We’ve seen clear, measurable progress in several areas. Briefs are now turned into high-quality assets first time, with far fewer revisions needed, and every piece of work they deliver feels consistently “on brand”. 
As our trust has grown, we’ve expanded their scope from one-off design jobs to managing all our digital and customer-facing materials, including our website. They now understand us so well that they operate as an embedded part of our team, which is a strong indicator of the value and reliability we see in their work.

What stands out most is how they've brought our brand to life in a way that feels both distinctive and truly 'us'. It’s rare to find a design partner who can take your ideas, understand your world, and turn that into a coherent, living brand that works across everything you do, but they’ve managed exactly that.

Honestly, there’s very little we’d point to as an area for improvement. We joined Favoured in a transitional phase, and they handled the “getting to know you” process and establishing ways of working extremely well, making the handover feel smooth and well managed. If anything, our only ask is that they continue to challenge us and push our brand as confidently as they have done so far.

We were looking for a minute long promotion video for the charity to represent the work that we do, whilst negotiating the complicated issue of "what is Mito".  We were looking for a piece that highlights the work that we do, the people we help and the brilliant community we work with. We are looking for an emotional film that will engage new people to get involved in The Lily Foundation and the work we do.

Favoured have produced a one and a half minute film that brilliantly sums up through visual footage how tough it it living with mito and when people watch the film there is not a dry eye. It is hugely emotional and effective.

The goal of the engagement was to increase installs and overall marketing effectiveness for my mobile app in a competitive marketplace. The agency was responsible for performance advertising, creative asset development, marketing automation, and tool integration.

Key Deliverables:

Apple Search Ads Campaign Management:
The team set up and optimized paid campaigns via Apple Search Ads. While the cost per install was reduced, the installs never became profitable or resulted in measurable ROI.

Facebook Ad Campaign:
One Facebook ad campaign was launched. It performed well in the first two weeks but quickly turned ROI-negative. No further optimization or iteration was done after that.

App Store Creative Assets:
The agency created two new sets of app screenshots for use in the App Store. I ran A/B tests comparing them to my original screenshots (which I created myself despite not being a designer). Both agency-designed sets performed significantly worse than my originals.

Video Campaigns (Unfinished):
I provided raw assets for two proposed video ad campaigns, which initially sounded exciting. Despite this, neither campaign was ever completed. Only a single, generic concept was delivered, and it did not reflect my product or brand.

Email Marketing:
An automated email flow was created, but it was poorly executed. Emails were sent with unresolved placeholder text such as “We mised you [name goes here]” and no one on their team flagged or corrected it.

Marketing Tool Stack Integration:
I was encouraged to subscribe to multiple third-party marketing tools. These were initially positioned as affordable but ended up costing thousands of pounds. Most provided little to no value, and the setups were rushed or misaligned with my needs. After leaving the agency, it took months to cancel and disengage from these tools.

Overall Scope Evaluation:Although the project scope seemed comprehensive at the outset, many deliverables were either ineffective, incomplete, or poorly executed. The strategic guidance was minimal, and there was no positive business impact. Despite spending around £15,000, I saw no improvement in installs—if anything, there was a slight decline.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Measurable Outcomes

Unfortunately, there were no positive measurable outcomes from the project. Despite a total spend of approximately £15,000, I did not see any increase in app installs, user engagement, or return on ad spend during the engagement period. In fact, app performance metrics may have slightly declined.

Here are the few metrics and results worth noting:

Apple Search Ads:
The agency was able to reduce the cost-per-install (CPI), but the installs remained unprofitable and did not convert into engaged or valuable users.

Facebook Ad Campaign:
One campaign showed early promise with good engagement in the first two weeks, but quickly became ROI-negative and was not adjusted or optimized further.

A/B Testing of App Store Screenshots:
Both sets of new screenshots designed by the agency performed significantly worse than my original (self-made) screenshots during A/B testing, suggesting poor alignment with user behavior or expectations.

Email Marketing Campaign:
No measurable results were observed. Additionally, basic quality control errors (e.g., placeholder text left in emails) undermined trust and professionalism.

In summary, the project did not produce any measurable business success. No meaningful progress was achieved in terms of installs, revenue, or user engagement.

The agency's project management was generally responsive on a surface level but lacked structure, proactivity, and follow-through. While the team was friendly and communicative—always replying to messages and happy to set up calls—the actual delivery of work was often delayed, incomplete, or required repeated prompting from my side.

Items were not consistently delivered on time. For example:

• The two planned video campaigns were never completed, despite me providing all required assets.
• Several tasks, such as fixing basic issues in automated emails, were only addressed after I flagged them.
• Creative assets, like app store screenshots, were delivered but with no testing plan or strategic context until I pushed for A/B comparisons myself.
• There was little evidence of a clear project timeline or milestone tracking. I often had to follow up to check progress or ask when promised work would be ready. 

In short, while the team was pleasant and accessible, the project management felt reactive rather than strategic or organized. Work moved forward only when I pushed for it, and overall accountability was lacking.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most positive aspect of working with the company was the friendliness and approachability of the team. Everyone I spoke to was polite, enthusiastic, and easy to get along with. Communication was always professional and they were open to calls and discussions whenever needed.

While the work itself didn’t meet expectations, I did appreciate the positive tone of the interactions. It’s clear they care about building good client relationships on a personal level—even if, in my case, that didn’t translate into results.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Favoured could have done differently?

Yes — several key areas stand out:

Results-Driven Focus:
The biggest issue was the lack of tangible outcomes. The agency should prioritize measurable performance over simply maintaining client retention. Clear goals, regular progress tracking, and accountability for ROI are essential.

Strategic Thinking:
Much of the work felt generic and disconnected from my product or business model. A deeper understanding of the client’s offering and market, paired with more tailored creative and campaign strategies, would have made a big difference.

Proactive Project Management:
Many tasks were only completed after I followed up multiple times. The team should implement a more structured project management approach with defined timelines, milestones, and proactive communication.

Quality Control:
Basic errors—like placeholder text in marketing emails—should not make it into live campaigns. A more thorough review and QA process is needed before launching client-facing work.

Creative Execution:
Both the screenshot sets and the video campaigns lacked originality or relevance to my product. Creative assets should be data-informed, tested, and aligned with the brand's unique value proposition.

Tool Recommendations:
I was pushed to subscribe to a range of expensive tools that delivered little value. Future clients would benefit if the agency recommended only what’s truly necessary—and implemented it thoughtfully.

Overall, Favoured could greatly improve by focusing less on upselling and retention, and more on performance, creativity, and strategic alignment with client goals.

We have seen growth in all areas thanks to signing with Favoured. Our top line revenue is increasing steadily, our KPIS are being met in terms of ad spend and emails share revenue is also up thanks to the MOF teams work on flows. Compared to last year the last 5 months have seen an increase in revenue of around 80% - thanks in large part to the integrated approach of the team to email, fb and google advertising.

I would like more contact with the creative side of the work, I cannot fault Jacob Louise and Ivan comms skills and work ethic but going forward I think we can focus more on the creative side of the campaigns to continue to see great results. MOF was great - the design and work on the flows has delivered measurable improvements , the campaigns haven’t done so well but im not sure if thats to do with the team.

• Google and Meta Ads: They managed our ads on both Google and Meta. This meant creating the ads, picking where they show up, and keeping an eye on how well they were doing. The goal was to get more people to visit our site and buy our snowboards.
• Email Marketing: Favoured also took care of our emails to customers. This wasn't just about sending out offers, but also making sure our customers stayed interested in what we have to offer, so handling any automations as well as manual sends. In short, they handled our online advertising and customer emails, aiming to sell more boards and keep our customers happy and engaged.

And then there was GG, who was a star with video content. He helped us create, guide, and lead all our video materials, which made a huge difference. It was this direct access to these experts that really made our experience with Favoured stand out.

In terms of improvement, the only point to note is the seasonal nature of our business. There are times when we need to pause our projects, but this is more about our industry's rhythm than a reflection on Favoured's performance. We've had to put things on hold occasionally, but we're always ready to pick back up where we left off.

Favoured has been understanding and adaptable to this aspect of our work, which is something we truly appreciate. Overall, their flexibility in aligning with our seasonal business needs has been a key part of our successful partnership.

As mentioned above: Ongoing creation of creative assets and management of marketing campaigns across multiple online channels (search, social, tiktok, influencers). We were especially interested in launching campaigns within one month, optimization in months 2 - 3, and scaling in months 4+.

We are focused on all measurable outcomes for our technology:

• cost per product trial
• cost per product subscription
• product engagement (active users; completed actions in the app)

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Product management has been excellent. Our product manager is highly responsive and delivered work on time, given reasonable expectations for this volume of work. We notice a slight lull in productivity when Sam (the product manager) is on vacation but that is probably a signal that she is doing a good job and unavoidable.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Favoured has the right mix of talents and experience for our pretty demanding expectations - and coordinates a fairly large number of people toward the wide variety of tasks required for Sleuth.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Favoured could have done differently?

We switched to a weekly (not every 2 weeks) pace of meetings with the product manager. That was absolutely necessary. There are some ad campaigns whose creative material has been developed and ready to run, but not tested on Facebook quite as quickly as I’d expected. I don’t have insight into why this is the case, and there may be strategic reasons for it.
