I am the co-owner of Home Appliances Food Co - a food truck in Toronto. We are a small business that opened during the pandemic, serving up smash burgers and donuts.

We need some help defining our brand clearly through and on social media channels, as well as create media that we could use to help promote our business. It was tough to get the word out that we existed and share our story all at once. That’s where InHouse Creative came in and were able to create a mini-doc that showcased who we are, where we came from, and why we do what we do, all the while staying in the brand.

It was a no-brainer really when it came to working with InHouse. We saw some work from their portfolio and thought it could be a good fit. When Zach approached us and offered to be the puzzle piece we were missing, he came to us as a friend who really wanted to help us grow. That meaningful interaction was so important to us. It made us feel seen, valued, and didn’t make us feel like we were a dollar sign to someone.

To begin, there was free form discussion with the InHouse team and ourselves where we shared our vision and they shared their initial ideas based on trying our food and our brand. From there, Zach and Gabe came up with a video concept that integrates an interview format and action shots. Once that was agreed upon, it all happened so smoothly and quickly. A day of interview shooting and a day of b-roll shooting.

We were presented with the unedited footage while the final product was being completed. This was key for us because it demonstrated that InHouse recognized the anxiousness in waiting to see the result and gave us something exciting to look forward to. Then, it was done! Zach sent over the final video and even gave us some reels and social material! It was honestly a fantastic and easy process.

The mini-documentary helped grow our following by hundreds and increased our social engagement immediately. Additionally, we have received and continue to receive inquiries from other digital platforms such as Toronto Life and Curiosity to work with us. Lastly, the video helped us secure some private events with local businesses.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

This was probably the most efficient workflow experience I’ve been a part of in a long time. The InHouse team was extremely clear and concise when discussing any creative ideas and gave us accurate timelines of step completion from beginning to end. There was never an unforeseen situation that needed adapting or rescheduling. Everything was done when they said it would be done.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their genuine care towards us. Zach and his team actually and sincerely wanted to help us grow, which we find doesn’t exist all too much anymore. They took the time to get to know us first outside of our business. It was clear to us that it was important to them, that a real relationship be formed before any type of collaboration or offer of service was made. I believe that years from now, this will be the biggest, most stand-out impression that we remember - and it’s that InHouse Creative truly, and honestly aim to develop relationships with people and wish abundance and success for everyone.

I asked Zach to generate a few images of a counter drone concept I am working on. I was looking to use these images as a visual representation to bring in engineers to the project. I deliverable was in the form of 5 different image files.

Just great to work with overall. It was nice to work with people who seemingly became my friends. Being personable really mattered to me and Zach does that effortlessly.
