Headway, an EdTech startup and the most downloaded app worldwide in a book summary niche since October 2020, according to SensorTower, has joined Mental Health Day to raise awareness about psychological issues.  As a part of the social campaign, we launched an Instagram AR mask "Claim These Words", with 20+ supportive insights from mental health and self-growth bestsellers. 
Instagram's AR mask helped us reach our goal of reminding people that words of support matter. It also fully expressed how the right words said at the right time can save a person.

We've contacted ffface.me for AR Instagram filters to support a digital merch campaign for ClearVPN. Although it took us some time to get on the same page with the final concept of the Instagram filter, the result was a great fit in terms of visual representation and sense. Ffface.me also provided us with short videos to support our campaign and useful tips on the promotion.

We believe the main field of improvement for ffface.me is in the timing of the initial filter adjustment to the client's needs. However, it works both ways, and a more detailed spec would help ffface.me to play it differently. We'd like to see developments in terms of creative processes. It's already fantastic, but it's exciting to see how the company expands its vision.

Maybelline New York is the brand with Gen Z as target audience and our goals are to inspire, excite and amaze via our beauty products and its ad campaigns. We were supporting our new surreal mascara The Falsies Surreal and wanted to use new VR/AR technologies to make buzz around it. I had the basic idea to create something unusual and in virtual world but wanted to add it to all support components (from points of sale to digital campaigns). 

We`ve briefed FFFace Me for Insta & TT filter with our digital model on the world camera and mascara effect on the front camera to make it not only as fun instrument but also informative for users (digital model shows you all product benefits and results). Also, I wanted to organize Virtual brand party in Metaverse, but it was very expensive and we were not sure who will visit it and what we will receive after. 

So FFFACE.ME helped us to make full support idea finished and refuse from instruments that will not work, instead we have created the idea to make our filter work offline on the biggest screen in Ukraine, on Gulliver mall.

It is difficult to measure influence of separate instruments because our campaigns are very complex, but we've received really great results of using our filter on Gulliver:

We had some delays in filter creation process because the result was not fully discussed at the beginning of the project, and we were expecting a little more complicated and graphical effects of the world camera and the transformation selfie effect, but the team was dedicated to the project and delivered great results.

The project with Gulliver mall as the biggest AR mirror in Ukraine was something unexpected and absolutely new for our consumes and we think that it was really our common best practice.

I know that FFFACE.ME is very involved in its projects and makes them really great, but the ideas should be supported by at least minimal data confirming their effectiveness for business, because now they are just creative ideas without any arguments (projects that were realized before, not new and unique of course). 

And also, more clearly determine the possible technical result obtained at the beginning of work on the project, because we had a situation where expectations were a little overestimated in relation to the result.

To make it more clear, the programming lab is a space our company created to teach students navigation systems. We wanted this AR solution to make a "WOW" impression on everyone who uses it. 

When we approached FFFACE.ME, we actually had only a general idea of what should be done. Due to the creativity and imitativeness of FFFACE.ME, we managed to pick the best idea and then implement it. As a result of 1 month work, we got a design of AR marker and AR solution.

We wanted to create a mask for Instagram from Infopulse for the day of the Ukrainian national embroidered costume. So that our specialists and subscribers can wear an embroidered shirt on this day, regardless of whether they took it with them.

As for scope of works, we were managed more by common sense and final results, than regulated brief with several stages of approval. Whenever we come into projects, it was vivid discussion at the beginning, checkpointing within process and celebrating the success together.

Once, we were recommended FFFACE.ME as a contractor. When we needed to create an Instagram filter, we researched the AR market and finally decided on FFFACE.ME was the best option. We initiated our first project about three years ago.

Our client focused on the direction of cocktails. During covid times, people stayed at home and instead of going to a bar, they had Zoom parties with friends and made homemade cocktails. And we decided to help our target audience make a cocktail at home. Therefore, we created a site with recipes for various cocktails and tutorials for them. We came to FFFACE.ME with the idea of ​​a filter in which we could measure how much they should pour alcohol, and other ingredients into a glass to make a balanced cocktail. We had one front camera that worked with face tracking for those who like to take selfies.

During the shooting, cocktail ingredients appeared on the face, which was elements of facial decoration. And with the help of the world camera, it was possible to measure how much to pour different ingredients into a glass. During the development process, the guys recommended and suggested making the filter work better, be more native for the user, convenient and user friendly.

We usually come and brief FFFACE.ME with our creative ideas, having a solution in advance. We already imagine this mask, its functionality, and what it should be. And the studio, in turn, offers its recommendations for improving the idea. There were no complaints, and all projects were delivered on time.

The team always has a solution. When you come up with a task, Dmitry immediately understands how it will work, suggests a technical solution and shows similar references. They explained how your idea would work and helped package the offer and concept.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Lots of proactivity at the beginning of the work or at the tender phase. That's cool. But then it disappears somewhere. Sometimes, the team inside does not always agree with each other. Therefore, there are various curious situations (one says "it is possible", the other - says "it is impossible"). Do not always hear the needs of a conservative customer and offer something that he will never buy. Weak involvement of the art director.
