.

I know that FFFACE.ME is very involved in its projects and makes them really great, but the ideas should be supported by at least minimal data confirming their effectiveness for business, because now they are just creative ideas without any arguments (projects that were realized before, not new and unique of course). 

And also, more clearly determine the possible technical result obtained at the beginning of work on the project, because we had a situation where expectations were a little overestimated in relation to the result.

I'm Communication Manager at Infopulse. Infopulse is one of the leading IT outsourcing companies in Ukraine.

We wanted to create a mask for Instagram from Infopulse for the day of the Ukrainian national embroidered costume. So that our specialists and subscribers can wear an embroidered shirt on this day, regardless of whether they took it with them.

Our designer advised the studio FFFACE.ME. We chose from several other studios, comparing similar cases with body tracking. But the FFFACE.ME cases turned out to be of the highest quality.

We created two women's embroidered shirts and two men's in the Instagram filter. First, we started with mockups, approved them, and then FFFACE.ME implemented the idea in the Instagram filter. The whole process took 2-3 weeks. The technology used - AR.

We did not use any advertising at all, and for an account with 1,300 subscribers, this is a significant result. Users immediately understood the value of this project, and we received positive feedback.
